Studio Couture

It took several years of planning prior to starting our home remodel. Scott Couture was very patient along the way. His knowledge of the materials and products needed to achieve our ultra modern vision was excellent. The contractor, Tim Vinson of Building Alchemy, was very patient also and his understanding of the vision was in line with ours. The quality of work was impeccable and on the mark. His access to local bespoke custom fabricators was invaluable. We lived in the house during the remodel and all members of the highly trained team were respectful of our privacy. We would highly recommend Couture Architecture for any modern remodel or design.

I worked with Scott on a recent remodel on a Healdsburg bungalow. We explored several options from a simple refresh of the kitchen to a full remodel and addition of square footage. Throughout the process Scott developed creative solutions that fit our lifestyle and provided advice on how our decisions might impact our longer term plans. We are delighted with the results! His design brought a modern sophistication to a very humble home. The style and functionality perfectly suits us.

Scott has been amazing on all aspects of our kitchen remodel, starting with coming up with a unique , functional and elegant design, Our house was built in a craftsman style. Scott was able to incorporate organic craftsman elements into a modern kitchen design which works beautifully with the rest of the house. We love the modern open space, so full of light , it makes you feel like cooking! Once construction began, Scott was always available to answer any questions from our contractor or ourselves as they emerged with progression of the project. He was there to help trouble shoot the unexpected and he was always a phone call/text away to help with anything that came up. There are always those small details at the completion of a project which get missed or ignored and Scott has been right there to make sure it gets done and done right. A real testament to his creativity, our contractor who does lots of high end work in San Francisco, said he wants Scott to design his next house, no cookie cutter ,"same old same old" design stuff. We recently referred Scott to our daughter and son-in-law to help them create a more functional kitchen in their little one bedroom Edwardian before their first baby is born in August. He has once again come up with such a thoughtful, unique use of the space, open, light and spacious but in keeping with 100 year old architectural style. Scott has an incredible eye and creative talent plus he is pretty nice guy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him or use him again on our next project.

As inexperienced first time home buyers with a young family, my wife and I purchased a "fixer upper" in San Francisco and sought out help to transform our tired 85 year old Marina style house to a contemporary and comfortable home that would work for a growing family. From our very first meeting, we found Scott inspirational, creative and detail-oriented professional who exuded a passion for his work. He listened to our needs, desires and took the time to get to know us, resulting in an exciting and creative design that blew away all our expectations - keeping the unique character while giving us modern designs we sought! Guiding us through the design, permitting, construction, finish selection and final walk through, Scott was with us through every step of the way over the past 14 months! His attention to detail & thoroughness, wealth of experience, creative designs and usage of materials had made our renovation process a smooth and enjoyable experience while giving us a truly beautiful and unique home. Having had such a positive experience with Scott, not only would we highly recommend Scott to our closest friends and family, but he will be the only choice to consider for our future expansion projects that we have already been thinking of!

Couture Architecture, led By Scott Couture, has been the best architect team we have ever worked with. We hired Scott Couture to design a major addition to our hillside house in Mill Valley. Scott provided a fresh and contemporary design, listened to our wishes and spent time understanding our needs, and then flawlessly incorporated them in his Artistic vision. The result is a design that fits well in the complex terrain, cost effective and respectful of the environment. The crew Scott brought along, from Geo tech to GC - Building Alchemy, through sub contractors and all, work well together and operate as a cohesive team. Too good to be true? Try them out. They are the dream team!

I have known Scott Couture for more than 7 years. I have tracked his development as one of Marin county's foremost contemporary architects. Scott's creative vision provides the most forward thinking solutions to everyday functionality in a way that establishes your own personal creative signature. There are few more passionate about their work and few so inventive in their approach. lloyd a. silverman www.94920.co 415.359.6969 bradley real estate

Scott Couture was our architect on our project in Sausalito, CA, remodeling a 50 year old house. which he transformed into a modern, cutting edge design that is very livable and functional. He has the ability to see space as no one else can and render his visiion with alacrity, professionalism, wonderful conntractors and timely production. We highly recomment Scott and look forward to future design projects with him.

1500 square foot remodel of main level with kitchen, living room, dining room, bathroom and study. Took an 3 story high end redwood country house from 1980 and did a sophisticated, ultra modern remodel. Scott pushed creativity far beyond what I had originally imagined. He is one step above a modern architect. The lines are sleek and moves smoothly from one room to the next. He was a pleasure to work with. Honest with his assessments. Scott knows how to work within a budget. We are looking forward to doing our next level with him.

A professional, creative and fully experienced architect who works so well with our contractor. Scott Couture has thought through so many details of a design and construction project for us. He has excellent relationships in the municipal planning and building departments giving us a confidence in a complex process.

We have been working on one of Scott’s projects in San Anselmo. He is a talented architect and a good communicator and he lives up to his commitments. He is very knowledgeable and has a great attention to detail. He is also creative, professional and efficient. The project was thoroughly designed and very well prepared for the building stage and Scott has proved to be a valuable member of the client, architect and contractor team. It was a pleasure to collaborate with Scott and we are looking forward to work with him and his clients on any of his future projects.”

My wife and I have worked with Scott on a couple of different project. The largest one was to replace our deck. Scott has a wonderful modern aesthetic, and a great eye for applying his aesthetic to turn around the ho hum to something special. He transformed a basic deck and difficult to use yard to a wonderful outdoor extension of our living space, and made the street visible portion something that significantly improved to the look of our home. People who walk by our house often stop to comment on how much they love the changes. Scott achieves his design by managing all parts of the project and paying close attention to all the details. He hires talented people to do the work and he is excellent at working with the city to get all the paperwork and approvals in place. A major plus for getting the job done.

Before he became our architect, Scott was simply our friend. As an amateur architect, I always picked Scott’s brain for ideas which led to lively discussions about style and design. When we were fortunate enough to purchase a turn of the century house that felt and looked all of 100 hundred years old, there was only one person we turned to. I handed Scott my napkin drawings, and what appeared shortly thereafter was an extraordinary and intricate plan. Scott’s understanding of our needs – both utility and aesthetic – was exact. I am biased, but I can attest that our home is the most beautiful and functional in all the area. Scott followed the fundamentals of the initial design and then expounded with captivating details. Scott is a detailed oriented individual, and the results show. He is also very professional in manner and scope. Scott referred and integrated other professionals such that the entire process was cohesive from an engineering and landscape perspective. We feel very lucky that Scott masterminded our project from start to finish. We have our dream home. Thank you to our friend Scott and his associates at Couture Architecture.
