BIG BANG MOSAICS

We worked with Cindy from Big Bang Mosaics to add color to a hutch constructed from off-the-shelf cabinet components. Inspired by the juxtaposition of cubism and trompe l'oeil of Picasso, Braque, and Gris, the mosaic shows vases and other objects from the cabinet rendered using glass and porcelain. The mosaic tells a unique and personal story of the years gone by interpreted by Cindy's skill and creativity. The process was smooth from start to finish, as well as collaborative. It was fun to be able to see the mosaic in various stages of production, and provide input. I would highly recommend Cindy and Big Bang Mosaics if you want to add something unique, personal and beautiful to your project.

After reading the reviews here and seeing photographs of her work, I contacted Cindy about a backsplash behind my stove. She was a very easy to work with and created a magnificent mosaic. While I was designing my new kitchen I contracted Big Bang Mosaics to create a mosaic for over my stovetop. On our first call I shared my vision with Cindy. From that point we worked together via email. She would send me drafts, I would give my input and Cindy would send me revisions. I couldn’t have been more pleased with the outcome. Cindy was professional, easy to work with and most important a very talented artist. The contractors assembling my kitchen were able to easily mount the mosaic and lay the subway tiles around it to complete the project. The beachscape mosaic is the focal point of my new kitchen. Cynthia Fisher does amazing work and is a pleasure to work with. I reviewed the work of over 50 mosaic artists before selecting Big Bang Mosaics. I loved Cindy's work from the moment I saw it, she works in rich colors and uses textures and glass in ways few other artist do. She created a stunning mosaic for my newly remodeled kitchen. I wanted a visual focal point to bring color into a white kitchen. She did an amazing job. Everyone who has comes into my kitchen compliments the mosaic -- in fact, my sister who just remodeled her kitchen, contracted with Cindy to create a custom mosaic for herself ( and is thrilled with the work) I had the pleasure of meeting Cynthia briefly in person, but our work together was done remotely. I live in NJ and Cynthia is in MA but we were able to collaborate very easily over the internet and phone. She shipped the final product to me on a board, and my contractor installed it very easily. When my kitchen was destroyed by a leak from upstairs, I had the opportunity to (finally) recreate it so that it was exactly what I wanted. I love mosaic, and I wanted to cover the entire backsplash with an original work of art. The kitchen area is quite small, and I had in mind something like a jeweled cave. We spent a long, long time looking for an artist that could produce what we wanted. We loved Cynthia Fisher's abstract mosaics, and contacted her about our job. This was the best decision we made in the entire remodeling process. We are in California and Cynthia is in Massachusetts, but this was not an issue. She guided us through the measurement process, sent photos of the work in progress so that we could provide feedback about what we liked or didn't like, and completed the work on time. Besides the artistic elements, the job was quite challenging technically--the mosaics had to fit around light switch plates and outlets, and around the edges of the cabinets. Not only did thing fit perfectly, but the mosaics are designed so that the switch plates are integral, not visually separate from the work. Installation went smoothly (it helped that Cynthia was available to talk to the installer whenever we needed to consult.) The result greatly exceeded my expectations. I got exactly what I wanted, and I love, love, love my backsplash. I give Cynthia Fisher and Big Bang Mosaics my very highest recommendation, both as an artist and as a professional. It was a joy to work with her.
