Brick and batten helped tremendously in providing a vision for our large exterior remodel. I had met with several contractors and even an architect and what was missing from the start were ideas! And a clear direction. The design service was exactly what I needed to feel comfortable moving ahead and brick and batten delivered! The price is worth every penny, customer service wonderful to work with, and the deliverable is amazing in that it also provides direction and product links (which we used). Our full remodel took a year and a half to complete and I’m certain to say that I wouldn’t be as happy as I am without the help. Thank you!!

I went back and forth for months on whether or not I wanted to try and invest in this. I am so glad I did. The whole process was easy and the designers listened to what I wanted and created a design that is beautiful, functional, and that I am so excited about. It was well worth the cost. My follow-up questions were answered promptly and the revision process was seamless. I am grateful for what Brick and Batten provides and the talented team of individuals who make it a reality.

We used Brick&Batten for a facelift on our home and it came out so nice! They gave us a few design options to choose from, with all the materials and paint colors/brands so that we would have everything ready to go. The home turned out so nice and for a very affordable price we got a designer done job! Worth every penny and highly recommend.

Brick and Batten was the perfect fit for our needs. Our gut reno project was underway and decisions had to be made for the exterior design....siding vs stucco vs stone veneer etc along with paint colors. Despite already having architectural plans, we were still not 100% on board with the existing design and color scheme. B&B helped bring things to "life" with their amazing renderings and they even added a few elements we hadn't thought of, which enabled us to more comfortably make some final choices. The service is such good value in our opinion because the last thing we want is to have costly work redone. Thank you Hayden and team for being so professional and making the process as simple as can be.

Do not waste your money on this service. They did not listen to some of my non-negotiables in the first draft of the exterior redesign, and they did not do anything spectacular after the complementary redo. I basically paid $800 to have someone add wood accents on top of my windows, paint my house all white (even though I specified any neutral color will be ok), and add an awning on top of the garage. They do have any creativity. It looked like they assigned my project to an unpaid intern. Avoid them if possible.

Start here! This service alone with save you so much TIME and so much MONEY! I highly recommend it. We sent a picture of our 1938 home and they sent us back 4 paint color schemes to choose from. One of which was nearly identical to my vision. We went with the one of the color schemes and I am so happy with how it turned out! The designers do a great job and the service takes about 2 weeks. It's exhausting and overwhelming trying to decide between dozens of whites that all look the same and dozens of trim colors. Pay Brick & Batten and you will be pleasantly surprised with a vision of your home you hadn't thought of or a confirmation of your vision, either way, you will be so happy and relieved!

I was introduced to Brick & Batten via a Google search and great reviews without prior knowledge to how they work and the end product. We are building our dream retirement lake house. I sent our blueprints, filled out the questionnaire about style likes, colors, etc. and WOW was I ecstatically surprised!! The ideas that were generated were stunning. We were allowed a revision and we didn't change a thing - I just asked for different paint color options to see what it would look like. We're going to use 100% of what was put together for our house by the Brick & Batten team. I feel the service was wonderful, they really understood what I wanted, they were pretty quick, and the pictures really helped our HOA to see what we had planned. I was having real difficulty envisioning a redesign to my older house, I just knew it needed "something". brick & batten sent me a redesign in two different colors that were just what I had in mind. they were also kind enough to do one last revision I wanted to see. I received my design in less than two weeks. I would highly recommend them.

This is incredible! It is so nice to see the photo version of what is in your mind and then even better. Brick and Batten did a wonderful job on our house. We gave them the current blueprint and the new ideas penned onto a napkin and they came up with a wonderful design, driveway, landscape, rockwork and covered entry. covered patio and a new three car garage. Then, if you can believe it, they sent all of the links to purchase the products they listed!!! This was well worth the money and they were 5 days early too!

