My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

About Us

Masterplan Design is a residential design and drafting service established in 2009 providing creative home design development and reliable permit application drawings in the City of Ottawa. The owner/designer is a graduate of the Architectural Technology Program at Algonquin College in 2001 and has been working with a major home builder for several years perfecting his design abilities and skills, while acquiring the necessary design and construction knowledge through experience

I'm building my forever house in Ottawa. I originally hired an architect to come up with a design. The house the architect designed would have been fine, but my family and I weren't as excited about building this house as I felt we should be. Our construction got delayed, so we hired Masterplan Design to come up with a new plan. We are "over the moon" happy about our experience with Masterplan Design and John in particular. We are extremely excited about building and living in the house he designed for us.

We enjoyed working with John to design the plans for our custom home (1850 sqft bungalow). He came highly recommended. He was very knowledgeable and was able to provide guidance and insight that we truly appreciated. He had recommendations/suggestions that were helpful and added features/functions that we would not have had without using him as an Architect. Our house was just completed in March.

Commented: love the lighting and wooden floor? where are these from?The client had chosen those themselves from their supplier. I was not involved in the selection process, as they acted as their own contractor.
