I am an avid cook and when I remodeled my kitchen, I wanted a counter surface that could withstand heavy use and fit my lifestyle. I chose concrete because of functionality and durability. I also loved the contrast of stainless appliances playing against the natural patina of uncolored concrete. Andy, at BDWG Concrete Studio, is a true artisan. He immediately understood the aesthetics and had the technical knowledge and craftsmanship to create exactly what I was looking for. The counters and sink were poured in place and it was a multi-step process. Andy was as precise in the measuring and forming of the structure as he was in the polishing and finishing phases of the project. My "natural finish" probably doesn't suit everyones personal tastes, but there are as many options and techniques with concrete, as there are coloring and accents. I customized my sink by adding a personal item. For me, my countertop and sink are just perfect! It was a pleasure working with someone who is so knowledgeable about their craft and who cares about quality as much as he does. I would highly recommend BDWG if you are considering concrete counters.

While visiting Boone NC, I walked into BDWG studio and was blown away by the presentation of concert in forms I never imagined. The owner Andy was extremely professional and knowledgeable. I walked out of the studio with an end table made of wood from an old bridge and a concrete top. That was in the late nineties. Today, I have had BDWG design, build, and install concrete countertops in my house, build bowls and even a clock. My latest investment has been for a bar sink that has truly made our guest suite / man room one of a kind. Andy made a custom concrete sink top, basin and backsplash for our reclaimed wood vanity. We built a new "old" farmhouse in the spring of 2013 and wanted to achieve the look of an older home. Andy's expertise, eye for detail and quality craftsmanship was outstanding. His piece is one of the highlights of our home. Andy has the artful eye of a craftsman while understanding the technical aspects of his products. His measurements were perfect. The concrete top and sink basin have an old, rubbed patina effect.
