I would not recommend him. Like the other posts, he took 3 months to complete job that he said would take 30 days. Constantly had to call him to get a timeline. Now, we are having problems with the cabinet he built & have hired others to come & fix the problems. Do not use this guy.

We did our research, shopped around and finally hired Best Cabinets a few months ago to do a complete renovation of our kitchen. The results are outstanding and significantly exceeded our expectations which resulted from a lot of collaboration with Dan and his team on design and layout. Since then we have received wonderful feedback from our friends and family and feel really satisfied with the investment we made. We have a large kitchen and went back and forth on many details with the BC team and they were always accommodating, patient and detail oriented. We highly recommend the products and service we received from Best Cabinets and are currently planning to have them renovate our bathrooms.

Avoid this company at all cost. 50% deposit provided on March 13, 2018 for a 4-8 week lead time. I have been told the project is almost finished for months now. August 2, 2018 and I am still waiting for a status update.

Terrible experience. Dan from best cabinets IMO is not trustworthy and very unprofessional. Never on time, if he even showed up, but was always on time to pick up a check. Kitchen tore up for 3 months for cabinet refinish and countertop. To many problems to mention. Worst experience we ever had with a contractor. The job eventually got done and looks good, but the whole experience was a nightmare.

Clients turn out nice and friendly and honest and as the job progresses refuse to pay for extra work that was not contracted it was specifically stated is not included in the original agreement

Also client called our suppliers and subcontractors and tried to make deals direct with them

Worst experience we've ever had with a customer even after 35 years in business

Please avoid working with Best Cabinets. I signed a contract for cabinet doors that was estimated to take 4-6 weeks and the project took more than 15 weeks weeks to complete. During my project, Dan did not communicate openly with me about our contracted work and never completed tasks on time. He refused to provide any visibility to a job timeline and when pressured to do so, responded that that was "not the way things work." Dan never reached out to me via phone call, except to close my business, and to request payment.

This situation was an unfortunate one of miscommunication. Our typical turnaround time per project is an estimated 4-6 weeks for custom building of cabinetry in our shop. We also advise our clients that the typical time for installation is approximately 1 week. We were exceptionally busy during this time, and a few days behind schedule. As such, we were able to get the majority of the work done within one week of the initially quoted timeline. After we completed installation for this client, requests were made for additional changes, adjustments and new detailed trim pieces that were not a part of the original order. Any changes such as this take additional time, and when we were ready to install those changes, the client was out of the country, which contributed to the delay.
We always strive to complete every project in a timely manner and assure that the completed space both fulfills the client’s vision and is built to last for years to come.

Full Kitchen and condo remodel. Brought in designer's plans - construction excellent, highly skilled craftsmanship, excellent fit and finish. Niche is custom made cabinetry for us Wenge and high gloss lacquer. Being able to have such high quality customized size, shape and finish totally sold us on Dan!! For a complete remodel Dan and the guys were able to handle any/all requests and worked with us for highly customized pieces. Really couldn't be happier with the relationship and quality of the workmanship. Would absolutely talk to Dan for any work that we have planned in the future. Already starting to draw up plans for two bathroom vanities, cabinets, and trim work

Best Cabinets did a fine job of refacing our kitchen cabinets. They were patient, helpful and professional throughout the job, from planning to selection to installation to follow-up. It's nice to know that we still have skilled craftsmen and ethical businesses in Chicago.

Best Cabinets just completed a combination refacing and new cabinet project in my kitchen. The end result is beautiful and I am extremely happy. There a few minor details that could have been handled differently for a better result. Shop drawings, which Best does not produce would have been helpful. Dan and his crew provided timely, professional and expert installation services. They were a pleasure to work with. Best stands behind their work, and I would be confident in recommending them to others.
