Dennis built us a custom-made double front gate out of old growth cypress. It is stunning and exceeded our expectations. Dennis was a delight to deal with: honest, straightforward and engaging. The quality of his carpentry and installation was outstanding. People have driven by the house, stopped their car and come and asked who made for it us. Dennis is both a professional and an artist. He listened to my wife’s and my needs when it came to building a gate for the entrance of our Longboat Key home. Dennis used beautiful and quality materials such as old cypress wood, copper and brass. If I were to ever need some special carpentry for a future gate or door, not doubt I would ask Dennis to perform the job. Wiederhold creations made us a front door and gate for our 1926 Spanish Mediterranean style home. We showed him sketches of what we were looking for and he was able to make our sketches come to life. My husband and I recently purchased a new home with a kitchen eating area that would allow for a large table to sit 8-10 people. The table would have a wood base and a stainless steel top. He listened to us very carefully and explained to us how he would make it. He got in touch with a vendor that does wonderful stainless steel work and coordinated everything so that we only needed to work with him which was a delight. Through out the process Dennis kept us up to date on the timeline via e-mail, sent photos and had us come out to select the stain we wanted for the base. I contracted Wiederhold creations to design and build a custom old growth cyprus door. the finished product was beautifully crafted and delivered as promised, I have seen several projects produced by this company and was very much impressed with the creative way they were accomplished.

Dennis Wiederhold created the perfect front door for our new, mid-century-modern home in St Petersburg. The solid white-oak door is 8 foot by 42 inches and includes a series of horizontal glass inserts. His workmanship is excellent, he delivered the door on schedule, and went above and beyond to ensure the door was finished and installed to perfection, adjoining the ledgestone exterior and interior walls. The look and feel of opening this door makes visitors feel welcome and secure in entering a well built, artfully constructed home.

Creative and detailed, Wiederhold shows in-depth knowledge of wood types and has the expertise to tackle design challenges for a sucessful outcome in woodwork projects. The custom-designed wood fence and gate he built and installed to shield a pool heater from view became a beautiful and enduring design element associated with the house. It was a fairly complex project carried out with skill and openess to ideas.

From his long road trips looking for special woods, to his incredible woodworking skill & true artistry which includes beautiful hand drawn design, carving, distressing, glass infusion, & all types of complicated joinery, to the way he then tests his products by beating them up & setting them around his property in the weather with little dates & codes on each piece. You don't see this type of old world craftsmanship much these days. If you want a quality product Wiederhold creations is an excellent source. We'd definitely have them do more work for us.

Dennis is a consummate craftsman. Besides his strong design skills, he takes the time to choose wood he uses to blend the woods intrinsic character to his work. He balances linear and curvilinear to add dynamism and flow. Best of all, he really listens to his customers and actualizes their practical needs with grace and beauty. I had Dennis build a door that the wife and I had been dreaming of for years. He used old growth cypress with a glass swamp scene that turned out beautifully.
