Chris Phelps took a few ideas in our heads and pictures in our hands to design for us the most beautiful and functional home. We could not imagine going through this process with someone of lesser creativity and skill. He listened attentively to our ideas and asked questions that tapped into unspoken goals. Chris shared his professional opinion on what would work and not work for a cohesive look and plan for a mountain home over 7000 sq ft. As our understanding of the flow and function of our space came into sharper focus for family, work and ministry, Chris redrew our plans with unusual patience and skill until they were perfect. The man deserves an award for enduring the long evolution of getting our dreams onto paper and soon into reality. On top of all else, he’s fun to be with and and immensely entertaining. We always left his office hopeful and encouraged that our collaboration would produce amazing results. And it has.

We love our home designed by Chris Phelps. We had never built a home before, so the prospect of starting from scratch on a vacant lot was overwhelming. We hired Chris Phelps to design our new home and really enjoyed working with him. Chris was responsive, professional, and showed great creativity during the process. He was also very helpful in understanding and communicating the way each feature or design choice would impact the budget and what the trade offs for each choice would be. Chris designed an amazing home for us. He and his team were truly a pleasure to work with.

We had never used a professional architect or building company in any of our previous builds. The location of this home and the fact that this was to be our "empty nest" home, we wanted the best and Mr. Phelps took our inspiration photos and expectations and put them to paper. If we didn't like it, he would change it. The process was methodical but worth it. We started completely from just a list of wants and some pictures and off it went from here. We are amazed at his talent and ability and would use him again!!

Chris's design was near perfect on the first draft. With the small changes we collectively made, our house turned out beyond our expectations. Chris was extremely creative and practical in the design.

Christopher and his staff were the best! They were always accommodating and delivered all phases when committed. We found Christopher creative and full of good suggestions which helped us zero in on exactly what we wanted. We found a plan that Christopher designed in one of the neighborhoods we considered when looking for our lot. During our initial design meeting we kept what we liked about the house and made changes to fit our taste and needs. Christopher was very open to all our suggestions with no hesitation to rearrange room sizes, locations and façade. With his advice, we ended with the perfect design for us. Each draft phase was timely and complete. There was no frustration of having to repeat instructions. His office staff worked hard to deliver all commitments on time. Of particular note was the assistance Christopher provided in helping us satisfy the requirements of our neighborhood design review board. These hurdles can seems frustrating at times but Christopher personally assisted us with visits to the site making the approval process as smooth as possible. We now have the perfect home for our family.
