I work with architects, designers and home owners develop and build objects that are aestetically pleasing, tactile and fit their needs. Sometimes this involves working through a set of details provided by an architect. Other times I work with clients to develop a design with them, working with 3-D computer models and scale process models to create what the client envisions. Our work has been seen in the Pacific Northwest Luxe Magazine as well and the Seattle Magazine.
I design and create custom artwork for private, corporate, and public settings. I work in traditional fine art media (oil painting, printmaking etc.) as well as combined media and technologies like dye-painted silk laminated within glass. I also collaborate with master glass blowers to create antique window glass with gently abstracted color imagery within. Art glass is used for relights, curtain walls, door panels, exterior windows (thermal panes), showers, wall murals (back or front illuminated), and more. Glass artwork defines spaces, blocks some sound, creates privacy, while allowing light between spaces. With over twenty-five years in this art business, I create artwork referencing nature, often visually amplifying natural metaphor. My successful custom artwork requires research and cooperation with the commissioner, for site-relevant, space-enhancing, architectural art and fine art.
