We were fortunate to have found Hunter on Houzz. We were in search of an experienced architect with knowledge of building homes on a hillside in LA County to build our dream forever home (from ground up). We interviewed about 4-5 architects before we chose Hunter. Hunter has been so great to work with! He is knowledgeable on building permits, the inspection process, building codes and has excellent communication and follow through. He is organized and helped us to understand the process and what to expect each step of the way from design, obtaining permits, connecting with builders, and breaking ground. He is always available and provided excellent insight when making decisions. He is patient and explains options in a clear and concise way in order for us to make the best decisions for our lifestyle and budget. His eye for design and detail while considering practicality is impeccable. From the first meeting we had about our wants and needs in our home, he was able to provide 3 different design options with one of them being near perfection on the first try! He was able to provide us with a design that took all elements into consideration- layout, flow, design, natural lighting, square footage and aesthetics all while maintaining exactly what we asked for (and more!). The process of working with him has been very smooth. He has great resources and contacts (i.e. structural engineers, contractors, builders, etc). Hunter has also been available for following the project during the build, and maintains good communication with our builder. Our project is more than 50% completed and we couldn't be happier!

Hunter Knight of Weather Projects is simply the best! Not only is he one of the nicest people you will ever meet but he thinks outside the box while being an expert of the current rules and regulations to your property. He helped us figure out how to expand our home within the most restrictive zone in Los Angeles, and all while following the rules and regulations of the city, county and state. Hunter is also always available and is willing to listen to and suggest what would be best for us. We cannot recommend him enough.

We brought on Hunter to bring forth our vision for a multigenerational ADU/pool/landscaping project. Turns out this was one of the best decisions we made in pursuit of this dream. Like with anything that matters in life, it's the relationships that make it special. He was an invaluable resource and made the process smooth. Every conversation we had with him made us more confident and excited. He encouraged collaboration and discourse. He was quick to respond whenever we had questions. We were particularly impressed with how deftly he navigated the permitting process and how he advocated for our interests in instances of city bureaucracy. It's clear Hunter possesses a clear passion for his craft while conducting himself in a humble, approachable way. For these reasons, my wife and I unequivocally recommend Hunter and Weather Projects for architectural and design needs.

Hunter Knight & Weather Projects was an excellent fit for my two-story ADU-type project. Hunter came up with a great design solution keeping my wishes in mind and meeting City setbacks and parking requirements. Every step of the design process, from initial concept pre-schematic design through working drawings, Hunter addressed my concerns and managed to incorporate my needs into the design. We started the design processes a few months before COVID, which seemed to put the brakes on the City’s review of the drawings. Hunter managed to adjust and navigate through all of the new layers of City imposed Pandemic protocols to get the drawings approved. Hunter kept me well informed throughout the entire process, and I’m delighted with the project design. I'm in the final stages of preparing to break ground on the project.

Working with Hunter and the team was a fantastic experience. They listened carefully to our dreams and desires and made them become a reality. They understand the need for differing budgets and ensuring that the little details matter. We could not be happier with our results and they are almost a mirror image of the initial approved renderings. They supported us with recommendations of all vendors, many of which we worked with but were also open to working with other partners that we recommended. All in all a super supportive, personal experience.

Hunter, Weather Projects principal, helped us create an absolute sanctuary of a home and navigate the city approval process, all during a pandemic. We bought with the intention to renovate in a historic neighborhood, which comes with an extra layer of approvals and bureaucracy beyond the standard City of Los Angeles. Gut renovations are always stressful, and he stayed calm through it all even we did not. Our home is a craftsman exterior that Hunter transformed into a modern home with vaulted ceilings, an addition, and tasteful contemporary details for fixtures and materials. He also partnered with a cabinet maker to complete the space, ensuring an integrated feel. No detail was too small for him to advise on. Typically Weather Projects works on much larger projects, and it was a treat to get that caliber of architecture for our home.

My father, founding partner/architect Pierre de Meuron of Pritzker Architecture Prize winning Herzog & de Meuron, and I had the most pleasant and satisfying experience working with Weather Projects. Hunter and Shannon managed to take our 1950's ranch style house and turn it into a beautiful modern work of art!! They spent countless hours with us working to understand and create what we wanted and what would fit well with our surroundings. Their sense of design and innovative ideas are what will make this house a space that we will love to live in for years to come. I will post photos when the project is finished.

My wife and i wanted to build a two story, 2 BR 2 BA addition to our house. Weather Projects made the entire process easy. They helped us narrow the many ideas we had to a focused plan. Having never embarked on such a project, we had lots of questions and concerns--Shannon and Hunter were extremely patient. Their years of experience were evident from the beginning. They steered us as smoothly as I could have imagined through the many difficulties involved in the building process. We are absolutely in love with the finished project that they helped us create and couldn't recommend them more highly.

We had a fantastic time working with Hunter and Shannon. They completely reimagined our home into something we absolutely love. They're great sense of style and esthetic along with being incredibly fun to work put us at ease during the entire project. I could not recommend working with them more!
