The original owner of my house didn’t choose the builder built-in option for an alcove in my family room. I was looking for a custom cabinetry designer/builder for a built-in base cabinet with above counter shelves to install in the alcove. The design needed to match the current cabinets and design throughout the house. After receiving three quotes, I chose CFM based on responsiveness, experience, options and value. From beginning to end, Doug and his team listened to my wants and designed a built-in that was perfect for my home. The design I initially had in mind was impractical, and they helped guide me towards something more functional and ultimately much better for my family's needs. We get many compliments on it, and, most importantly, it makes us happy--it looks just as I'd hoped but better. CFM transformed our entry way from a basic mudroom with thrown together furniture into a functional and space-conscious area! I had three project with custom built. A main bedroom closet, laundry closet and built in shelf unit. They are all spectacular. From the design team to install they are wonderful. Garage Cabinets. Quality work. Made changes after first measure to accommodate needs related to moving some plumbing, creating a golf club closet, size and shelving. Plenty of room to park two cars now with everything in the cabinets.

Had a great experience with Doug and Custom Built-ins. They were very responsive, quoted a fair price and delivered quickly. We had 3 sets of built-ins removed and placed into our garage for storage. I will definitely work with them again.

I researched many companies and Jeannie and Doug were by far the most helpful, professional, and trustworthy. I needed a unique entertainment center built into my loft's wall. My loft's ceiling is angled. I have an attic door and AC vent on my wall, which made the project extremely complicated and challenging. Other companies were unable to give me a reasonable quote due to the project being to challenging for their skills. However, I found Jeannie and contacted her regarding the obstacles. She came over and it was OBVIOUS they could do the project without hesitation. She designed it in no time kept in constant communication throughout the process. The entire company was outstanding and the installers were elite. Beautiful Crown molding was installed along with desks on both ends. Lights were added to add character and the attic door was hidden but I still have access to it. The entertainment center was more than we could ever dream of. The design and installation was out of this world

The house we bought was built in the early 1990’s. In the family room is an alcove niche where a projection TV used to go in. I wanted a custom-built cabinet that would complement the family room and also match my kitchen cabinet. I searched for recommendations all over Facebook, Houzz, and Yelp. I contacted several contractors, but none of them was able to make a custom built-in cabinet to my liking; most of them only provided pre-made kitchen cabinets, even though they claimed they do custom cabinetry. After several searches, I stumbled upon CustomBuilt-ins.com / CFM Company Inc. on Yelp. I sent them a message and before the day was over, I received a response from Doug. I sent him pictures of the alcove niche and explained to him what I want done to it. He was the only one out of all the contractors I contacted that said, “Yes, we can do that! We are fully custom and build everything in our factory from scratch.” The next step is to set up a consult. Jeannie came to our home and she was a pleasure to work with. She drew a design based on what I told her and provided us with a quote. Approximately a week later, we received an email with the attached proposed design in 3D. After design approval, we received 3 color sample shades to choose from and approve. Even though this whole process was in the middle of the Covid19 quarantine, we were updated that delivery is still on schedule. We received follow up emails keeping us up-to-date and informed regarding the whole process. We received a health and safety protocol email a week before install day, providing us with instructions how to keep their staff and client safe. On install day, 2 installers came on time, they were polite and professional. The installation process took almost all day but it was all worth it in the end. From consult to the finished product took about 6 weeks total. If you need custom cabinets done to your home, search no more, this is the company to go with. They are trustworthy and professional to deal with. Communication is very professional via email or by phone and easy to deal with. The photos attached on my custom built-in alcove niche project says a lot.

I needed a custom kitchen island to fit my space. It was important to me that the cabinet doors and drawers match my existing 15-year old existing cabinets because I did not want to have to re-do everything. Jeannie designed a lovely island to fit the space, and Doug executed on her design perfectly (style, color and stain were all perfect!). I could not be happier with the island. Start to finish it was about 4 weeks, which is exactly what Jeannie told me when we first met. Price was better than other quotes I had gotten. I highly recommend!

