ArtDoors are fine works of art painted on functional doors. They can be commissioned as originals or as a customized artist edition. Griffin produces each door individually. “There are no short cuts,” she states. The artistic process can take up to two months for an artist edition ArtDoor to as many as four months for a completely original ArtDoor. “People will remember this,” Griffin states. “The doors carry an emotional impact.” On a practical level, each ArtDoor is custom made to hinge, pivot or slide. “It’s a 150-pound door, but my cat can actually slide the door open,” she says. “And people have a choice, it can be used as a door, or as a painting.”
