Colours Cabinet Refinishing is owned and operated by Rick and Sue Hoffman Our story begins in 1999 when we moved with our two children from North Carolina to Birmingham. We moved into a home in Brook Highland and loved everything about it except for the hideous gray concrete retaining wall. Sue, the creative one, decided to do something about it, so she made stencils and painted bricks on the 70’ long, 10’ tall wall. Long story short, Southern Living Magazine published an article featuring the wall. Sue decided then and there that she enjoyed painting more than accounting and started a business. Initially, most projects involved faux finishing and other types of decorative painting. As time went on, requests for cabinet refinishing grew and grew, and today, it represents over 90% of our business. Our business has continued to grow, and today we have 3 additional full-time cabinet refinishing specialists on our team. What makes us different from our competitors is that unlike standard painting companies, we focus on cabinet refinishing. We don’t paint home exteriors or stain decks; we refinish cabinets every day. Over the years, we have developed a 21point process to ensure that the cabinets we refinish will look great for years, and we stand behind our work with a 5-year written, limited warranty, the best in the industry.