Doug and his team built two large bookshelves. Both angled walls. One up to the ceiling with an angled ceiling , Real hard. Anyway, I am freaking in love with this. Amazing! And his installers would ask me this and that about customization. Huge recommend. I use HOUZZ a lot and have left a few other reviews. this is my highest review.

Custom Built Ins did everything for our new home. We had them do the master closet plus 5 bedroom closets and cabinets for the garage. They built a beautiful mantle over our new fire place. The completed a fantastic barn door to our home-office. Finally, they also created massive beams in our family room. We had the best experience creating our custom built in entertainment center with Doug and the team at CFM Company. They have the design process down to a science. Doug met with me at listened to our ideas for the space and created a virtual rendering of the unit so we could visualize exactly what we would be getting. Once approved, our lead time was exactly what we were told it would be, and the assembly and installation went smoothly. We are very happy with our new unit. The quality is excellent. I would highly recommend CFM for any cabinetry or woodworking needs.

From the initial contact, to design, to build, to install, to final touch ups, I am very happy with the product and especially the follow through of Custom Built-ins. Doug was my point of contact and designer. He came to my house and carefully listened to what I wanted in a home entertainment center. He took my ideas and put together a design on the spot using a special design program on his laptop. Within minutes we had a great starting point for the design. We updated the design a couple of times via email and created a design I was happy with. The finished product was just what I wanted and even more. The cost was on budget and the whole process was super smooth. They even followed up after the install to make sure I was happy with everything and they ended up fixing a couple of small issues. I would highly recommend these guys. They are true pros and go above and beyond with the customer communication and service.

Such a fantastic experience to work with CFM from start to finish! I was just looking for a small desk/cabinet unit to be built for an office space, but Doug never made me feel like my small job was a waste of his time. He listened to what I envisioned, helped me work it out with his knowledge and recommendations, and came up with the perfect design- literally instantly at our first meeting! We could not be happier with our built ins. We waited years to find the right company to do it. We wanted to make sure they didn't look like they were stuck into the existing space. CFM matched every single detail of our existing trim and molding. They're gorgeous and it's hard to remember what the space looked like before and we lived there for 10 years prior to having the built ins completed. I will absolutely use CFM again. I highly highly reccomend them.

We did a complete kitchen remodel and hired Doug and his company to do the cabinets. We decided on unstained natural maple. We got three different estimates and Doug came in right in the middle. We liked that he gave us a design and approximate cost on our initial consultation and was very receptive to suggestions. We are very happy with the end-result and love the cabinets/drawers. We provided the ideas - hidden magazine rack, lazy Susan, knife and spice drawers etc. and he made them reality. We had a couple of little hiccups but Doug eagerly had any complaint taken care of and fixed within a reasonable amount of time. We still have a kitchen nook to do and will definitely use his company again.

I purchased Sub-Zero refrigerator that required custom panels that matched our kitchen cabinets. Found CFM through Houzz. Excellent work. Panels perfectly matched our kitchen cabinets in style and color. Perfect fit to refrigerator.

These guys are fantastic. Doug (the owner) is very customer oriented and strives to achieve perfection. He helped me get the design exactly right for the custom build that I needed. After installation he made sure we got everything we needed and he even personally came and showed me how to do touch up painting on the built-in.

