Andersen-Knudsen Design LLC is a custom woodworking company that builds exceptional quality wooden cabinetry and paneled rooms. Alan Andersen, principal, is a highly skilled craftsman with decades of experience. Since 2011, they have built and installed in our 19th C Townhouse: a painted kitchen and butlers-pantry with old-glass paned doors; early 19th C. carved and fluted columned fireplace mantels; a fully paneled Wine Cellar; and a 17th C. paneled room finished in buttermilk paint. I highly recommend them.

We didn't think there was much of a difference in custom cabinetry until we met the gentlemen of Andersen-Knudsen Design. From start to finish, they were quintessential professionals. They quietly and calmly go about their business and reach a level of superiority in their cabinetry that exceeds even the artistry of yesteryear. In our 1933 renovation, we hired A-KD to make many types of new cabinetry and trim work all in simple, unembellished styles to look as if they had been in the home all along. Even unadorned, the quality of each room/piece is so stunning that it takes our breath away. Everyone who sees our new home thinks their work is original to the house. But we know that their work has greatly raised the level of sophistication and beauty of our home. They can design and build whatever you can dream up. And their finished product is delivered within a reasonable amount of time and installed to perfection. Their love of furniture, wood and design is obvious in everything they do. Their knowledge of how to put that wood together makes for exquisite rooms/pieces that will truly last the test of time and make for instant heirlooms.
