William Johnson

Whitcomb Design did all design work from inception onward for Johnson Ranch in La Canada (a small town in Southern California where land value can be several million dollars per acre). They designed our main house, our 3-bedroom guest house, livestock corrals, and landscaping covering multiple acres. My wife and I are very pleased with their work. So much so that I have used them on other, much smaller projects, and have also referred them to my contacts. I highly recommend them for design and construction needs. Darren and Marty did a fabulous job serving as architects for our home. They were great to work with and came up with innovative architectural designs that we didn’t even know we wanted until we saw the proposals. Whitcomb Design is my contractor/architect of choice. They always responded to my questions and concerns. I was very satisfied with the work and think I was dealt with fairly. I have had five different contractors perform work on my house over the years. I kept trying someone new as I never felt like I got the job I paid for. The last contractor I called was Whitcomb Design. I also needed an architect to draw up plans as it was a substantial change to the north side of my house. They have an in-house architect which made the project go very smoothly. I was very satisfied with the job and will definitely be calling them again for my next project. Highly recommended.

Darren and his crew constructed an outdoor entertainment space that turned out beautifully! We are very pleased with how it looks and functions. We enjoy using it as a family and with friends. Darren and everyone he enlisted were very patient and cleaned up the area each day before going home.

Whitcomb Design provided architectural and construction services for a remodel/addition project for my husband and I. We couldn't have been happier with the results. The scope of the project was a 1,000 s.f. addition of two bedrooms, remodeling what had been a bedroom into an adjacent family room, and remodeling one bathroom. Marty Whitcomb made design suggestions we had not considered ourselves, that took into account our family's lifestyle, ending up with a super comfortable flow from the existing house to the addition. Darren Whitcomb assembled a team of all the subcontractors required, and he scheduled them seamlessly. All of the subcontractors were courteous, punctual, skilled, and efficient. Our limited budget created some constraints that Whitcomb Design was able to turn into creative solutions while keeping costs in mind. I would not hesitate to use Whitcomb Design for any projects in the future.

We added a powder room to our downstairs area. We worked with Whitcomb Design for the architecture and contractor. They created a beautiful powder room for us. They even custom built our corner bath vanity - which I really love. Darren and Marty are super professional and friendly and patient. Everyone Darren contracted with was very professional as well. I am so happy we chose to work with Whitcomb Design and I always felt that my project was a priority to them.

Whitcomb Design planned and completed a major remodel of my 3500 sq. ft. home in La Canada. I am very pleased with their design ideas, management of subcontractors, and attentiveness to my work order changes. Both my wife and I appreciate their excellent communication skills and continued updates with the project. They were even conscientious enough to come back weeks after the project was completed to adjust cabinet doors and perform any minor touch ups. They truly stand by their work and operated with personal integrity which is rarely seen in construction workers these days.

Darren and Marty redesigned and remodeled our Reception, and sales areas with new counters, partitions, cabinets, sealed concrete flooring electrical & lighting. The public parking area, Toilet room and Entries were modified for disabled access to our business. The property entry gates were modified and the property fencing was increased with general and security lighting. We are very pleased with the new design and construction work by the Whitcomb Bros. and would recommend them for your project.

The Whitcomb Brothers have done many different projects for me over the past 20 years ranging from redesigning the interior of my home, designing & building a barbecue cover that matches the house, remodeling the pool house / laundry area, detailed carpentry work to selecting and installing all new windows. It has always been a pleasure to work with them on whatever needs attention. They also have been willing to refer subcontractors for small repair projects. With there help I've been able to keep my home in great condition and looking good.

We hired Darren to transform our front closer to a more open space for shoes, coats, bags, and other everyday items. The end result exceeded our expectations. Darren and his guys are extremely professional. Every aspect of the work was handled with the upmost care. One of the things I really like about Darren is he is easy to reach at all times.