For the last year and a half, I looked through multiple sites to find a contractor that can help design a closet that was both functional and cosmetically appealing but on a budget. I came across CFM (Doug) from Houzz and saw some of his work on the project link. The design and craftsmanship caught my attention so I decided to email Doug for in person consultation. Doug was super quick to respond and was very transparent with his pricing and manufacturing process. He was very friendly and not pushy in anyway. He presented so many different options and was very patient with all the request I had. Within the week, Doug was onsite taking measurement and was extremely detail with the spacing that was available. With the vision I had in mind. Doug was able to produce a 3D rendered closet design on the spot that I was able to visually review. After some back and forth with CFM, my wife and I finally agreed to the final design.The manufacturing turnaround time was about 2 weeks! We were expecting months considering all the custom details that was a part of the design. There was constant communication throughout the waiting period and Doug was always quick to respond via phone/email/text. On the day of installation, the installers laid out blankets on the floor and cabinets were moved up one flight of stairs without any issues. Installation took about 3 days and the results was beyond what we expected. The details and the craftsmanship was simply amazing! The moldings were perfectly aligned to the ceiling with no gaps! They even came up with a creative way to work the molding around an air vent!Overall, I am thankful that I found Doug from Houzz. Great Company that wants to meet or exceed customer expectations. Doug was great to work with and listened to my needs and made sure a quality product was delivered. We had a fairly intricate job with precise measurements to fit around a fireplace that was sticking away from the wall. They made sure everything fit well or took it back to the shop to rework. Extremely happy with the design. They have an amazing amount of options, woods, stains and colors to work with. We wanted our cabinets to blend with certain of our existing kitchen cabinets and color of stain matched perfectly. Would certainly hire again.

Doug and team were great to work with in executing our family room cabinet and shelving design. They provided a quick and accurate quote from the start and were extremely patient with us as our fireplace project encountered numerous setbacks to the schedule. When it came to finally install the cabinets, the stain we selected showed lighter than anticipated, but Doug and team were all over it. Within a week, they re-stained the cabinets (at no additional cost), re-installed, and Doug personally spent a day at the house putting the finishing touches on the cabinet door open and closing function. We would hire Doug and CustomBuilt-ins in a heartbeat and are extremely pleased with the end result.

My husband and I bought a house earlier this year, and since we're going to be here for the foreseeable future, we decided to build the library I've always wanted in one of our bedrooms. Our house is 100 years old, with old moldings and a look we wanted to preserve; it also has an unreasonable number of windows, and the room we used had two doors. I wanted bookshelves on all four walls, for maximum storage and that Beauty and the Beast effect. Basically, a strong vision, lots of obstacles, and no clue how to execute anything. I found CustomBuilt-ins on Houzz after googling home library contractors. I read some reviews and sent off an email asking whether my library was possible, and how much it would cost. Jeannie got in touch immediately and we set up a time for a consult. She came over to my house, took a look at the library room, measured everything, and sat down and drew a blueprint on the spot. She answered all of my questions and guided me through everything, assured me the project was possible and made helpful comments and suggestions. It was such a relief talking it over with her. I felt like my library was in good hands, and signed the contract. Over the next couple of months, Jeannie sent me polished drawings and a 3D rendering, and we emailed back and forth about paint colors and other specifications. CustomBuilt-ins cuts all its shelving in its SoCal factory, and when the pieces were ready (this part took a few months), they came in to start installation. Installation took just over a week, and everyone I met was pleasant and professional. It was exciting listening to them building my dream room, and peeking in on the progress day to day. Around day three, it started to look fantastic, and the end result was just stunning. The library is now my favorite room in the house. It's beautiful, with floor-to-ceiling shelving and new moldings that match the old ones in spirit. It's completely ours and yet it looks like it might have sprouted up with the rest of the house. I've put all of our thousands of books in there, and it just looks stunning. Everyone comments on the library. One of my guests informed me she was too jealous for us to be friends anymore; last week, I loaned my house out for filming, and the crew immediately pounced on this room. We had high hopes for our home library, but it's really lovelier than we'd even imagined. If you have any dream home projects in mind, I can't recommend CustomBuilt-ins highly enough.

CFM finished the installation of custom bookcases and cabinets this week and our experience was exceptional. Doug was a pleasure to work with and went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied. Doug Leong was extremely professional. He answered all our questions and detailed our custom built in shelves to our satisfaction. The detailed work was superior. His crew was very clean, professional and on time! They completed the installation in one day. After the work was completed, Doug stopped by to ensure we were satisfied with the overall result, installation and outcome of the built-in book shelves!

