Our experience with Daedal Woodworking was excellent from first contact to final installation. Paul is a collaborative professional who listens carefully to the scope of the project and client design preferences. Preliminary meetings and ideas reveal his knowledge of architectural design and fine woodworking. Final CAD drawings offer a clear picture of the finished piece. It is difficult to find a craftsman as dedicated and talented as Paul at Daedal Woodworking. We worked with Paul to build bookshelves, media cabinet and wet bar in our finished basement. From design to finished product Paul was easy to work with, creative, and open to our opinions and suggestions. The finished product was way beyond our expectations, making the basement the best room in the house! We will definitely be using Daedal Designs for all our future projects.

We are a young couple wihout much experience in home remodeling. Paul built us two beautiful built ins including a dining bench and bookcase. They both turned out perfect and the craftsmanship was impeccable. More importantly than the work, Paul was an absolute pleasure to work with. From the intitial consultation to the final cleanup he was courteous and professional. Just a nice guy you feel comfortable with in your home. We had a great experience and will definitely recommend him to others. Pricing was very reasonable given he did the design, build and installation. He was also very receptive to our suggestions. Although I will admit we usually liked his suggestions more. He made reccomendations despite costing himself some business, while keeping the best interest of the project in mind. We commissioned Paul to design and fabricate furniture for our newly built home. Our style is international modern and we had specific features we wanted in a dining room table, a master bedroom suite and barn doors. We commissioned Paul to design and fabricate a footstool to feature a needlework piece created by a family member. Paul worked closely with us as we selected the best design for our style and then sent us a digital rendering so that we knew exactly what to expect with the finished piece. He even suggested a clever addition of an inset wooden burl bee--as our family our beekeepers and the needlepoint was bee-themed. It's a lovely touch for what will become a treasured family heirloom.

I found Daedal on Houzz. He has completed three projects for me, and he is really one of the best craftsmen I have ever encountered and I have been doing renovation projects for forty years. He is meticulous and on top of that, he is just an incredibly nice and pleasant guy and an all around pleasure to deal with.

It was a pleasure working with Paul as he built a kitchen island and repaired my expensive european kitchen cabinetry for me. I'm a bit of a retentive fellow and because his level of craftsmanship is very high, I am quite satisfied. In addition to taking on my custom request, he collaborated with me and came up with an elegant solution to balance/safety and wheel-location issues associated with my island design. Beyond his masterly finished products, Paul is very professional and is a cheerful gentleman. I wish I had 10 stars to give Paul. What an absolute professional and perfectionist. We hired Paul (Daedal Woodworking) to commission a new floating vanity and barn door for a recent full master bathroom renovation. From the first contact we had with Paul to the very last one (he actually just left after finishing the final install) he was the ultimate in professionalism - immediately available via phone, email, ALWAYS on time, offered us a wide range of different woods, styles, designs, was very patient, up to date knowledge of software techniques for visualizing a project, ALWAYS finished the project when he says he's going to. This man knows his stuff and he knew how to work with me to achieve the results we wanted. My lingo in the woodworking world isn't that great and it was wonderful that Paul was able to take everything down to my level so I could understand every level of the process. He has such a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the different types of woods, veneers, stains, scope of projects, etc. He's a genius when it comes to the install. He is just an overall 'good' person - Honest, always smiling, always pleasant, great sense of humor, very knowledgeable, hard working, talented beyond measure, (the list could go on and on!) I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Paul. I'd trust him to do any project in my house. You will not be sorry inviting Paul into your home to make it beautiful.

Paul Kenworthy is an expert carpenter and superb craftsman. He’s also great to work with. We hired Paul to design and build radiator covers for vintage radiators in the dining room, living room, and library of our 1922 apartment in a “grey-lady” condominium building overlooking Lincoln Park. We wanted a classical, elegant, and traditional design to compliment our décor and means to easily access adjacent riser pipes in the walls. We also wanted to salvage the decorative cast-iron grates from the original, older radiator covers, which had been removed during demolition for our gut rehab. We were extremely impressed with Paul from our first meeting. He took detailed notes, spent considerable time measuring the space, and made sure he had a clear understanding of our needs and expectations. He incorporated the cast-iron grates into his design and provided three rounds of changes to his drawings for our review and approval within a week of our first meeting. We met one last time to finalize the changes. During the building process, Paul provided progress photos, and he was responsive to our questions. He took ownership of the process for sandblasting clean the vintage iron grates, and he finished the covers in the time frame he promised. The final product is impeccable, and the installation equally so. We recommend Paul Kenworthy without hesitation, and we have commissioned him for other work in our home: custom cabinetry, woodwork and shelving units. Five stars!

Paul's work is truly exceptional. My husband and I had been looking for someone to create some highly functional and integrated pieces for our open living, dining and kitchen condo on Lake Michigan. We had interviewed quite a few people before hitting the jackpot with Paul. Our first meeting was very professional and Paul took the time to get to understand our needs. He continued the creative process by asking more questions, making suggestions and refining drawings throughout the project. We love our furniture and constantly get complements from professionals and friends. Lacewood Dresser: This piece was designed with an angle on both sides of the dresser, giving it a bit of a modern look and considerable storage. The sapele and lacewood were Paul's suggestion as well as the details on the dramatic base. The pullouts and top are helpful for workspace and serving during parties and the drawers provide extra storage. The wavy patterned wood on the drawer fronts emulate the waves on the lake and were an excellent addition by Paul as well as the details on the floating top and the lower leg design. http://www.houzz.com/projects/860700/birch-sideboard The next two pieces, dining buffet and entertainment console were the more difficult pieces to design as they needed to be highly functional, not too much detail, but yet enough and they needed to be unique enough to not look the same as other pieces. These pieces met all these expectations and more. Buffet: Highly functional as it operates as a desk and a buffet with drawers hidden within the doors and pullouts to allow for extra serving and desk space. The angled floating top along with the detail in the base add sophistication and detail. Entertainment Center: This unit has great storage: The lower half of this unit has file storage and the top has 'garage' storage for electonic units. Paul's suggestion of adding the center extended piece along with the angled top and detailed base made it a great piece. While all of the pieces are wonderfully photographed, a picture cannot do them justice! I highly recommend working with Paul..a true artisan, fun and professional!
