Richard Krynicki Residential Design

Richard was a literal "god-send" for us and our renovation project. He listened to our needs and wants with uncanny ability. The plan he devised for our whole-house gut and makeover is nothing short of genius. He came up with incredibly creative solutions to deliver a beautifully flowing and spacious floor plan within the confines of our small, 1200 sq. ft. house. He invented some gorgeous, one-of-a-kind elements that now make our home something very, very special. The value Richard offered to our project is beyond reproach. We feel so lucky that we able to find Richard and work with him to realize our dream house!

We brought Richard in to help us with a large renovation and addition to a 150 year old house. Richard listened to our needs and came up with a incredible redesign of the living space that took advantage of the best parts of our new home, maximizing them to our greatest benefit. We invested a great deal of money in this major renovation, and I still say the best money we ever spent was by hiring Richard to develop our plans. To top it all off, he was incredibly knowledgeable of the ins and outs of planning permissions and a super nice guy. Highly recommended.

We found a bungalow that had the perfect sized footprint in the perfect location. Unfortunately the style was a compartmentalized 1960's interior with very dated decor. It was not functionally efficient for everyday living or entertaining. We hired Richard to design the changes to our home. He listened to our ideas and brought our vision of an open concept dream home that functions as a great entertainment space to reality. We were given the opportunity to add our own ideas to his original concepts and he constantly adjusted his design to suit our needs, furnishings and taste. The plans were easy for our contractors to follow and the results speak for themselves!

I met Richard through my contractor to design the replacement of my Victorian verandah that was destroyed when a tree came down. From day one Richard was a pleasure to work with. He was able to come up with a design that replicated the old verandah and was so very helpful with his suggestions and accommodating me with a few changes I requested. Due to some difficulties with the supplier of the materials, Richard went over and above to get things sorted out so that the project could get completed. I am so pleased with the end result and would highly recommend Richard for any future projects.

My wife and I have worked with Richard on several projects, from a bedroom addition to cottage retreat and finally art studio transformation. We keep coming back to Richard, because in addition to his architectural problem-solving skills we always know that we can count on his creativity, attention to detail, and excellent project management abilities. From the beginning design consultations to product selection and placement, no detail is overlooked and Richard's own enthusiasm for our projects almost seemed to eclipse our own. Richard's attention to detail begins with the first client meeting, making sure that he understands your vision above all else before he ever picks up his pencil to create. In working for us, he helped transform an attic space of our home into a stunning master suite, bringing transitional elegance that gave needed spark to our space, while respecting the historic integrity of our century home. Later, when we bought our northern getaway, he transformed the drafty, characterless barn of a building that we had purchased, into a truly one-of-kind masterpiece that was at once a home, and at home in its setting. Later, I came to know Richard as an artisan supplier on some of his projects. Through this I experienced his attention to the overall project vision and client expectations from behind the scenes. And, like any good conductor, he made sure that all of the contractors on the project were in tune and playing together, so that the final melody was harmonious and advanced to the final vision and to the client's ultimate delight. I would have no hesitation recommending Richard for any project, from the mundane to the marvelous.