I wanted to love it, but I don't. I spent a few months after install to see how things would hold up, and unfortunately, it is as I suspected: so-so "craftsmanship" and even worse durability. I designed a beautiful built-in entertainment center but I wish the execution matched my vision. Besides the 1.5 hour tardiness on installation day and rude workers (who were cursing in Spanish), the end product simply did not deliver. I had two different set of workers on each day, and they were completely baffled about the plans and how to do things. Their confusion and inability to read or follow plans caused cracks and fissures in the wood. Doug, the owner, promised me that they'd patch it, and they did. Except that I could still see it. He had them come back to touch up, but it really didn't resolve anything. At that point I decided it was a lost cause. Fast forward to 2 months later, I'm starting to see cracks re-appear in the spots where they touched up. It's like applying a band-aid when you need surgery. So it could be a combination of the shoddy materials, poor installation and/or paint. Doug provides great customer service, but you can't place value over quality.

C!FM did a fabulous job on our kitchen cabinets.They transfromed my ugly blue kitchen into a beautiful contemporary kitchen I love the espresso cabnets and the sleek look. I searched for several months obtaining quotes from numerous custom cabinet companies, Doug at CFM came to our home and spent time understanding our needs and provided some great ideas that we incorporated into the features we wanted in our new kitchen, CFM was the only company that provided drawings and gave specific details of what our new kitchen cabinets would look like.and how they would function, In addition CFM was they only company that would customize a curved cabinet for our curved window area. I wanted custom bookshelves to match the existing fireplace and crown molding. Doug was able to respond within a day or two despite the current real estate boom. The custom shelves were designed and installed within a month or two. The quality was exceptional! The detail of the woodwork and quality of the installation was top notch. I got so many compliments on my new bookshelves. Highly recommended!

Recommended to Doug and CFM by our designer to do custom kitchen cabinets and an entertainment center. Probably one of the best contractors we worked with as far as attention to customer service, willingness to work with you, and making sure you were happy with the job. Pros: Great work, flexibility, and follow-up (willingness to work with you throughout the project to make sure you were happy). Cons: The only gripe I had was in the middle of the process, I lost contact with Doug for several weeks where I would inquire on status and did not hear an answer back after repeated attempts. Not sure what created the radio silence but that was a little weird. Apart from that all else was great. I would recommend CFM to anybody looking to do a custom cabinet job. We had a few problems because of different contractors not being on the same page that required some rework, but Doug went above and beyond to make sure everything was fixed (even when it wasn't CFM that caused the rework) and to make sure we were happy. I got estimates from three different companies. Doug and CFM were by far and away the best choice. The service and attention to detail that Doug provided were excellent. Took about four to five weeks to finish designing and making our custom cabinet, very elegant design and the installation process was efficient. The staffs were very careful when installing and they made sure there wasn't anything improper before they leave. Wonderful experience.

I found CFM on Houzz and I was so grateful that I did! Doug is very knowledgeable and detailed oriented, and was willing to go extra miles to accommodate my short timeline and my tight budget. On the installation day, two installers showed up on time, with all the tools and materials they need. Everything fits to a tee, so there was no fuss at all. Unbelievably professional! I have never had a vendor work at my house that took so much care to make sure the project came out perfectly. The process was amazing. They sent out a professional to measure and help design the project. Then her notes were made into a 3d rendering that enabled us to hone the design to perfection. After that, they created a CAD drawing used to build the shelves. So by the time the shelves showed up, they were already perfect. Then the installers were clean, professional and helpful. I can't say enough about how good I feel about them. If I had any other projects like this, I would not hesitate to hire them again.

