“We underwent a massive remodel of an untouched 1967 home. We had multiple walls removed and completely revamped the space creating an open kitchen/dining/living space. As first-time remodelers, we really wanted a lot of support throughout the process because we didn't even know where to begin! Mountainwood met and surpassed all of our expectations. We also remodeled in a time during the pandemic when tradespeople, supplies, and the whole industry were so backed up. Despite this, Mountainwood was able to get everything done on a super reasonable timeline and budget. The best part of the experience was the people and customer service. All the Mountainwood team members were kind, genuine, and helpful people. Same goes for the subcontractors and tradespeople. We overall had a wonderful and smooth experience even though this was a huge project (to us at least!), and I 100% recommend Mountainwood!”

“I purchased the 4 bedroom house in 1998. The house was built in early 1970. The main level of the house was in two levels separated by only 2 steps. The bedrooms were on the upper floor, large bedrooms and small bathrooms. The kitchen on the main floor was small. In 2005 I was in a small aircraft accident which paralyzed me from my waist down. With the main floor having two levels and the bedrooms upstairs made the house a challenge for a wheelchair. We loved the location, the 2.5 acres and the neighbors. We put in a few ramps and a seat that goes upstairs to get me to the bedrooms as a temporary fix and put the house up for sale, just as the market took a crash. After a year, we were introduced to SunSwallow Design, that did a bathroom remodel for one of our neighbors. We met with Chris Robinson to talk about remodeling our house. The first meeting lasted about 4 hours and Chris asked many questions about how we wanted to use the house. Some of the base requirements were to make it fully usable by my wheelchair. All hallways needed to be wide, all closets accessible, including the pantry. The laundry room needed to be configured, so I could wash, dry, iron and fold clothes. The kitchen had to accommodate cooking at my level as well as a normal level. The basement and upstairs had to be accessible. A month later Chris came back with an amazing design that practically rebuilt our 70's house into a modern Frank Lloyd Write inspired dream home, that got featured in The Oregonian early last year. Not only is the house fully functional it is a work of art in itself.”
