The French Brush is the Los Angeles based art studio of Carole Da-Cruz, leading expert in decorative painting since 1998. Carole has done a fabulous job on several projects in our home. For my son’s room, we requested a jungle scene, and the result was more exquisite than we ever could have dreamed. My husband and I joke that if our son grows out of his room’s theme, we will move into it. Additionally, she painted a beautiful scene of branches, birds and flowers on our dining room ceiling, and it came out gorgeous. We were so impressed with her work, that we kept adding on projects. We finally had her paint our master bedroom with a faux finish, and it came out equally as beautiful as her other work. We love her versatility and it has truly personalized our home to fit our family’s decorative style. I have highly recommended her to many friends and family for any painting projects they may have in the future. She truly has the ability to wonderfully improve the design of any family home or business.

Carole da Cruz, who calls herself the French Brush, is a very talented specialty painter. In the course of finishing a large home remodeling project in Rolling Hills, we had her paint a number of accent walls and a powder room. She worked diligently with my wife to get the effect and colors just the way my wife wanted them and the result turned out spectacular. Carole is also prompt, timely, efficient, and dependable. We recommend her highly.

Carole is extremely talented and has done work for us both in our home as well as our office. We have an audio post-production studio in Burbank. In addition to many of the hand painted designs in the studio, we had huge ugly white tubing for the A/C units in each studio. Carole hand-painted each one to look like tiles wrapping around, going up. Each one is different and I can't tell you how many compliments we get on them, with the constant remark - "what a great idea!". We've used Carole for over 20 years for projects that have combined: french brush, sponge faux, Venetian plaster, textured, colored and buffed plaster, metallic finishes on wrought iron and glass lampshades, custom designed stencils...and the list goes on. Carole is extremely professional, reliable and easy to work with. Working with an artist really makes the difference. I would highly recommend her, with pleasure.

Rick and Ann Weiss

We recently hired Carole to do some detailed decorative stenciling on the ceiling of our foyer. She met with us twice in advance to discuss the design and presented us with several options. Although she did some limited tracing, the vast majority of the work was done freehand and came out phenomenally. Carole consulted with us through the entire work phase to make sure we were satisfied with the exact colors, glazing, etc. She met her scheduling and price commitments entirely. We could not be more happy with the end result and strongly recommend her to anyone.

I have known Carol since she started The French Brush and have watched her grow as an artist and business professional over the years. I have been so impressed with her and her work that I hired her to transform some walls and furniture pieces in my Venice Canal house several years ago. She listened to my ideas and then executed the project beyond my expectations. Carol is multi-talented and does an excellent job of turning a drab room/wall/furniture, etc., into something dramatic, whimsey or tasteful. Gina Robins

Carole came into my home and created a beautiful safari world for my boys' room. She was smart, creative and collaborative. The result was beyond my expectations. She was quick and reasonably priced. The original had a picture of my 2.5 year old riding a zebra. Two years later when I decided to another zebra with my younger son riding, she came back. To this day, her likeness of my boys created when they were 3 years old still looks just like them. I rue the day when they reach an age that living in a safari is just "not cool".

Barry Woods

We hired Carole to do some faux finish or mural behind an acrylic piece of art we had commissioned, so the etching would be more noticeable. We weren't really sure what we wanted but she created some beautiful sketches from which we chose the idea. From there, she translated it into a beautiful work of art. We were so thrilled, we had her do another similar piece behind another art piece. Extremely satisfied with her work and would highly recommend her.

Amazing job. Carole went out of her way to give us the look we wanted for our living room/dining room. She also painted an underwater scene for our nursery which is AMAZING. She is hardworking and goes out of her way to create and help you find the right look for your space!