I have used this company on 2 separate projects (media niche with table in 2007 and storage/sitting bench for breakfast nook recently March 2016), and happy in both. This is the 2nd time I have Doug to work on my house. Doug and I meet few times and go over several details on this projects ( Moulding and Tv media center and some other detail ). The total working time took around 1 3 days and the workers he sent to (Mario and his assistance ) are very experienced and friendly as most of time I was working in my office but they are very nice and patience that always showed my mom and ask for approval / advice when one little step is done. The result came out perfect and all my friends and family all like it when they saw the pictures or visit my house. We had a few hiccups, and Doug really went out of his way to accommodate us. The craftsmanship is top of the line and Doug is a real designer. I especially love how our mantel turned out and how the legs of the mantel serve as additional "hidden"storage. Custom Built-Ins did a fantastic job on crafting my vent hood cover and a bench seat for my kitchen remodel. They were very professional, responsive and made any changes that I specified based on the design of the project. I would highly recommend them! Doug went way beyond my expectations in delivering excellent customer service. Full kitchen and three bathroom remodel. Also custom wall unit and built-in linen closet. A few months later I wanted to frame all bathroom mirrors and ordered 80 feet of 3 1/2" moulding to match vanities. During the renovation process I made multiple changes to the designs. His installers are top notch and perfectionist. Doug was patient and kind through the whole process even though I know I was quite a pain in the butt.

We searched Houzz for someone who could build us custom cabinets for our living room and decided to contact www.custombuilt-ins.com -- Doug Leong responded to our request. He came to our home to take a look at the space and after we shared our vision and style, he went to work. We waited for him to get back to us with a design and we were very pleased with what he came up with. He visited a second time to share the proposal with us and he was patient as we made some modifications and decided on the details together in-person. We really wanted to get the project done before the New Year and we were very pleased they came in on 1-31-15, completed everything, and cleaned up in time for us to host our friends for a New Year's get together. We had a custom television built-in and a mantel done. We were told the build time would be 6 weeks and it was completed within that time. The installation went well with one modification due to the view from upstairs. A cover piece was made and installed within two weeks. We are very happy and everything looks fantastic. We had Doug build a custom peninsula that would hide trashcans and allow for a drink fridge. He worked to match our existing cabinetry down to the fine trim color. It turned out beautifully! He personally came out to add small details to ensure the piece is perfect. He was quick to respond to texts/emails and was flexible in making changes to our plans. We love it!

We hired CFM to completely redo an existing built in. We needed it to match existing cabinets in the room that were done at 15 years ago. In addition we also had specific audio visual needs and wanted special custom wood features in the built in. All of these needs were met. We are very satisfied and will be using their services again.

Replaced an old oak semi-wall unit with open shelves with a beautiful floor to ceiling entertainment wall unit. Doug Leong, CFM Company, Inc. provided with the best design, customer service, and price out of three bids. Upon first meeting Doug, I found him to be very personable, patient, and ready to listen to what my needs were for the project. Unlike some of the other bidders. I appreciated the flexibility in working around my hectic work schedule and completed the project in 3 days. Also, he is environmentally conscious and provided a great resource for sustainability through Habitat for Humanity for the old oak shelving! The work crews cleaned up after themselves each day which was helpful. Overall, it was a good experience and I have had rave reviews from friends and family!

I really wish I did not have to write this review, but unfortunately I do not believe the custom built-in that we had done by CFM is good quality. The built-in was installed in June 2015 and after only 6 months, the wood has cracked right down the middle of our built-in. Please see the attached pictures. The quality of the material is shoddy and I expected my built-in to last much longer than 6 months. In addition, they never indicated to me in any of the drawings that a seam would be placed front and center of the built-in. It is almost as if they took 2 leftover pieces from another project and slapped it onto my project instead of procuring a single piece (which by the way is approximately 64 inches wide). The seams in other areas of my built-in is quite noticeable and has gotten worse over time as well. I am disappointed with the quality and service. I was initially happy with how the project turned out, but as time went on the built-in simply did not stand the test of time. I emailed Doug and he did come out to assess the problem and said he would have someone come fix it. However, after multiple follow-ups, I have yet to hear back from him. I was hoping CFM would do right by me, considering I spent over $4,000 but it appears that this may not be the case.

