We feel so fortunate to have Hammond Lumber Co nearby. They have been very helpful in designing our kitchen and bath remodels, especially Mr. Chip Gay who has worked with us in making choices for both remodels.

I wanted to share my recent experience with Hammond Lumber. After searching for the perfect door for weeks, I spoke with Eric Chaples via email. I had found, ordered, and paid for my door in just two days! Eric was very pleasant and professional in his emails and phone calls. He took the time to email me updates and answer all my questions. I work in a medical building, and I have a difficulty making personal calls without being interrupted so most of our communication was via email per my request. He was very accommodating with my requests, he had answers for my questions, and he explained processes to me. I have little knowledge of carpentry, and his information was clear and valuable to me. I want to thank Eric and his team at Hammond Lumber for their excellent service! I will be a returning customer :)

I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the wonderful job that Paula did assisting in the design of our new kitchen. This was our first attempt at renovation and Paula made the process much easier than we had anticipated. She asked questions to determine our wants and needs for the new kitchen. She offered suggestions and came up with a design that met all of those needs. We were delighted with the outcome. She worked with our contractor to make sure he understood the design. She checked in with us often as the work was being completed. We really appreciate the effort that she put into this project. We would not hesitate to recommend Hammond Lumber and especially Paula DeGroot to anyone who is considering a remodeling project.

We contracted with Hammond Lumber Company to replace our kitchen counter tops. Their prices were reasonable and our kitchen was finished well within the time frame I had hoped for - in time for a college graduation party in our new home for our eldest son. We also repainted the kitchen cabinets independently. Hammond Lumber was thorough, professional and we are very pleased with the results! :)

We decided to replace our exterior asphalt siding with wood siding. We went with Live/wavy edge siding. The guys at Hammond lumber were so helpful to us in determining cost, actual supplies needed vs what we thought we needed. The cost was very reasonable, and the materials were delivered a day sooner than expected. The truck driver was very knowledgeable about construction and gave us great advice regarding windows we were replacing. This was our first diy project and an all around great experience, in part because of this company. They are locally owned and most of their materials are made in the USA, which just makes it even better!

The staff are very knowlegable and responsive to the customers needs. The attitude and work ethics of the Hammond representatives exceed expectations. We replaced two doors, repaired ceilings and added insulation to the master bath area. The contrator (Jason Trembly of Oakland Maine) we worked with did excellent work and came in below his estimated cost for the repairs.

I was assigned to a kitchen designer named Bethany. She mainly just wrote down some stuff and walked me through the showroom taking note of what I liked. Did not offer any explanation of the pros/cons of any particular brand or style. She already had an idea in her head of which manuracturer from what my contractor had told her. She came to my house once for less than 10 minutes to look around and measure. Did not offer any creative suggestions. Her quote was incomplete with no breakdown as to what I was supposed to order. I had to go over her head and was assigned to a new person, John, who was leaving that office and was only a little more helpful than her. So neither designer really designed anything for me. The kitchen turned out OK, since I had been thinking about the remodel for years. But it lacks any of the bells and whistles and the wow factor I see on some of the kitchens on Houzz. I'm sure it could have turned out so much nicer. Every time I see the Hammond commercial where they show a finished kitchen with a designer following up to make sure the customer is happy, I shout obscenities at the TV,. No one ever followed up with me at the end of the project. I will never buy another product from this company and will never recommend them to anyone I know.

This business with its employees helped us build our home. They helped us to plan, review,, purchase and buy the materials we needed. We gave them our ideas and let him know our budget. Their planning department helped us to figure out what we could afford and how we could incorporate tasteful elements into our home.