I was struggling with a flat facade and an Architect that wasn't bringing any life to it. My frustration in the situation led me to look for a designer. Initially I couldn't find any exterior designers, hundreds of interior designers though. I stumbled on Brick and Batten in my search. It wasn't a super easy decision to part with so much cash and hand my baby over to strangers, but their before and after renderings had me place my trust in them. The changes they made were minimal but very effective, this is exactly what good design does, like a great editor cuts through the noise to reveal the best within. While on the higher price point (approx $1200 canadian) I can say the funds saved me further frustration with my architect as well as prevented me from spending money on things I wouldn't 'get right' while trying to 'get it right." It would have been a touch more helpful if Brick and Batten had sourced Canadian Companies for the products they used for this Canadian Customer, if they desire to expand internationally I would encourage them to consider this. Having said this, the products they used in my rendering won't be difficult to source similar in my area. I did like the 'link to product' and thought it a clever feature. For the $1200 Canadian I recieve one front rendering and one change. It would have been helpful if I could have changed just one more thing at no extra cost, as combining some of the first rendering with some of the second rendering would have resulted, for me, a fully finished, final product. As it sits, I would have to pay another $200 american to see a fully finished rendering. Brick and Batten used the information and inspiration photos I provided and produced a very good product, delivered in a timely fashion, and within the time they specified. I appreciated this. If you like the before and after renderings on their website and blog, it is highly likely that you will like what they design for you.

I would definitely recommend brick & batten to anyone looking to give the exterior of their home some curb appeal. Brick and batten were fantastic to work with! They took into account my style preferences and gave us a rendering that we love. We are really looking forward to making it a reality.

We had an idea of what we wanted the exterior of our house to look like but just struggled with the small details to make it all come together. With just a small amount of direction the designers at Brick&Batten created a design that matched our vision perfectly but with so much more detail and elements than we could have imagined on our own. Oh, wow. Just…wow. I spent so many hours trying to figure out how to improve the exterior of my natural stone home. It’s all natural stone and over-the-top in many ways. Neither the designer nor the builder and especially not I - none of us could have come up with such a balanced and creative way to improve the house. It’s incredible. Not only that, B&B set my expectation for a delivery date and met it that morning. Creative, professional, timely and blew me - and everyone involved in this project - away. I can’t wait to get started!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Excellent experience with our lake front property. The detail provided by Brick & Batten was excellent. We hired NCR Construction (Harvard, IL) and they were able to follow the design and utilize the recommendations for color, material, etc. Our contractor was extremely impressed with the level of detail in just a rendering and said it was one of his most fun projects. It looks like we have a brand-new home! In addition to the screen porch, windows, doors, decking and siding, we also updated the hardscape (patio, retaining walls, walkways and stairs) and used another excellent company, Landscape Construction Corp in Richmond, IL. Our neighbors are amazed; we have boaters driving by and asking about the transformation. Of course, we are thrilled to recommend Brick & Batten and also our contractors.

We engaged with Brick & Batten to provide some inspiration to update the exterior of our home. They incorporated our direction and inspirational photos and came up with more than we could have imagined! We followed Brick & Batten's design recommendations on most all of their suggestions and our house now looks beautiful! See the attached "before", "rendering" and "after" photos as proof.

The team did a wonderful job incorporating some of my ideas and then pushing the concepts further than I had considered. It felt collaborative and they were on time and very responsive throughout the process.

I love the exterior home design I received back from Brick & Batten! They asked a variety of questions up front to help ensure I was getting what I wanted. For example, am I interested in changing windows and do I want to paint the brick. The design they sent me had a few things that I envisioned and a few that I hadn't thought of before and looked great. I did request one edit afterwards to add a walkway that I forgot to ask about before the first design. They turned that around pretty quickly. All in all, a great experience!

The rendering provided by Brick & Batten was invaluable in our remodel process. We had interviewed numerous contractors and service providers at the beginning of the process and NO one could envision our plan. I had crafted a rough sketch in powerpoint but it was not until we received the rendering that the vision truly came to life. Once we had the final from Bridk & Batten we were off to the races. The process was efficient and timely. We did not have to wait months for a drawing and revisions were provided quickly. When spending large sums of money it is super helpful to have a professional weigh in on choices, as well as provide tools for all of the contractors to ensure a unified vision of the end goal. We are still working on the front deck, but the photos will show the transformation. When we start our plan for the back of the house we will absolutely use Brick & Batten!

