Lawrence Kearns pottery is functional, high fired stoneware created on the potter’s wheel. Once a piece is thrown on the wheel, the form is trimmed and altered to create a surface acceptable for the glazes that are trademark of Lawrence Kearns Pottery. Each piece is then sprayed with several glazes, applied in layers. Overlaying glazes helps create the texture and patterns that uniquely characterize Lawrence Kearns Pottery. Each piece is fired to 2300 degrees Fahrenheit in a 40 cubic foot gas kiln. Glaze formulas are free of lead, and all pieces are food, dishwasher, oven, and microwave safe.
