“Prior to putting my Atlanta home on the market in 2013 I decided to upgrade my modest size (100 sq. ft.), 1980’s vintage master bath/bedroom to enhance its value and appeal. After screening several local home remodelers I selected Homeworks based on their significant number of positive reviews. Work began in Aug. 2013. Within 2 months Homeworks installed new, high quality components including a vanity/mirror, jetted tub, picture window, shower area, vent fans and lighting with beautiful porcelain tile throughout. As a bonus, thanks to Homeworks attention to detail and design expertise, they were also able to add a very useful linen closet to the space. Concurrently, Homeworks updated the master bedroom with crown molding, new carpet and paint. The end product was a beautiful master suite which became a consistent source of compliments from prospective buyers and contributed to the quick sale of the home. Based on this experience I would strongly recommend Homeworks to anyone considering a similar project.”

“We chose Direct-Build out of 5 companies to do a major renovation ($156K) of our 2-story 1974 all-brick home, while we remained in the home. This included remodeling 2 full bathrooms, adding a half bathroom, removing a 20-foot loadbearing wall to double the size of our kitchen (which had to be completely gutted by Direct-Build), raising our kitchen ceiling from 7 ‘ to 8’ by replacing all drain lines in bathrooms above kitchen, creating a Master BR & BA on the main level (former LR / DR), shifting the dining room location, creating wall openings / doorways, creating an office space, adding a large deck, adding a front portico (based simply on a photo), adding built-in bookcases (based on a hand-drawn sketch), reworking exterior front & rear steps, adding a concrete walkway and large patio for our hot tub. Great communication and design ideas were key in selecting Direct-Build, and we were very pleased beginning with our initial meetings with Andre & Robert and throughout the project, with “Bill” as our job foreman. We appreciated them doing change orders to lower price of “Allowances” since we independently purchased appliances, some lighting, and tiles. Their recommendations on the cabinets and counter tops from their quality vendors were very good and reasonably priced. The carpentry, brick work, sheet-rock, hardwood floors, steel beam installation, electrical, plumbing, concrete, and tile work were all excellent. Andre pointed out that the specifications written by the independent structural engineer for the steel beam installation were not correct, and he contacted the engineer to get them re-drawn at no additional cost. We passed all county inspections throughout the process. Our project timeline was scoped at 3 to 4 months, and it was completed in exactly 4 months. There were no financial surprises! We would highly recommend Direct-Build to anyone.”

“Initially we met Christopher after meeting with several other contractors that we really didn't feel a connection with. From the start we were a little skeptical because we talked for over two hours and he took no notes or did any measuring. He gave us a list of inventory we needed to purchase and to our surprise is was more detailed list than the other contractor who spent 30 min or so measuring every little thing so we knew he was our guy. He sent over the next day a 4 page proposal with all of the details we talked about and few options we didn't . Our master bath project was underway. Everybody that came into our home was very pleasant professional cleaned up everyday and worked long hours. Victor the project manager was excellent in his communication skills and set our minds at ease. Our house was built in 1930 but our new bath is better than any 5 star in Vegas or the Caribbean , we know because we love to travel. We are beyond happy with what was done and will use Christopher again and have already referred him to a friend.”

“When David first came to give me a quote I was unsure about what to expect. He was one of a few contractors that we had come out to give us an estimate about the work we needed done and it was my first time dealing with a process like this. I have heard many stories about people getting screwed by contractors who are less capable than they put off and end up doing work that looks bad or is not at all what was specified in the contract. After talking with David over the course of the estimate time I had gained greater confidence in him. He seemed confident, knew what he was talking about, and was willing and able to answer any and all questions that I threw at him. The work that we were having done initially was no small feat, either—removal of a load bearing wall and replacing the floors in the entire bottom of our house with hardwood floors. After comparing costs on the contracts we received we decided to go with David because he seemed trustworthy and he quoted us a fair price. I should say at this point that my wife and I were going to attempt to do some kitchen remodeling ourselves during the course of this work. We knew we were a bit in over our heads but we wanted to gain some life experience and try something new. At one point David came over to assess the work again so that when he came back with his guys he knew exactly what he needed to do. When he saw what we were doing (carving out the dry-wall in the kitchen after we peeled the backsplash off) he gave us some advice on how we could do it better and even demonstrated some things to us. If that’s not excellent customer service, I don’t know what is! We were in and out of the house periodically to work on our stuff as David and his guys did their thing (we had not moved in yet). It was after a couple of weeks of our own work that we realized just how in over our heads we were. We had been talking with David about the kitchen work and he let us know that if we wanted he could do the kitchen work for us as well. He explained that he could help us get a pretty good deal on some new cabinets and countertops. He wasn’t pushy at all in this and just told us that it was something he could take on and do for us. We mulled it over and decided that if we were going as far as we were we might as well get it done by someone who knew what they were doing. While he was at it we also had him scrape the popcorn texture off of our ceilings and smooth it out. If you weren’t keeping track the list of things he did for us included (1) removing a load bearing wall and supporting it with a column (our choice due to cost), (2) replacing all flooring throughout bottom of house, (3) redoing kitchen (which included removing all old appliances and cabinets/countertops, fixing the walls we tore into, installing the cabinets, supervising countertop installation, and installing appliances (including a new range hood that vented to the outside!)), and (4) scraping the popcorn ceilings and re-finishing them to be smooth. He managed to get this done in 1.5 – 2 months and my wife and I could not have been happier with how it turned out. We were always happy with the progress when we came to visit the house and David was always happy to show things to us and keep us up to date. Any time there was an issue that required some decision making he had no issues giving me a call and explaining simply what the issue was, what needed to be done to fix it, and what cost, if any, there would be to us. I REALLY appreciated that. It made me feel like I was always in control of what was happening to my house and that we weren’t going to have any unexpected “surprises” down the line. Throughout the time he was there I got to know David a little bit and can say that I genuinely enjoyed talking with him. He’s a smart guy that really enjoys what he does and knows how to do it well. I liked him so much, in fact, that I even gave him the washer and dryer that came with our house so that he could give it to his mother, who needed a replacement. To sum up, I would recommend David to anyone looking to get some work done on their house. He was professional, timely, cost-conscious, and an all-around good guy. I know that if I have any work that needs professional help in the future I will be calling him again.”

“Snappy Kitchens and their team of professional installers were Great to work with! Mary Jo helped me stay within our budget and Keep my design ideas in place. She has many resources and a good eye for design to pull it all together. All of the installation team were professional, timely and cleaned up every day. They protected our floors and furniture and were always courteous. It was a pleasure working with Snappy and we are thrilled with our new beautiful master bath! The best part is that Mary Jo oversees the entire project day to day and makes sure you are happy with every step of the job. Trust me this is very important! Most contractors do not offer this and you will regret it if you try to go it on your own!”

“I have just finished my second project with ReDo and Rai Briceno. They are very good and professional. They are good at estimating their prices and stick with it unless something comes up that neither of us anticipated. I will continue to use them as my "go to guy" for various projects at the house.”