I have had such positive experience with Brick&Batten. I found this company online, really liked some of the photos they showed online so I tried their service. Prior to that, I had used another houzz designer, was not happy with the work at all, I wanted white, she gave black sort of thing. Brick& Batten took the time to listen to my input, asked me to supply some photos that I like so they get a sense on what kind of style I like. They delivered on time, with exceeding expectation result. During the process, they communicated with me, on certain things whether I'm open to other options. On the free revision, they designed some different options even without me asking. I feel good value of my money even though it is three times more than what I spent on previous designer. I basically wasted my money with a designer that is no good, but I feel good value with Brick&Batten. Overall very happy with the outcome. Their business model makes so much sense. I would definitely go to Brick&Batten for all my future projects, they give me confidence and peace of mind.

Brick & Batten really listened to what I was looking for, which is impressive all by itself. They redesigned the front of a very plain rancher, incorporating a bit of an Asian feeling that flows with the existing bamboo growing. We asked for an expanded entry porch with a new portico, and they gave us a deck across the front of the house which I would never have thought of. It’s a very complete and sophisticated design, including lighting and hardscape entry path, paint colors and a complete vendor source list for components. Thank you, Brick & Batten! I would hire you again in a heartbeat!

But I went for it, mainly knowing how long it would take me to make decisions, and how I have no actual design experience myself. The designers absolutely nailed the look I was going for! Oh my word! I am completely blown away with the design for our home from Brick & Batten! This was my only wish for Christmas & I don’t think I’ve ever gotten anything that I’ve loved more. They were able to take our 1970’s French Provincial that stuck out like a sore thumb-ha…to a beautiful, up to date, classic of today! Me and my husband could not be more pleased and we can’t wait to get the renovations started in the new year!! The process was a piece of cake and the outcome was absolutely delicious!! Poor design and poor attentional to the detail . I gave this company a try because I saw the review at Hozz.co.nz Paid USD $ 1400 , but end up have a design worth Much much less than that . I sent an email to the CEO-LIsa and told her that we are Very disappointed that all the side of the wall is in vertical ! Not a good design . The reason I used the company service because I can see some of their work that they did for their customer that the design is very appealing . But not to our design at all . But end up she replied something like " I don't care if you like it or not , we did a great job and pay more if you want to have another amendment " ( We only asked for the detail added BECAUSE they missed it in the image ! not a amendment at all !) Be Careful if you are looking for professional outlook design service for your new build , it is not the company you should work with .

I stumbled upon brick&batten online and loved what I saw It was time to paint our house and decided to see what ideas they might have. I was a little nervous since I knew Nothing about the company, but decided to just go for it. I’m so happy with the decision! They were GREAT to work with, and I am thrilled with their design ideas! If you are considering giving them a try, just do it. You will not regret it!

So I found Brick & Batten while searching the internet for exterior house remodels. I did my research on them and found very good reviews and only a couple bad ones (those are to be expected). The costs for what they do was kind of scary to me, but I know it would be much more expensive to hire a local designer to do this work. I wasn't afraid of paying for the service, but I was scared because I was dealing with an online company that I truly knew nothing about. After several weeks of thinking, I pulled the trigger and said "go for it". I paid for 2 sides of my house with 2 different colors. After waiting 14 business days (waiting in anticipation) I received my product. Let's just say that I was in shock and in love!!! They not only gave me what I asked for, but more. They threw in an extra color choice and several other design options. The outcome blew my husbands mind. Neither one of us could visualize our 80's house with an overhaul. We are both so impressed and satisfied with the results. There isn't 1 item that I would change. I've attached the photo of my house (the horrible orange brick) and 1 of their ideas. I don't know if anyone else agrees, but WOW!!! The new design is spot on what I wanted. I'm thrilled and feel it was money well spent. Now it's off to find a contractor to get the work done. If you have second thoughts.....just do it.

I'm so happy I made this small incremental investment in my exterior refresh - it was so worth it! They took all my input into consideration and turned around my new design in one week. They transformed my boring mid-80s house into a house worthy of any Street of Dreams home. All of their recommendations were budget friendly and spot on with current trends, yet timeless style that will keep me smiling for years to come.

I recently engaged Brick & Batten to complete a redesign of our home in suburban PA and have to say, the quality of work was incredible. From the initial interaction, CEO Lisa W was professional and knowledgeable and immediately made us feel like we were in good hands. I've completed large scale renovations on a number of properties but when planning to do our own home, my wife and I couldn't quite put out finger on exactly what we wanted. We paid for 2 different design options; one where we were very prescriptive and a second where we gave the B&B team carte blanche to do what they wanted. I'm so pleased we did, the second option was beautiful and contained elements we'd never have considered including. The team also went over and above by including a couple of additional design tweaks outside of those that we paid for - definitely a nice touch. I can't recommend Brick & Batten enough, the value for money is absolutely there and the quality of the renderings are second to none.

