Creating a beautiful home supports us in creating a beautiful life. My vision is to take your vision, who you are, what you love, and who you are becoming, and channel that into an environment that is welcoming, inspiring, and restorative. I seek clients who share my quest for what is real, true, and genuine. I am elated to share the magic my team has created — just for you. My purpose is fulfilled when I see the positive impact our work makes in our clients’ lives. In younger years I traveled to France and Italy, where I steeped myself in the worlds of art, food, and wine. I fell in love with the ways that design and culture intersect; how we weave the threads of our personal lives and our culture into a rich tapestry that makes up our environment. My first career was in restaurant management; during that time my appreciation for the connection between setting, food, and community deepened. These powerful experiences formed the foundation of my core values as an interior designer: creating welcoming havens of beauty, comfort and grace that call us to perform the rituals of home and community — connecting with others, cooking together, dining together, playing, and relaxing. I am wild about transformation. My greatest joy is when I create an environment that is even better than what the client had imagined for themselves. I design in every style: Modern, Contemporary, Traditional, Spanish, Mediterranean, Craftsman, and more. I bring a warm, classic, and timeless approach to the aesthetic style that matches your heart, your community, and your space. I started LMB Interiors in 2002 when I was pregnant with my first child. The one-woman firm that began in my dining room has grown to include a team of talented, dynamic, soulful designers who share my values of authenticity, warmth, and a livable approach to interior design; now located in an elegant urban-chic office in the historic White Building in downtown Oakland. As a group, we complement one another’s contributions to the whole with a deep appreciation for our individuality, while inspiring each other to thrive in a culture of collaboration and graciousness. We conceive beautiful environments where love, family, and community flourish.

Kathleen Burke has spent her 30-year professional career working for a high-end clientele who appreciate interior designs that stand the test of time. Based in Lafayette, California she has become respected for the intelligent integration of architecture and interior design, skillfully combining contemporary and traditional elements into a timeless environment. The integrity of good design is achieved simply by what is appropriate for the bones of your space. Each home will call for a different aesthetic. Successful design is about your lifestyle and creating a feeling, not just a look. A well-designed home looks effortless, genuine, but most importantly a well-designed home looks timeless and exudes warmth and comfort. Your home should be a haven. A place where family and friends feel welcome, just by the very gesture of opening your front door.

My obsession with living spaces began in childhood as I learned, without knowing at the time, that how my environment was designed directly effected how I felt. I would ask my parents to take me to open houses so I could walk through the houses and experience the floorpans. I started to draw floor plans envisioning what I now know to be ranch style houses with pools in the center of a c-shape structure... I still love those floor plans! When I wrote a paper in 5th grade about becoming an architect when I grew up, and learned I would need 8 years of school, I promptly decided that would not be the career for me... If only I had known I would spend 20 years self-educating about design, architecture and the energy of how people respond to their environments. In 1998, I purchased an Edwardian duplex built in 1897 in the Bernal Heights area of San Francisco. It was a "fixer" and by "fixer" I mean a house that I would improve myself, with the help of my mother, the Alameda Flea Market, Urban Ore in Berkeley, and some willing friends... It was a true labor of love that proved fruitful and led me and my then boyfriend to pursue our passion for remodeling 5 homes, and eventually, building 7 homes. Along the way, with 18 moves and two kids added to the mix, we ditched our original careers (me a pilates instructor and him a chiropractor). It seems our interest in the "structure" of bodies translated to homes... the rest is history. I work with people who are hungry to make the most of their lives, to live their potential and fulfill their true purpose. So please don't try to fit your life into what's around you, change what's around you to fit your life. If you are here to play hard, then design a space for never-ending parties and adventures with the people you love. If you're here to create, design a life that allows you to do your best work, surrounded by mind-blowing beauty and ritual. My work (and years of therapy and personal experience) supports relationships during what is, no matter what, a stressful time. And, it's time for you to get what you want. There's nothing I love more than tearing down walls and hanging strings of lights so you can live big. I look forward to knowing you.

KBG Design approaches each project with an inherent enthusiasm for all-things-design. "I love getting to know each client and learning how they live so that I can cater my designs to enhance how they are going to live in the future." - Katelyn Gilmour Hello! My name is Katelyn Gilmour and I am the owner and Principal Designer of KBG Design, a truly full-service interior design firm. I pursued my studies at the prestigious Interior Design Institute in Newport Beach, CA. It was there that I received a Certificate, AA, and BA in Interior Design. Now with over 15 years of interior design experience, I suppose you could say that I am officially a 'grown-up' in my industry. My passion for gorgeous residential interiors starts with having a transparent relationship with my clients. I love learning how they currently live so that I can design spaces and, therefore, beautiful homes that will enhance how they will thrive in the future. I listen to my clients needs and do my very best to achieve their wish lists and then some. It's one thing to design a beautiful space on paper, but something entirely different when the designs are implemented. I convey design options with detailed CAD drawings, hand sketching, applicable concept images, and 3D renderings. The designs become clear for everyone involved: clients, general contractors, trade partners, and the city (when permitting). And because surprises on-site are inevitable, my creative problem-solving abilities are quick and effective, which in turn keeps the construction timeline on-track.

We are big believers in design as an exercise in enhancing the way real people live. Beauty, function, and livability are paramount to our client-centric credo. It’s not about us imposing our personal interior design signature on your lifestyle. Instead, we use our education and expertise to make your design goals come alive even better than you imagined. And with obsessive attention to aesthetic detail. We follow a philosophy of approachable luxury: “wow” enough to impress, and practical enough to last. Whether that’s a primary residence for an active and busy family, a vacation home near the sea or in the mountains, or some overdue updates to aging kitchens, laundry rooms, and baths, we can make the design and construction process fun, smooth, and efficient. As a Madison Avenue refugee with 20+ years of experience creating the “big idea” and managing clients, Sabrina has leveraged her hard-won skills for the benefit of her interior design clientele. She communicates the big picture, guides clients through a complex process, and ensures her team delivers what is promised. This commitment to quality customer service prompted a former colleague to quip, “If you want to get something done and done right, call Sabrina.” Sabrina is a Certified Interior Designer in California and opened her award-winning studio in 2011.
We believe that living in a beautifully designed home that reflects your personal style and how you live shouldn't also cost you a lot of money. At La Finca, we design luxe spaces for our clients that don't break the bank. We can do this because we specialize in "hi/lo" design. That means we know how to stretch our client's budget without sacrificing quality or style. Whether you need someone to partner with your architect on a full-scale construction project, or you just need to freshen-up an area of your home, our goal is to delivery a space that will not only make you feel as good as your home looks, but will leave you with enough room in your budget to enjoy living there as well.
