Tamlin Homes did a remodel and 3000 square foot addition, completely transforming our family home. The original building was a 2 story, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom house with a barn style roof. The first phase was to remodel the outside of the building to add timber frame elements so it would match the addition. This was achieved by replacing the stucco with cedar siding, adding gorgeous fir timbers provided by Tamlin, and re-roofing. The second phase was the addition designed by Tamlin Homes, based on a photo of what we wanted it to look like. They built the addition from the ground up, blending it seamlessly with the existing home. We, as a multi-generational family, marvel every day at our good fortune at having such a beautiful home to live in. We highly recommend Tamlin Homes for all aspects of your timber frame construction project.

We built our beautiful Tamlin home in less than 12 months (from foundation to moving in!). We could not be more pleased with every aspect of this construction process; from initial meeting where were shown options, to working with our designer (Randy was wonderful), budget considerations, the timber frame delivery and installation, right down to the quality of timbers provided. We were honestly blown away by their service, open and easy communication and have recommended Tamlin to everyone we encounter who intends to build a house. Even my husband, who has been a building contractor for three decades, concedes that this is the way homes should be built!

We recently built our home in Connecticut using Tamlin International for the architectural design and building materials. I have only the highest praise for this company. From the very beginning they were attentive to our needs, helped us at every step along the way and delivered a beautiful product that we really enjoy living in today. The design was modified from one of their existing plans. The wood, doors, windows and framing all was delivered on flatbed trucks to the building site in CT. Our local contractor assembled the home with guidance from Tamlin. Overall, the project went smoothly and the few minor hiccups were handled quickly and efficiently by Tamlin. I strongly recommend this company. The final product is beautiful.

We absolutely love our Tamlin built laneway home in North Vancouver. Everyone who comes to visit loves it too. Total strangers stop in the lane and ask us how we did it. It is so expensive these days to buy or rent on the North Shore. We bought our land and primary home 25 years ago, when things were more affordable. The cost of building our dream home on our property was about 2/3 the cost of purchasing a condo with the same space. The laneway offers so much more - a gorgeous space with a shared garden, proximity to our son, who lives in the other house, future options to rent any or all of the units ... and .... no strata fees. Smartest decision ever! Thank you Tamlin for making our dream home happen!

In our search to find an affordable and practical way to create a comfortable living situation for a multi-generation family, we decided to build a laneway home on our existing property in North Vancouver. The rules and regulations seemed clear enough, but I can tell you, it isn't as simple as it seems! Friends referred us to Tamlin Homes to get help with the design and build. I wondered if they would be flexible enough to meet our budget and if they would allow us to hire some of our own favorite sub-trades. Our expectations were far exceeded. From the initial design meeting to the payment of the final bill, everyone that we worked with went above and beyond. The experience, knowledge and patient guidance provided by Tamlin has helped to make our vision a reality. It is a beautiful, functional and wonderful place to live. The neighbours comment that it is humble, yet attractive and that it makes our alley look welcoming. The interior trades always commented on the unique design and the finishing touches. Even the planners, engineers and inspectors from North Van City have given us two thumbs up. Everyone loves the cedar beams and trusses. I will recommend Tamlin to everyone. ps. we came in under budget!

Tamlin Homes custom designed and built our fabulous hybrid timber frame cottage in Parry Sound, Ontario. We are thrilled with the service and integrity of all the staff at Tamlin. The house which is located on a very steep lot was designed perfectly for our 180 degree lake view. We were consulted at every stage of the project and kept up to date on budgeting and building schedules which exceeded all of our expectations. We would highly recommend Tamlin to anyone interested in building a custom home, especially where building in a remote area is a concern. Their experience in planning, prefabrication and construction was critical to keeping the project moving smoothly from start to finish. We are the proud owners of The Gambier winner of the 2013 Georgie Award for best custom build. Our home is located on a water access only property. We waited 8 years before building as we were afraid of the potential of significant cost overruns experienced by others we knew. A neighbour found Tamlin. Chris walked our property, listened to our concerns, reviewed our design ideas and came back with a detailed budget and timeline. From breaking ground to receiving our occupancy permit we were kept informed each step of the way and had an excellent transparent working relationship with Tamlin.