My husband and I were absolutely thrilled with the designs we got from brick&batten! We recently invested in a very unattractive office building and we were finding it very challenging to figure out how to make it appealing. My husband and I purchased a 1960s home in our neighborhood we already lived in. I used to walk by our current home on walks and always knew it had such a great potential. They went above and beyond what I could imagine. I bought my "beast" and they made it into a beauty. Saved me so much time from trying to figure it out myself.

To say we have a unique house feels like an understatement. I have been told it is California contemporary and it was built in the early 80s. When it came time to make the rather large investment in James Hardie siding there wasn't much inspiration I could gather from like homes in the area or my plentiful internet searches; so I knew I was going to need professionals! At first I thought I could rely on my contractors, but quickly realized that these individuals lacked the aesthetic knowledge that I needed. I am so thankful that I stumbled upon Brick & Batten. They were absolutely amazing. Now, don't get me wrong- It was a process to get to the finished product, but they "virtually" held my hand the whole way. Communication is key and the team was great to work with. Don't hesitate to reach out with your feedback. It definitely was an investment, but when I look at the expense of the total job it was less than 2% of the total budget. To have the piece of mind that I was making the right choices- to me that is priceless.

Their work is top class. You won't regret hiring them. Completed my design in a timely manner and was willing to accommodate small changes.

We had an off the charts incredible experience with brick&batten! We were completely overwhelmed with choices and brining it all together. Finally, we decided to pull the trigger and get help. Best money spent! Can't wait to get started. They made it incredibly easy and even provided people for us to contact for our doors and windows. I have already told 3 friends who are using them.

Brick and Batten did a good job - I like what they did to my house and will be using their plan. However, I felt really disappointed with the lack of information they gave with the deliverable. Just a link to the vendor- no description on the product or anything else. I feel like for the money you are spending, they could be a little more detailed giving you the resources instead of being lazy and just giving a link. I also asked for a redesign for a color - and they didn't obviously read my request because I got back the same thing with just a window taken off above my door (it wasn't compatible with our home structure which I told them also when I requested the redesign.) Rather than request again I just let ago, but I did feel like they didn't take too much care in really reading my request or checking to see if I was satisfied and that was disappointing. Mostly though -Brick & Batten should be able to give a more detailed write up of what sources or change they are recommending. That they aren't - is incredibly disappointing.

I followed brick and batten for several years before finally deciding to dish almost $1000 to have them redesign the exterior of my home. This was a huge risk bc they do not offer refunds. I am an artist myself, a graphic designer. I spent a lot of time in photoshop trying to redesign the exterior of my home. And I wasn’t especially impressed with anything I came up with. After years and years of looking at the designs Brick and Batten posted on their Instagram, I decided to take a chance on them. I had become convinced that they possessed a skill set that I did not. I spent 3 years saving the money to pay for this. When I laid eyes on the design they sent back I had an instant upset stomach. They had essentially just painted my house white, added wood headers to the window, and metal awning and porch. Worst of all I had already come up with this same exact solution myself for FREE. I had designed the same thing myself in photoshop but was unimpressed. It just seemed so basic . I was convinced they would give me something more impressive. But, sadly they did not. They give you an opportunity to ask for a change of a single element. I asked them is they could add more warm the and character. In response they tacked another awning on the the house and change my black garage to a wood one. It was painfully disappointing. I will give them credit that they came up with a valuable solution for adding a porch to my home. They elongated the stairs and eliminated the need for a rail. But in the end I believe I paid a thousand dollars for what couldn’t have take much more than about an hour of their time. I am absolutely DEVASTATED. I feel that my odds of being a satisfied customer would have improved if they had given at least 2 totally different renditions of my home and style test as a consultation. A time when I could show them the types of things that I like. I wrote them an embarrassingly long paragraph about the things I like and I feel they gave me the most basic and effortless design. I almost wish they had completely redesigned the exterior of my home sparing no expense. At least then I would have learned of more possibilities. It’s heartbreaking for me to see that some of the designs they come up with that are worth ever bit of the $900 and others (like mine) are not worth more that $250. I cannot recommend Brick and Batten for people with middles class income. My husband and I are teachers. We don’t make a lot of money and I still tear up every time I look at the design they sent me for the money I paid. My advice is to get your best artist friends around you, buy them a nice dinner and take turns brainstorming. You are likely to save yourself $1000.

