Bankside Design Studio

We have the highest praise for the excellent quality of work from Bankside Design Studio in 2 major projects in our home over the course of almost 2 years. In the first project, Kathy Hurley of Bankside worked with our Design/Build Contractor, Slotegraaf, to create over 600 sq feet of living space in a new covered porch with cedar ceiling, retractable screens all around, and a gas fireplace with outdoor TV. Kathy’s vision, attention to detail, and architectural experience enabled our Builder ( also high praise for their skill) to create a beautiful new outdoor living space that is a bug-free comfortable space for lounging, dining, and afternoon naps! Everyone who visits is in awe of this space. The following year, we contracted Frontiers of Guelph to renovate our kitchen/family room space. Again, we employed Kathy at Bankside to work with this company to design and oversee the project. Kathy has an eye for detail. Throughout the project she spotted and corrected even the smallest item that did not conform to her plan, often without our having noticed it ourselves. This project included a sleek, minimalist vibe throughout the space, with a gorgeous kitchen from Paragon of Guelph (we also enjoyed working with their very knowledgeable designers) and gas fireplace with built in display cabinets. This project has been completed for 6 months and we truly enjoy spending time here. Kathy worked closely with us during many in person meetings as we hammered out ideas and gradually came to our final design. She listened and responded to our needs and personal style, to create 2 beautiful projects to transform our home. We highly recommend Kathy Hurley and her team at Bankside Design. We enjoyed working with her and truly love the result of her vision, skill, and experience.

Chloe at Bankside Design Studios was a dream to work with! As novice bathroom renovators, we were looking for guidance, and Chloe delivered beyond our expectations. She helped us select both practical and beautiful elements that fit perfectly within our budget. Kathy came to us through a reference. My wife and I were having a difficult time pulling everything together and really focusing on what should/would make the most impact to our real estate investment…our newly built custom home. We worked with Bankside Design Studio on our cottage. Kathy's ideas brought our dream to life in the renderings she provided and then in reality. The details are what makes it all come together and I would have been lost without her. One of her top recommendations (of a long list) was this light which hangs down in our great room which is open through to the second floor. Very professional. Design was very well done and is very user friendly! Communication was great, many interactions with Designer and all steps were completed professionally. Designer helped us with the purchase of materials and searches for contractors and other tradesmen to complete project. Very thorough with all aspects of project.
