“We were very fortunate to find Brian Morgan as a residential architect in Columbia. Brian designed our new custom home from the ground up by piecing together ideas we had been holding on to for what our “dream home” would look like for years. He is extremely professional and was very careful and conscientious about designing a home with our taste and style in mind rather than imposing on us what he thought was appealing. With that said, he did guide us with suggestions and ideas on how we could best execute our dream home in the smartest and most efficient manner. There is not a square foot of wasted space in our home and now that we are living in it we can see Brian’s intuitive design coming to life. During the design process Brian was able to remember the tiniest details of how we wanted to have our home designed as well as features that we wanted to include. During the construction process he guided the contractors to ensure that nothing was forgotten. “Aarow Building is the best contractor I've ever used. They are doing a remodel of two bathrooms, replacing back stairs with an upstairs half bath, remodeling and combining two bedrooms into a one-room master suite that includes a walk-in closet, remodeling and combining a kitchen, dining room and living room into a great room area, replacing the front door, adding a mantel and installing a "garage-door-opener-driven" dumbwaiter. The crew all work directly for Aarow and most of them are college-educated. They are flexible and professional and they have been especially sensitive to the needs of my elderly mother who has dementia. They treat her with respect and took great pains to make her bathroom more accessible. Jake Bruton, Aarow's owner (who succeeded his father after 30 years in the business) comes every morning and we go over what got done the day before and consult about what will happen that day. He has a great attitude and we truly make decisions together. He meets me at stores when I am struggling with choices. Jake has guided the entire project, from design to completion (which happens next week). He has an art degree, which gives him a more nuanced understanding of design. Jake takes pride in the quality of the work and has redone many small things just to make sure we're completely satisfied (releveled a sink and tp holder, switched out a vanity, moved outlets, switched out a mirror, etc.). My only small complaint is that the project has taken longer than projected and is ending a bit close to Christmas. It's not all their fault because of unanticipated termite damage and mold. In the middle of the project, Jake had to terminate someone who was chronically late and I supported him in that, even though we lost some time. He is currently making an all-out push to make up lost time and get done, even pulling in his father to help. I would highly recommend this contractor. The overall experience has been very positive.”