Great turnaround and customer service. To be honest, we were not sure we wanted to spend the money for a design, but we are so glad we did! It was definitely worth it, and we cannot wait to implement the changes to our home. We will be using Brick and Batten again in a few weeks to get a design for the other side of the house, and are excited to see what they come up with. I highly recommend you spend the money, it's worth it.

The front exterior of our home presented a few challenges and each one that I described to the Brick and Batten team was met head on. The solutions were beyond expectation as were the color choices for paint. They integrated the aspects that we were happy with in a seamless way. Loved the concept when I discovered Brick & Batten. I loved the process and working with Katrina. I loved the finished design she created for us. My only regret is not having found them before we completed expensive enhancements to our exterior that I was not happy with! The price spent before a project would be well worth it. Completely exceeded my expectations! We purchased a 1900 Victorian cottage a few months ago. The home is very dated and lacked curb appeal. I was little apprehensive about using an online design company but decided it was well worth the cost considering the investment we're going to be making on our exterior remodel. Best exterior design service in the marketplace! My designs were gorgeous and the process was quick and efficient. Katrina was extremely responsive regarding my questions and my revisions! I would absolutely recommend the service for someone trying to visualize the full potential of their home!

Brick & Batten came up with an idea for the front of my house that was absolutely gorgeous and I’m certain I would never have come up with that idea on my own. That alone makes working with them phenomenal! The ONLY reason for four stars is the process. There’s little opportunity for collaboration. The client has 48 hours to change a single element. Everything else is charged for. I “used” my one change to replace the shutters in my original design so I wound up having to take the design to an architect on Fiverr to make the additional adjustments I wanted to the design (the original porch design was way too deep for our needs). However, in the end I have just over $1000 invested (between both B&B and Fiverr) and a perfect design to take to my contractor now. So I am very happy!

I purchased my "fixer upper" several years ago and while completely transforming the inside, the outside was just maintained. With one of the smallest, and plain brick homes in the neighborhood, my tired little fixer upper needed the same love and attention on the outside. I’ve had a great experience with this company! They did a beautiful design for my home. We painted our 30 yr old brick home and they picked out some amazing colors that ended up looking as good in real life as they did in the picture. Lighting suggestions were perfect as well! I’ve been able to reach back out when I’ve had questions and they’ve responded almost immediately to every question I’ve had. Highly recommend! Completely worth every cent!

I was tired of being on the "s" list in our neighborhood for everything, so I found brick&batten, took a look at what they have done over the years (with houses of all sizes) and jumped. I was thrilled with the results! Although I asked for two options, I got four. And as I was a bit confused having never done this before, Katrina (our designer) answered every single one of my questions the SAME day I asked them. They listened to what I liked and responded with something that showed this fact. We are thrilled and can't wait to get started!

WOW! Brick&Batten did not disappoint! Cassie, Katrina, and team were so professional, responsive and had tons of creative ideas for our property. It's time for us to make some exterior updates (windows, walkway, house paint) and before we did these costly projects, it gives us peace of mind that we are making the right design and purchase decisions. The B&B team had amazing suggestions and their renderings looked like photographs! On top of that, they provided a document with links to the sources of the items in their design. We were so happy with the front design, we decided to add on the back of the house! It's worth the investment - do it! :-)

I cannot say enough positive things about this company. We had them do our virtual exterior design a few months ago and have been able to implement a decent amount of the ideas (it's a fixer upper so we are taking our time!). We have been stopped by multiple neighbors complimenting the changes, asking where we got our numbers, how we came up with the colors, etc. Not only was their product exactly what we were hoping for, their professionalism and responsiveness was incredible. They truly helped get our house in the right direction, answered countless questions (as I am not a color or design expert by any means!!) and also worked with us on options that we could do now (with the hope of completing in the future). I am so happy we did this, we will keep their design forever and can't wait to add it all!!! They turned our eye sore into something we absolutely love. We used brick&batten to get a virtual exterior design of our home and we couldn't be happier! They took all of our desires for our home, such as making our entry feel more welcoming, and created a cohesive and beautiful plan. We personally enjoy working on our home and updating things ourselves, so this allows us to have a visual guide/master plan, without using a builder or contractor. So now, when we need to replace windows, shingles, doors, paint, etc, we know exactly what to do! We definitely recommend brick&batten!