It had taken us quite a while finding the right person to do our media niche and we were so glad that we had found Doug! Many of the design details that I had to twist the arms of other contractors to cover - such as where the bulky sub-woofer sits, where all the wires go, how the remote works with a framed TV and devices behind cabinet doors, etc., were nicely laid out and explained and put into computer graphic design right during our initial meeting. So I hired Doug almost instantly! I must say that I was pleasantly surprised at almost every steps as the project went - they sent me professional blue print that detailed out and confirmed all my requirements, and also sent me wood color sample a couple of times to make sure I got the right stuff. The final installation went smooth too - they called earlier and came right on time. The men were careful and very skilled ... I have to say this has been one of the best experiences I had out of many built-in projects we had done to 4 of previous houses plus this one and we will definitely rely on Doug and his team for our future projects. Their price was very reasonable too compared to that's of all other contractors we had interviewed - we had interviewed about 12 contractors before Doug for the same job.

He started taking measurements and as we were describing what we wanted, he started designing the project immediately on his laptop. In about an hour we had 3D images of the finished project. He also provided his expert opinion on what would look better than our personal vision of the project. We appreciated that. For these reasons, we decided to go with him. He designed an entire wall entertainment center as well as re-gutting our entire fireplace and crown moulding throughout the family room. He communicated with us promptly throughout the design aspect via email, text, and phone calls. His installers arrived on time, were highly professional, and courteous of our home. The finished project turned out better than our expectations. In fact, when our cousin came over to see his work, he hired him for his home project after seeing the beautiful results. Doug was absolutely fabulous! I was impressed on our first meeting. He brought his rendering laptop and we had a 3D model within 30minutes. He picked up on my OCD fairly quickly and was already suggesting things before I would mention them. The installers were are also very professional. Even after the install I had hesitations on the number of shelves and Doug came through with 2 additional shelves. In my book that went above and beyond great customer service! I would recommend them in a heartbeat!!!

CFM created for me onsite at the first meeting a wonderful full wall cabinet housing a 80" tv with a hutch etc. the cabinet was 12' tall and probably 20' wide. the project was done with the highest qualities of wood and extreme precision drawers and doors. I am extremely particular when it comes to stuff like this and they met my every need. I would not hesitate to hire them for another project, nor would I hesitate to recommend them to a friend or family member...

We were referred to CFM Company by a friend who had hired them to do her home. I compared quotes from several companies and they were very reasonable. They built our master bathroom cabinets, tub panels, an entertainment center, kitchen with two islands, a bar area, a playroom entertainment center, storage and pantry shelving, an office, and master closet. Everything was great! We love how our desk / cabinets / media center / fireplace turned out. I contacted Doug at CustomBuilt-ins.com to do a built in media wall/bookcase surrounding our fireplace and a built-in bench seat with drawers for our breakfast nook. I sent him some photos and measurements of the space and he was able to give me a rough estimate over the phone -- a very reasonable estimate. He then came to our house to see the space and take measurements. To my delight he brought his laptop and was able to do some 3D mock-ups of the built-ins right then and there. This was one of the many many things that impressed me. I have dealt with many contractors before and they come to the house take measurements and say they'll get back to me with an estimate and some drawings in a few weeks. A few weeks pass by and I don't hear from them so I follow up and then they ask for a week or two more and then often come back with an estimate that is not within the range we originally discussed and I have wasted weeks and weeks of my time waiting around. Not with Doug though. As I said, he gave me an estimate over the phone during our first conversation and had 3D drawings based on an image that I found online for me the first day we met. The rest of the process went very smoothly. From start to finish the whole project took about 6 weeks. The pieces were custom manufactured off-site and then brought to my house and assembled and installed. Everything came in on-time and on-budget. And did I mention how beautifully everything turned out?! The finished built-ins exceeded my expectations. They are exactly what I wanted. I would enthusiastically recommend Doug to anyone who wants a beautiful built-in for their space. I will definitely be using Doug again as we have two additional spaces upstairs where we want built-ins. I wish all contractors were this easy to deal with.

