About Us

First Coast Drafting and Design is an architectural design firm that specializes in the development of residential house plans, where we know that "every dream home starts with a plan". Our goal is simple...we always want to exceed expectations by truly understanding our clients' visions and needs. We listen, then we translate what we hear into a design that works for the client on every level...functionally, aesthetically, and financially...bringing our clients one step closer to their dream home. We have had the privilege of working with individual clients as well as some of the best local designers and builders in Jacksonville, Florida. This real world experience gives us the knowledge and ability to provide the best service to our clients. We also try to provide a faster turn-around time than larger firms, while still providing a high quality of work. We value all of our clients and understand that a home is much more than just a place to live.

We hired Art to help us turn our design into a beautiful home by drafting the architectural plan. This was by far the worst experience we have ever had with a draftsman and/or architect(my husband is a builder). There was little to no communication from Art, he never called and rarely emailed and asked questions or clarifications. We used his plans and they were riddled with errors which cost us additional, in the field change orders and maybe worst of all, he delayed us by months. Please do yourself a favor and find a different draftsman!

Art has great communication skills and can take what is written in an email or communicated in a phone call and articulate it clearly in his drafting abilities so I can communicate my plans clearly to my clients to deliver the best execution of their ideas in a visible plan. His responsiveness is beyond the norm. He listens well and asks the questions needed to delivery a quality product.

We purchased a piece of property on Amelia Island and wanted a house that reflected a mix of modern Old Florida and Low Country style- if that even exists. Enter Arthur. In our initial meeting, Art was extremely professional, listened to our ideas and has done a great job of expanding on them. Despite the fact that we have been mostly working together with him on the Atlantic and us on the Pacific for now, Art has done a great job in working with us to bring our dreams a reality. Highly recommend Art for new build or remodel design.

Art came recommended from an Engineer friend of mine when looking to renovate/create an addition to my own home. Art exceed all expectations which is not common in the Design/Construction industry these days. Being a General Contractor myself, I quickly saw the benefits in using his services for my own business. Art has now designed several of our spec home plans and delivered as promised every time. Since, I have also referred his services to several other friends in the industry. A++ Looking forward to working with him on the next one!

I had the privilege to have my home designed by the First Coast Drafting and Design team and they made the whole process a breeze. Art shows great attention to detail and put all of my ideas down on paper the plans couldn’t have come out any better. I highly recommend First Coast Drafting and design for any of your new construction or add on work you won’t be disappointed

Art was the best priced, and had the best communication of all the custom home designers I reached out to for my project. We were able to quickly arrange a meeting to go over our goals and design priorities. He listened to our ideas and made helpful suggestions to make the design even better. He never tried to change our minds about an aspect of the design that was important to us. When issues were identified he was quick to communicate them with us and quick to make adjustments when asked. I would highly recommend First Coast Drafting and Design to anyone starting a custom home project!

Art has designed countless custom homes for us in the past few years and has done a wonderful job. He is detailed, cost conscience, easy to work with, and communicates well. The homes he has designed for us range from a 2000 SF to 7000 SF of living area from scattered lot sites to luxury neighborhoods. We would highly recommend him and look forward to continuing our relationship.

Arthur has a positive and friendly posture. Very pro active and attentive to the client's wishes. He made it very clear his concern to deliver exactly what we expected. It seemed to me to be a professional who would not spare the effort so that we were 100% satisfied. And so it was. I hope to work with him in the future again

We had an open line of communication when it came to designing our home. Art responded very timely to any phone calls or emails that I sent in. Art DePaolo with First Coast Drafting designed our Dream Home! Art worked with us to make sure we understood the project thoroughly and went above and beyond with his services.
