Summit Studio Architects is a collaborative practice founded for the purpose of creating exceptional architecture, cultivating an interactive design process and above all, having great fun in finding big ideas that resonate with your personal ideals. Based in Colorado, Summit Studio has evolved into a nationally recognized practice known for thoughtful and considered design solutions that reflect the influences of the way that you live in your home. Pat founded Summit Studio in 1993 on the premise that Summit Studio would create truly innovative mountain homes meeting the unique needs of his clients. Pat demonstrates an adept ability to express mountain architecture using techniques inspired by tradional timber framed homes yet with modern amenities and consideration for green building techniques. You’ll appreciate Pat’s deep appreciation for a collaborative service oriented approach to all aspects of design and construction. As an award winning architect, Pat’s homes have frequently been entered in the Summit County Parade of Homes where they invariably swept the awards in multiple categories. His clients have been home owners and contractors, many of whom have become friends and repeat customers. Pat has continued to be inspired by mountain architecture but has also expanded his practice to many of the surrounding regions in Colorado.

Due to health reasons we need to leave our Pat Hubbell designed home after eleven years. During that time this home has brought us a lot of joy. It has served our needs so well over the years that there is nothing we would change. Well maybe a few light fixtures, but that’s on us. Pat did a great job in determining our needs and designing a floor plan to meet them while staying true to the exterior design that brought us to him in the first place.

I have known and worked with Natalie for almost ten years now in the design and construction industry. The projects she designed for my owner still stand as architectural ideals in Southern Colorado. Each project was design to celebrate the site amenities while incorporating the natural light, regional materials, and the funtional needs of my owner. Natalie also understands the importance of fulfilling budgetary and scheduling requirements, which was critcal when meeting our teams high expectations!

We hired Summit Studio Architects to design our mountain home, while we were still living in Wisconsin. We had seen some of their work in the Summit County Parade of Homes. We interviewed with Pat Hubbell and immediately hired him. We met with him several times and he asked us of our likes, dislikes, special features in our house and we accepted his drawings (......less one bathroom!) as soon as we saw them. He also positioned our house on the lot so as to have maximum views of the mountains surrounding us. We never would have thought of that added feature! No issues with construction and the house was completed on time. Everyone who visits us compliments on the lay-out, special features and especially the views. We strongly recommend Pat Hubbell!!

When selecting an architectural firm for our outdoor living space addition and related interior remodel, we were prepared for the notion that we were going to be taking a long journey together! We wanted an architect that fostered trust and mutual respect, shared a common vision with us and was a healthy communicator. Natalie and Pat provided us with the highest level of experience and service. Their impeccable sense of design and understanding for how to create a space that would perfectly meet our needs over time was faultless. My wife and I love the outdoors in Colorado and with a generous outdoor living space including lounge seating, kitchen, large custom designed fire pit and jacuzzi, it's a substantial addition to our home. The project went smoothly from start to finish and we can't be more complementary about the way that Natalie and Pat led the process. Both offered such a positive attitude in exploring our options and in trouble shooting the challenges that we wouldn’t hesitate for a second to recommend this firm!!