This was quite a change from the prior layout and we needed a lot of help from Doug to make the most of the somewhat limited space we had available. Doug was very helpful in making suggestions and asking a lot of questions so that we really thought through the layout. The construction quality is quite good, however we did opt for the what I believe was more of a furniture grade construction as opposed to a cabinet grade so maybe that helped. Their installation crew really went above and beyond to do a top notch install in rather difficult conditions ( I have a very uneven slate floor that makes leveling cabinets a challenge). Make sure you listen carefully to Doug's advice about layout and placement of EVERYTHING, including electrical outlets, which you can't see in my office because they hidden.

Doug and his team of craftsmen at CFM did an amazing job on two projects at my recently acquired townhouse. The quality of the workmanship and the fit and finish of the materials was superb. They were on time with their build and install estimates and very reasonably priced when you consider each job was custom designed and built.

Doug Leong's Company - Custombuilt-ins.com/CFM company created the ultimate MASTERPIECE in my Family room. I have lived in my home for 5 years and for those years stared at empty alcoves. Doug's designer, Jeannie Kolstad, came to my home and designed an entertainment center in those boring little alcoves that met all of my needs....a way to inconspicuously store my cable box, music components, movies and CD's as well as a way to showcase some of my decorative items. They worked with me to ensure the color match was perfect with the other cabinetry in my home and the installers that were sent, were patient with me as I asked lots of questions during the installation process. Its only been 2 weeks, but I still stare at the beautiful detailing in the piece. Before today, I would have never referred to a built in entertainment center as a "masterpiece," but the custom work that was created for my home is exactly that....a masterpiece! I highly recommend this company!

The project took longer than expected. I could almost Never get the designer on the phone to discuss design options or see samples of materials. I got his voicemail constantly and he didn't always respond to the voicemails I left. When the cabinet work finally got installed it was not what I had described that I wanted and some of the wood was warped. They were very unresponsive the whole time and Definitely unresponsive after I mentioned the warped wood. There is no way I would recommend this company to anyone. This is a followup to my earlier review. After the original cabinet installation went bad on several counts, Doug contacted me and offered to correct the faults and flaws, all of which were easily correctable. Within a week changes were made to the design, the cabinet doors were reworked and now hang evenly, and the shelves are now all level. I am very happy with what I have now. Doug explained that part of the reason for not being more in touch during the design phase was a death in the family and a change in email address. Regardless, all’s well that ends well.

I found Custom Built-ins company on Houzz, the site that was recommended by one of my close friends. I simply wrote and email and within a day or two Doug contacted me via email. A few days later he came to my new home, took all the measurements and drew a preliminary design for my future home office. Certainly, it took us several weeks to modify the layout, choose the wood color, handles, do the final tune-up, but it was worth it. I love my new office. It is exactly how I envisioned it at the first place. Doug also helped me find contractors: one - to demolish one of my closets, a painter who colored my walls, and a glass company where I ordered a glass top for my desk. Doug is a professional. We worked with Doug on a display case and cabinet for our living area. Doug was wonderful to work with. He came out to our home to see the space and readily provided us with 3D images of our project. We couldn't be happier with CFM frm the start to the end of the project!!! I've dealt with 3 other design firms before CFM and none of them could get the idea of what I wanted for my cabinets in the craft room, but once I spoke with CFM's designer Jeannie, she got my idea right away & even had the design done while we were discussing the design. Jeannie really listened to what I had to say and she just gets it. Besides, she is honest and straight forward and won't beat around the bushes with her thoughts so you get the truth but not some sugar-coating selling lines. On the day of delivering and assembling the cabinets, the owner of the firm came along with his employee. The firm's owner is so down to earth and easy to work with, not one of those typical "I am the owner of a designer firm" kinda business owner you would imagine. He styed from the start of the day til the end of the day and just work hard together with his worker to make sure everything was done right.

