Born 1978 in Sydney, Australia, Mark studied at National Art School then completed a Master’s Degree at the College of Fine Art. Having painted every day since the age of fourteen, he has enjoyed an extraordinarily successful career to date. In 2011 at the age of 33, he took the almost unprecedented step of opening his own gallery in Sydney’s busy Surry Hills area, exhibiting only his work. Now entering its third year, the gallery has defied economic downturn to become one of the most successful galleries in Australia. Collectors of Mark’s work include Russell Crowe, Lionel Richie, Lisa McGuigan and many corporate and private collectors, internationally. His bold expressive landscapes of iconic urban centres combine romanticism, hope and offer a commentary on the human condition.
I am an artist based in Sydney, Australia. I like to create beautiful art in a digital realism style where painting technique creates the look of the modern world as we now perceive it through digital techniques. For many years I worked as a scenic artist creating sets and backdrops for film and television, painting very large images in film studios. It was high pressure and short deadlines but what a great time! With the advent of computer graphics, I moved on to creating realistic animated content commercially, again specializing in environments and surface textures. But I have come back to painting, still the most satisfying medium. Portraits now, and skyscapes too, sometimes together on the same canvas. I work in oil and acrylic, painting our modern world; both so rich and beautiful. I learnt so much from the modern disciplines (film work, computer graphics, photography) and found it all is relevant when painting. I use these modern elements to lift the image, to meet the expectations of the modern eye. Even flares, artifacts and scattering all work beautifully in oil to create a visually satisfying piece that is still clearly handmade, wrought by human creativity. The artists I admire, would be Elizabeth Vigee Le Brun, William Bouguereau and Marcel Marlier; masters in the realistic style and technique they used in creating such believable skin tones.
I specialize in the world wide electronic delivery of Digitally Downloadable photo Art to customers who choose to avoid shipping costs and delays by Printing and Mounting their own artworks locally
Sydney based pencil artist Lisa Lapointe, draws upon spiritual, religious and indigenous mythology in her art. There is also an obvious connection with the primitive, but the colours are if anything futuristic. This ‘Yin and Yang’ in her work is pertinent for it allows Lapointe to take risks. Nothing is as it seems and the aesthetics found in her work are not necessarily there to please. The end result though, is unashamedly optimistic – “We are heading into a new future,” Lapointe enthuses. What interests her also are the undercurrents of human emotion. The energy of a situation found in an action or a comment, or even a song. Every moment and place, every person and sentiment, are transformed into a visual language – the shapes are the words and the colours are the emotion. Lapointe looks deep within herself and draws upon her own inner psyche, which she sees as a vibrantly colored geometric world. She translates this world into a totally original prismatic language resulting in powerful transcendental like imagery – chaotic yet serene. The act of drafting itself becomes a form of meditation. Hours of hand coloring large-scale works in turn becomes a spiritual practice. The result is truly unique work. Lisa Lapointe did a Bachelor of Fine Arts at CoFA, UNSW. She lives in Sydney, Australia.

Studio Enti is the design practice of Australian designer, Naomi Taplin. Naomi formed Studio Enti in 2013 after completing a Bachelor of Design at the College of Fine Arts, UNSW. A strong belief in the necessity of good design and concepts of longevity and sustainability are the major driving forces behind the work of Studio Enti. Naomi believes that in order for products to be valued and to fulfill their destiny through use, they need to cleverly cross boundaries of function and beauty, and have imbedded within them an inherent worth and respect for the materials and processes that they are created from. "The ability to work in the development of everyday objects brings a sense of grounding and purpose to my practice. I am interested in creating beautiful, functional pieces that connect with the human psyche. Pieces that have the ability to tell a story and to enrich the tasks and the lives of the user".
