Some of the spaces they were working in, ensuite bathrooms and a changing room, were very small and intricate. Mark interviewed me sensitively, to discover precise details of the story that I wanted included in my commissioned painting. The vibrant colours in the painting encapsulated the landscape of the Green Spain of my memories. In another commissioned work for me, Mark explored heraldic forms, meanings and colours to create a striking painting of a vintage bicycle. Do you want art work which can be enjoyed in a home and not just in a gallery? Mark uses strong colour and bold images to paint clear, lyrical stories. He has painted stories of Roman amphitheatres, of cafés in Tuscany, of cafes in Hampshire’s New Forest and of the simple pleasure of dog walking.”