We were able to see his designs in 3D and it was easy to visualize how the custom built-in work would look like in our new home. His installation team seemed super experienced and efficient. Fast forward a year and half later, we experienced water damage in the first floor of our home, wherein some of the custom wood work needed to be removed and stored in order to dry out and repair our home. I returned to Doug again for help in re-installing our entertainment niche and kitchen bench, and a small part of our wall bookshelf as these items were affected by the water damage. I would trust no one else to accomplish this task. No one would know our designs better and I believe no one would re-create our built-ins with better execution. We are now closing this water damage chapter of our lives and thanks to Doug/ CFM, the house looks beautiful again.

I am now looking at my beautiful cabinets and mantle, custom built to surround my fireplace and TV. On paper, they were designed to fit all of our specifications, and upon install - all works perfectly. The designer, Jeannie, was accurate and attentive, and was always willing to come back to our home for a re-check on measurements. The project took longer than expected, but Doug personally insured that all my expectations for the finished carpentry were met. These cabinets are just gorgeous.

After having a new home built I began getting quotes from contractors to design and build out numerous areas of our home. We had designs drafted for our loft for our small children, my office, garage cabinets and crown molding. We met with 2 other contractors for all 4 areas. We met Doug from CFM as our last contractor. The other contractors had been referred to us by family and interior decorators so I was not expecting CFM to blow me away. I found CFM on Houzz. When ever I found designs on Houzz that we liked typically they had been built by CFM so meeting with CFM seemed obvious. Doug spent a considerable amount of time with us designing, explaining in detail all our options and making sure we where comfortable with our final decision. We made changes throughout the process but his team remained patient and professional. His price in all 4 areas was competitive (best price) and CFM delivered a product that exceeded my expectations. My office was designed to look like it was installed in the 1950's and it truly turned out spectacular. All the finished areas leave us with a sense of pride when we show others our home. CFM made the experience a pleasure and we could not be happier.

I had Custom Built-in do 2 installations for me. 1) A wall unit built into a large wall niche (approx 6 x 8 feet) originally designed for a rear-projection television. (Flat panel was installed above adjacent fireplace, so this area needed something to complete it.) 2) A built-in office area, with wall bookcases and storage with a connecting peninsula partners desk. I love my custom built media niche. From start to finish, everybody was very professional. I would use Bustom Built-ins for another future home project just because they were that good.

We worked with Custom Built Ins to design and produce a new media console for our home. We had a rough idea of what we were looking for and sent along some dimensions and sample photos. CFM was very communicative and sent us a number sample related projects that made us feel very comfortable that they'd done this before and would do a good job on our piece. We quoted out with a couple of other vendors and CFM's price was very reasonable and they were also very flexible on timing, which included pushing up the production time by 2 weeks. Once the project started, they sent us some CAD drawings and choices for all the styling, including mouldings, hardware, etc. The piece was delivered ahead of schedule and looks fantastic!! We could not be happier. Also, the installers were very nice and helpful and it was clear they were more interested in doing a good job vs just getting it done. We'd definitely consider them again!

Custom Built In's put in a beutiful dining room hutch/cabinet and an entertainment center for a 60 inch television. They were prompt, courteous, and well organized. When I noted that the top of the cabinet didn't look the way I wanted it, they immediately fabricated a piece to fit into the problem area and sent it over the next week. When I couldn't make it fit, they came down and did an installation of the piece. They were extremely courteous and repsonsive. I would highly recommend their work.

Great Company. Doug and his crew were excellant. They made a custom built in 13 drawer dresser in espresso that fit perfect in our bedroom. We will never have to buy bedroom furniture again. The drawers extend out fully so it's not a problem getting to the back of any drawer. They provided a glass top for the top of the dresser for protection, looks great with all the moulding surrounding.. The estimate came in about half of any other and the scheduling was right on time.
