6 Reviews for Plyboo
I work for a flooring contractor and we installed a bamboo floor in a fitness area for a customer. The plyboo click lock floor started buckling and pulling apart shortly after installation and it appeared to be because of equipment the owner installed. I reviewed it with Angus, who I believe is one of the Owner's at Plyboo, and he assured me he would provide a response to the information we provided as it was a hot issue to get addressed for our customer. I never received a response from Plyboo and the entire company has gone dark and will not respond to any correspondence. I had to correct the issue for our customer out of my pocket as it was time sensitive and I never received a response from Plyboo. Based on this experience I would never use Plyboo again or recommend their products. I even asked questions if it was something we did incorrectly on the install and still nothing. I feel like their tactic is to ignore you and hope you'll go away. I can't afford to do business with companies that don't stand behind their products.
Agreed with Jessica's review, our materials from Plyboo have been very durable over the years. We are a proud seller of these materials and our clients love Plyboo products!
I am very surprised by these reviews. We have had Plyboo sheets in an office installation as desks for nine years and they have held up exceptionally well. They are very durable. My thoughts are that Plyboo is generally meant for interior use, and when it comes to bamboo products, they are best in class. It sounds like poor distributor response is more of the issue than products quality.
Bought their product from a distributor.
We investigated all the bamboo flooring available and chose Plyboo. BIG mistake. 1. We ordered Canvas and the boxes were mismarked so we ended up with 1500 sf of the wrong color. They didn't believe us and were VERY hard to get a hold of. Took 3 weeks to get the flooring replaced and NO compensation for their mistake. They offered $100 discount on shipping which we never received. 2. Even after acclimitization and proper installation the flooring has cupped and shrunk to the point where we are going to have to replace the entire 1500 sf. We live in a dry climate but were assured by the store we bought it from that it would be fine in our climate. 3. The finish is not very durable. Used a dish scrubby very lightly on the floor to remove scuff marks and it damaged the finish! Beyond disappointed in the company and its product. Save yourself the headaches.
I had kitchen cabinet doors made over a year ago. Within 6 months the areas that were refaced with veneer have cracked. The refrigerator door was the absolute worst. My cabinet guy contacted the Ply Boo sales people and was finally told that the veneer is to be used solely for edge banding. I say finally because it took several phone calls to get a straight answer. I wish they would have warned against the cracking up front. Now we have expensive repairs to undergo. The doors and facings that were made with Ply boo paneling have had no problems (so far).
I bought products from this company
I am ranking 1 starts because there is no option for zero start. I bought Plyboo for my back yard deck and it was just matter of time to starting seeing how it deteriorates. I posted some pictures so everyone can learn from my real life experience. The quality control of the product is very poor, from start several planks arrived broken, it took me 2 weeks to get the replacements, after 3 months of the installation the color started to fade and cracks started to show up in the product.
