BLDG Workshop Inc.
Historic Building Conservation Companies in Sharon
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsAugust 7, 2013
“We can highly recommend BLDG Workshop with complete confidence. In contrast to the many bumps along the way of our renovation and addition, the design process was exciting and enjoyable. Nathan and his team of professionals were timely and efficient, good at communication, and willing to work with the trades we had hired; however, their best attribute is of course their smart, inspired design! Our favourite part of working with BLDG was the collaborating... they are the experts but they listened to our ideas and were excellent at incorporating our whims and wishes. We will definitely be contacting BLDG the next time we build!”

“We worked with Gloria to re design and re construct a 3,400 square foot home in Riverdale. The results were spectacular in the true sense of the word and a credit to Gloria's innovative and cost sensitive design. We would recommend her highly.”
Geometra Design Ltd.

Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsNovember 8, 2012
“I hired Gabriele and his company, Geometra Design in June 2012 to design a 3,500 square foot, 2 storey home that I will be building in south Etobicoke. Gabriele was able to complete concept design, committee of adjustment application and meeting, building permit design and application in less then 5 months. He was able to accomodate all aspects of the building permit requirements, including mechanical engineer, structural engineer and final renderings. His professionism and approach to the project, including deadlines was unsurpassed. He was able to facilitate all my needs, from design to building permit application (which in Toronto in not easy). His knowledge of the new digital building permit application requirements, made my application process very easy. I was told at the City of Toronto building department that most people do not have all the documents in the required format, but my application was perfect. I am very pleased with his work ethic and ability to respond to all requests. He was very easy to work with and I would recommend Gabriele and his company to anyone who is looking for a knowledgable architect, who can take any project from start to finish with ease. I look forward to working with him again soon. Gino C - Wynford Homes Ltd.”

“Timing: quick to respond and turn around at all stages of the 200k home reno Consultation: good listener and incorporated our wish list into drawings; made some additional suggestions and revised to final spec. Design: brought our vision to life from initial sketches to drawings issued for construction; 3rd Party Coordinator: handled electrical engineer and helped with GC convos; very collaborative with trades; Trustworthy, knowledgeable and professional at all times. Advisor and coach: helped us navigate difficult situations; recommended material sources; went beyond the call of duty at committee of adjustment hearing to defend our design and get approval; Available in timely manner for all stages of renovation; I would work with Atelier Pool again. I would do a better job at managing scope of work / cost - approx. 30k for services, including initial design work, engineer and ongoing consultation.”

“I hired William Dewson Architects to design a summer cottage in Georgian Bay on a 5 acre island. Our first challenge was to figure out the site plan and where to put the cottage given numerous zoning restrictions and other natural fators. Bill and his team were great to work with throughout the whole process of defining the best site and then brainstorming the design that best suited our family asthetic. Bill's charismatic enthusiasm made our meetings fun and creative, we were all very happy with the end result and thoroughly enjoyed the design experience from start to finish.”
D.A. Drafting & Design
Historic Building Conservation Companies in Sharon
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsJanuary 4, 2017
“After meeting with several architects, I hired Derek from DA Drafting & Design to do all the architectural drawings for submission to the City of Pickering for my 3000+ square foot custom build. My project was a huge success, due largely in part to Derek's experience and professionalism. He sincerely cares about his clients needs and his work. He saved me thousands of dollar by suggesting subtle changes that would not only enhance the design, but would allow for easier execution when it came to the actual building process. I highly recommend DA Drafting & Design. Reference call are warmly welcomed via contacting Derek. Mike R Pickering ON”

“We worked with Kaegan on the addition of a year round sunroom for our home. He was very knowledeable and using my sketches drew up working plans to help us navigate the complexities of the building code, and produced a great design with which to obtain building quotes etc. He helped us realize the vision we had for our home and we would definitely recommend hiring him! Our next project may be a kitchen reno including the removal of a wall. Rick Crouch and Sandy Raymer”
Lindy Architect

Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsSeptember 13, 2013
“We engaged Lindy Consulting to provide some plans to renovate the 3rd floor of our house which was an unused portion of our house which contained two bedrooms and which we were using as additional storage space. Our plan was to move our master bedroom to this space and add a full washroom. We met with Steven and Annette to discuss our ideas and how we envisaged the space and our estimated budget. They came back to us the following week with some preliminary sketches that impressed us. We then gave them the mandate to prepare full drawings and once approved by us, they managed the project from completing the drawings, getting them approved, and seeing the project through to completion. We were quite hands-on in the decision making but they truly took ownership of the project and had our best interests in mind throughout. Although we ended up spending more than we budgeted (which was as a result of our decision to upgrade bathroom appliances, flooring etc.), we are really pleased with the final result.”

“Lattag Studio provided us with architectural drawings for an unused space that we planned to turn into a two bedroom apartment. Great work, innovative use of the space available, responsive, quick, listened and adapted drawings to our suggestions, and provided us insightful advice as to what could and could not be done.”
STACKLAB

Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsFebruary 12, 2014
“We hired Jeff and the STACKLAB team for 2 projects, and they delivered quality workmanship beyond our expectations on both. The first project we commissioned was a custom bar (top shelf). We gave Jeff a very vague idea of what we were looking for, and from there he spun off in a creative direction we never anticipated. The collaboration with other artisans he brought into the project made the custom bar a beautiful piece to behold and one we are happy to display proudly in our home. The thing I love most about it is its clean, linear design and how it appears to float on the wall. The second project was something we had not planned on, however when visiting STACKLAB's studio to discuss the custom bar, we saw some heritage redwood slabs, and decided to commission a desk from one of them (rubaiyat). We knew we wanted the slabs to retain their live edge, so Jeff showed us some design prototypes for legs he was working on. They were the perfect balance of rustic and contemporary design, so we agreed to include them in our project. When the desk was completed, Jeff and team delivered it to the house, only to find that the desk slab was several inches too long to clear the angles of the open staircase. They dutifully hauled the giant 10 foot slab back to their studio to trim an edge slightly and even brought it back the same day! I didn't envy them having to haul that mammoth piece up the stairs twice in one afternoon, but it was done without even the tiniest complaint. It is one of the most talked about pieces when guests visit, and I derive so much joy from seeing it every morning when I pass by. We enjoyed working with STACKLAB so much, that since then I've been trying to think of other projects we can commission for our home.”
