The Bohannon team prepared our architectural plan for a 2nd floor addition, and we are thrilled with how it turned out. The first version of the plan met all our goals (both required and nice to have), and did so in a way that was creative (in figuring out where to put the staircase), thoughtful as to how the space was going to be used and thinking through how the most cost effective way of building the addition. We came back to Wendy, Sarah and Ashley with some changes to the project plan (how to add in a sauna room) and they figured out a way to make it all work. We are currently in the process of building the addition, and plan to use the Bohannon team to help with finishes once we get to that stage. We interviewed two other architects and can confidently say that we made the right choice.

My wife and I worked with the Bohannon Design Team to create house plans for the house we wanted to build on some land we had recently purchased. The entire process, from initial contact to finished plans, could not have been better. From scheduling, to feedback, to status meetings, their communication was fantastic. And our final plans: so beautiful! The house reflects our personality, has all the things we were hoping it would and many other thoughtful design choices suggested by our designer. We could not be happier with the final product and would highly recommend Bohannon Design to anyone looking to design house plans.

The single best decision we made when facing a major renovation of a house we'd just bought, was to hire Bohannon Design Team. The house had a very weird (an understatement) layout and was closed off and did not at all fit into the way we live. We worked with Sarah Starnes and the design team, and will end up with a house that very much suits our lifestyle. Everyone at Bohannon was endlessly patient about doing adjustments to the original design until we got it just right. We were always made to feel that getting it perfect for us was the ultimate goal. It was a pleasure working with Sarah and Wendy and I would highly recommend Bohannon.

Sarah and Wendy were attentive, flexible and incredibly creative with including our needs and wants into the design. Anytime we had an ask of them, the answer was always “yes” followed with multiple options for how to achieve what we wanted. Ultimately, every single thing we threw at them they somehow managed to incorporate into this perfect floor plan. Even after the design was finalized, the team was more than happy to answer follow up questions, address issues and provide guidance on design/aesthetics. We simply couldn’t be happier with their work and don’t feel that anyone else could have exceeded our expectations like they did. Would 100% recommend to anyone and we have. Our parents are currently using the Bohannon Design Team for their new home and are also very impressed by their service thus far.

The can-do attitude, professionalism, the personal communication, the attention to detail, the ability to work with our schedule, and the fact that they were truly a delight to interact with and work with makes Direct Home Design stand out as a top-notch custom home design firm! I had quite a number of very specific things I wanted to incorporate in our home along the way, and Wendy and team always treated me with the utmost respect and were able to incorporate those beautifully, in a timely manner. She also provided cost-savings suggestions and was able to do a post-bid update for us, which saved us thousands of dollars with a few additional changes from my original selections. Wendy made herself available to answer my questions via phone or email, so much so, that I didn't even realize the size of her team initially. I have been using her for a significant remodeling effort on a newly purchased home for the past several months, and have always been completely satisfied. Wendy does an excellent job, is always punctual, and offers the most competitive rates in town. She has also made herself available on occasion by providing extra assistance with tasks such as, site inspections, meeting with contractors, and assisting in selecting flooring, appliances, color coordination, etc. These services are appreciated since we are currently in California and she is very open and communicative in supporting our project. Working with Wendy and the Direct Home Design team was an excellent experience. I chose Wendy because I liked the idea of working with another woman who would be willing to listen and incorporate ALL my ideas and plan details. She did just that! I was very particular about our plan design, but needed an expert’s opinion and experience to help create the correct flow, feel and look I wanted to achieve. She accommodated all my “wants” and also helped me to achieve my desire to minimize wasted space. Wendy and her team kept me informed throughout the entire process and they were quick to respond if I contacted them, whether it be phone, text, or email. We were/are very pleased with the final product. We are excited to begin the building process this month. And if we ever build again, I will definitely have Wendy draw up our next set of plans!

As an aspiring homeowner with a strong architectural interest, we came to Wendy with a plan in mind and sketches on paper. However, our lot demanded tight dimensioning and rearranging of the “perfect” home to fit those dimensions. Wendy took my dreams and rearranged them to fit, injected lots of design ideas to protect me from myself, and most importantly took my simple one-line drawings and converted them into a builder’s package. Wendy is very creative, energetic and willing to entertain new ideas. She is not afraid to tell you the pitfalls of your dreams and if you are willing to listen, she can meld together the best of your ideas and hers to result in functional and beautiful house plan. We have returned to Wendy many times during construction to alter our original plans for new ideas we encountered. Ultimately she did our as-built drawings, so we have accurate drawings of the house that was built.

We are so lucky to have found Wendy through Help U Build to design our home. We came to the project with an idea in our head and the sketch that looked like a five year old's and she designed a gorgeous home for us. It is so easy to work with Wendy. I became ill during the project and we were able to work over the computer and phone perfectly. She had wonderful suggestions when we hit a problem with our ideas that we could not figure out. My wife and I wanted to renovate our home. We had a good idea of what we wanted to do but we weren't really sure if it was possible. Wendy came to our rescue. We simply sat with her in our home for a consultation then she took some measurements. Wendy immediately went to work. After reviewing Direct Home Designs information on Houzz, I decided to contact Wendy. She promptly returned my call. We set up a meeting within the next couple of days to discuss new house plans. After sitting down with her and discussing my "wants" and my attempts to sketch the layout, I knew she was the perfect person to design our new home. She really listened to what we liked and didn't like. She asked questions on how our current house functioned. She brought up items we hadn't even thought about! Needless to say, our new house plans are wonderful. We will be breaking ground soon and I can't wait to post pictures so everyone can see how great Wendy's work is!
