After meeting with multiple architects, I knew in my gut that Juan Felipe would help me build a beautiful ADU, and that has turned into the understatement of the century! I cannot write a more GLOWING REVIEWS about Juan. He turned what would have been a boring blank two story ADU into a work of art. So much so that the LA Times came to do a whole story on it. Juan was my partner every step of the way, every single detail was his. He is a true VISIONARY, and our home and our lives are forever changed by his work.

If you ever need to restore or renovate a house, Juan Felipe Goldstein is the architect to pick. My wife inherited a house that was built in the 1950s and a major overhaul was necessary. After looking for ideas on houzz the presentation of Juan Felipe and his work caught our eye. We still went through the process of interviewing a few possible architects; however, Juan Felipe clearly emerged as our first choice. Our interactions with him were always extremely pleasant. In our opinion, one of his unique strengths is that he listens very carefully to your visions and expectations. Then, after paying careful attention to the wishes of his customer, he injects his own ideas. His suggestions clearly show that he has the experience, intuition, and feel how a renovation should be realized. We were extremely happy with his propositions. Fortunately, we also decided to put him in charge of overseeing the whole restoration project. He again surprised us with his keen eye for details. Everything had to be perfect. Although we stayed involved in every step of the renovation, Juan Felipe's input was invaluable. We are delighted with the final product. Without any hesitation, we would pick Juan Felipe again if we are in need of an architect for a similar project.

My husband and I decided to keep and renovate my beloved childhood home, that my mother and father had designed and built for them in the early 1950's. It was important to us that the renovation retain the charm and feel of the original house, but yet be completely updated in its inner workings. Happily, and quite by chance, I came upon Juan Felipe's site on Houzz and found examples in his portfolio of just what we wanted. Juan Felipe did a beautiful job on our renovation. He was also very involved in the selection of the contractor and in the execution of the work, paying attention to its smallest details, essentially helping to "quarterback" the entire project. We found his close involvement key to the success of the entire project, as we do not live in the area. During this process, Juan Felipe did suggest some small design changes, and we went forward with nearly all of them. As I recall telling my husband, they turned out to be ones that I had never known I had always wanted. We are completely delighted with how the house has turned out.

We had a small house built in 1940 which we wished to update throughout and expand without destroying the home's original charm and character. Our goal was to maximize the house's potential, but within a well-defined budget. We are so fortunate that we found Juan Felipe to serve as our architect. He very quickly grasped our preferences and goals; beautifully rethought the existing space and designed a master-suite addition; helped us stay within budget; and honored the home's original character while helping us achieve the more modern look we desired. His professionalism, kindness, sensitivity, integrity, responsiveness, good humor, and great generosity with his time made the entire process as enjoyable and free of stress as such a process can be. We are ever grateful to him and recommend him wholeheartedly.

Juan Felipe (JF) has been wonderful to work with. Before we started working with JF, both my wife and I were impressed by the beauty of the projects he designed. We were then pleasantly surprised by JF's pleasant character, which is one of the most important things you should seek when working with a contractor. JF is kind, attentive, patient, and cares to listen to and satisfy his customers' wishes. JF created gorgeous, meticulously crafted floor plans, interior elevations, electrical, and carpentry plans--all of which, I believe, will provide our home with the touch we seek, and the beauty and elegance we were oping to land on. My wife and I are really excited about the prospect of starting to build the house that JF designed for us.

Juan-Felipe designed our garage remodel and did a tremendous job. He was easy to work with, always on time and very reliable. He had fresh and interesting ideas, while still listening to our thoughts and keeping our needs and budget in mind. He did a great job planning the space and was very helpful in connecting us with a contractor and vendors. I have been hired as architectural photographer from Juan Felipe to document one of his residential project in Silver Lake California. Juan Felipe is a talented architect who has the ability to successfully mix modern lines with traditional decoration flavors. We just added a second story to our 1908 California Craftsman. It was a huge job, and required not only a keen eye for design, but also a respect for the existing structure and enormous work and commitment. We are so lucky that we hired Juan Felipe for this job. This is the fourth major construction we have done, and I can honestly say that Juan Felipe is the best architect we've ever worked with. Working with him was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Juan Felipe was very respectful of our home's age and style, and meticulously crafted a second story to match the rest of the house. His designs were always beautiful and thought-out, and if we didn't like something, he was always the first to offer suggestions, changes or solutions. He takes such pride in his work, but he does so without bringing his ego into it. Working with him was easy, creative and fun. He was very committed during the construction process, and his keen eye was PRICELESS on site. From design to final inspection, Juan Felipe was there, with a smile, to make sure everything was always perfect. I can not recommend him enough.

Juan Felipe is an excellent project manager, architect and designer. We remodeled a house in the Hollywood Hills which needed to be basically gutted and redone. It was originally built in 1950 and had never had any mayor work done. After interviewing numerous architects, we hired Juan Felipe to completely renovate the interior and exterior of our 1929, 2000 sf, Mediterranean home in Los Angeles, WITHOUT changing the footprint. He very creatively designed updated and improved use of the space without compromising any architectural integrity. A start to finish professional, JF is meticulous about detail, in design and execution, and will advocate for his clients at every turn. His knowledge of period and design is exceptional and he educated us and exposed us to style initially out of our comfort zone but now incorporated in a home we adore. Juan Felipe Goldstein designed the renovation of my co-op a few years ago. He was wonderful to work with and very collaborative in accepting my input and coming up with terrific ideas. We went through many different designs until we both were satified with the results. He was also very helpful in working with the financial restrictions and coming up with clever ways to solve those problems. Not only were the results attractive design-wise, but also very practical in the way it functions. I am very happy with the results and have received many complements about the work from friends of mine.

Great job. Juan Filipe is very talented and he is delightful to work with. $250,000 remodel of kitchen, den and 3 bathrooms, and new furniture for the entire house, including some custom designed pieces. Juan Filipe is very creative and he has great taste, which didn't always match mine, but he worked tirelessly to please me (a difficult and demanding client-- aren't we all!). I have very strong opinions and ideas. He was a great ediitor, politely nixing my bad ideas while always suggesting new and exciting ideas. We made a good team. He is very flexible and easy going, yet he can be very assertive when he has to be-- such as when managing contractors. Juan made what could have been a miserable experience enjoyable.

Juan Felipe is one of the most amazing architects I have ever met... his designs are impeccable and he has such of a refine taste that literally blows anyone's mind!!!... My husband and I did a great remodeling job in our beautiful 1950's home located in Silver Lake CA in summer of 2006, and Juan Felipe was our arquictect/advisor/designer....
