Mosaics are very labor intensive and can take weeks and months to complete. Time and cost will vary depending on the project. There are several factors that contribute to the cost of a custom hand-made mosaic; size of mosaic, level of complexity of images or designs, size of the hand-cut pieces (tesserae), and materials are a few. First Consultation is free. Your package price will include /Design/ Construction/ Installation and Care instructions for your investment.

I recently purchased both of Michaels on line courses and he does not disappoint! I highly recommend these courses, They are interesting, fun, easy to understand and thorough. Andamento can be boring to me, so much so that I could not even finish a course from another mosaic artist, but not so with Michael, I made it through the andamento chapter and actually understood what Michael just taught! Way to go Michael and thank you for demystifying this ancient art!

Great learning experience with Michael in 5 day Ravenna class at his new studio in Hunters Point Shipyard. We covered so much more than just the Ravenna method, which is quite elaborate in itself. We also covered substrates, multiple direct and indirect methods, the history of mosaics, color valuation, andamento, best products to use, etc. I would highly recommend this class.

I took the five-day mosaic workshop with Michael in Tucson last month and was treated to a fantastic experience. I knew nothing about mosaics when I entered the class, but came away with enough knowledge and skill to begin doing mosaics on my own. The atmosphere of the class was very friendly and enjoyable, however, serious as well. Michael is an excellent teacher. I had been thinking of going to Ravenna for the five-day workshop, but I'm glad I went to Tucson. Michael studied in Ravenna and I believe I gained from him everything I could have gained in Ravenna, except perhaps the great Italian food. Tucson and San Francisco have some good Italian restaurants, though, so save a couple thousand bucks and attend one of Michael's workshops here in the states!

The Mosaic Society of Philadelphia hired Michael to lead a workshop. His preparation was thorough and timely. As a fellow mosaic artist I witnessed his masterful skill as he taught the use of traditional mosaic tools and materials. Michael clearly is passionate about what he makes and addresses all the details necessary for exquisitely professional work.

I met Michael at a mosaic seminar in Chicago a few years ago, I was a speaker and juror from England.
I'd had the opportunity to study a piece of his work before I met him and that work knocked me out. It had a confidence and understanding of the materials used that comes only to the very experienced or truely gifted; the latter of which he is and the former he has become.
As a mosaic professional I would highly rate Michael's work and would be confident in recommending his services to everyone.

I used Michael as a consultant about mosaics and my studio. He was punctual, thorough, clear about specifics and very supportive. He shared his knowledge freely and provided me with several different solutions, allowing me to go forward with my work.

Mr. Kruzich has a vast knowledge of mosaic design, fabrication and installation. His ability to take a seed of an idea and translate to a drawing then to mosaic is skilled and often quite breathtaking. Working with Mr. Kruzich is a pleasure, he is prompt, sensitive to budgets and costs, has a kind and patient personality with an ability to tame the most challenging personalities. He works with integrity and professionalism and I highly recommend Mr. Kruzich and MKMosaics.

Michael is a visiting artist instructor at the mosaic school I co-own. While I have not hired Michael for a commission, I can attest to his mosaic knowledge and skill. He does high quality work, and is impressively fast (mosaic is often very slow.)
As an instructor, Michael puts time into planning and preparation in order to ensure classes run smoothly; I have no doubt he approaches every project with the same care.

How Michael can create such flowing beauty out of small squares of stone and glass is beyond my understanding. His sense of line and color are unsurpassed in the mosaic world, as is his ability to make even a spectacular design just a little more beautiful.
In addition to raw artistry, Michael has a stellar work ethic, communicates clearly and is humble and approachable. He's a good teacher too, generous with his students and a pleasure to learn from..

MKMosaics has refreshed an ancient mosaic tradition for the 21st century. The two pieces of this studio I chose for my interior are views of San Francisco, city and ocean. The artist, Michael Kruzich, brings a lot of expression to this fine craft. When he reinterprets a painting or photograph, you would think he used a fluid medium like paint or watercolor. Kruzich has not only mastered he Ravena method that he explains so well—and even teaches, but controls also the right balance between glass and stone pieces to obtain stunning effects.

I am the owner of di Mosaico (www.dimosaico.com). We sell Italian smalti and stone worldwide. As such, we periodically receive inquiries asking for referrals of mosaic artists. Michael Kruzich is at the top of our list. In addition to being a highly creative and skilled artisan, he is also committed to being a professional, whether in the form of scheduling, communicating or budgeting. I strongly recommend Michael to anyone who is considering a mosaic project and would be happy to communicate directly to provide any other insights or to answer any questions.