I highly recommend brick&batten. We made plans to redo the exterior of our house in the Catskills and I didn't know where to start. The weather is hot, it is cold, it is rainy and snowy, and we get a lot of sun. Plus the house is old and prior owners added random additions over the years so the exterior is not very cohesive. So I needed help to make my vision reality and brick&batten did just that! Now I have a cohesive design that isn't just practical but fits my aesthetic. They are also super responsive and even launched a social media campaign to help me figure out which color to go with for the exterior. All of this for a reasonable price! This is money well spent, for sure.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Brick & Batten and would definitely recommend hiring them before tackling any costly curb appeal projects. I had been putting together a long wish list of different looks over the years (shutters or no shutters, exterior paint colors, garage doors, front entry doors, roof/gutter combos, landscaping etc) but wasn't sure what would look best. Before making costly improvements, B&B worked with me and put together a digital rendering which included my wish list along with their fabulous suggestions. AND--B&B included links to where I could find all of the products/paint samples/vendors depicted in the digital renderings. AND--Cassie was super helpful (and patient!!) and gave me great feedback and recommendations. B&B is the utmost in professionalism, knowledge, and customer service--What an amazing company!!!

This past December we bought an old, red brick ranch that needed complete updating. The exterior stumped us and we were second guessing our ideas. I hired brick & batten after hours searching online. We feared their final design might be more than we could handle, but t was perfect for us. The suggestions were all doable. They listened to what we wanted, considering the neighborhood, type of house, feeling of house. We are excited about completing this project. I need a new look for my 'salt-box' style house, and wanted my ideas evaluated, enhanced, and professionally incorporated into a drawing I could show the contractor. I am very happy with the results, and with the personal care I was given. My questions were thoroughly and quickly answered. I highly recommend this company for any design needs.

Unfortunately I can not recommend brick&batten. We had high hopes but the design was simplistic and amounted to changing the windows, front door, and garage door even though we had mentioned we were interested in siding, new gutters, etc. When we requested an iteration on the design to add siding, we were informed that there was a 48 hour window to request such a change and they denied our request. Apparently this is because they subcontract the design work and the sub only retains the file for 48 hrs. But none of this was disclosed upfront. Definitely not worth the $800 fee.

This company did an amazing job on our family owned hotel! My whole family and friends were so attracted to All the new pictures especially from before after pictures! Everything was so detailed and nicely organized with links that I didn’t expect to get additional assistance to find all the material. For such a nice one time fee for each photo! I don’t think any other company can beat such pricing! All the ladies especially Cassie was so prompt with all my questions! I loved how all the ideas/colors were so modern. I’ll be soon sending over my other property!

Completely thrilled with my experience! Going through this process was such a pleasure for me and I was over the moon excited with the final result. I had "pinterested" myself to death trying to determine each of the design details for my home's exterior. I was not confident in the direction I was going and wasn't sure how it would all look in the end. brick & batten was exactly what I needed. They were so easy to work and communicate with. I hired Brick & Batten to help design a new exterior for my house. I sent them a few photos of the space and some of the thoughts I had about what we'd like to have/see and they created an absolutely beautiful design that met every need on my list. I love the design and am getting ready to put it into place! I can't wait for the finished product! The designers were very personable and asked many good questions, pointed out things and had incredible suggestions. I had Brick and Batten do a "facelift" on my house. They were excellent, I followed all of their suggestions, although I am still working on the stonework they suggested. Cassie was wonderful to work with, they give you ideas and places to get the items, e.g planters, lights & door. I have recommended them to friends and will use them again for my family members. I very highly recommend them. I could not have been more satisfied.

It is so hard for me to visualize what exterior updates would look like on my house. We have a home built in the 60s and have slowly started changing things. To have Brick & Batten be able to show you visually what different updates would look like is SO helpful! They do such a great job!
