Edgewood Cabinetry

The cabinetry is the star of the kitchen renovation.I had an idea of what I wanted to change with the 1990’s kitchen. Pete came to my home approximately four months prior to the remodel to plan and measure. I visited his shop once to finalize the details. I appreciate Pete’s flexibility. The remodel was delayed a month due to an unforeseen work injury and needed surgery.

Pete did a fantastic job on our Kitchen Design. He was very helpful and professional from the design phase all the way through install. Do not hesitate to use him. Thanks Pete for all the hard work.

Edgewood cabinetry helped us with a wet bar project for our rec room. We had previously worked with one of the larger design chains and had a poor experience. They generally didn't seem interested in our project since it was not a full kitchen or bath remodel. This was surprising given that their prices were exceptionally high. I found Pete's webpage online and decided to give him a try. I emailed him at 6:30 in the morning and literally within 15 minutes he had replied and had a preliminary design to me by the end of the day. I was a bit hesitant at first to go with Edgewood without a general contractor. However, I am so glad I did. Pete is extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of his projects and guided us through the process without any problems. His workmanship is excellent, and his prices are actually better than what you would get at a design gallery. This came as a surprise given that his cabinets are all custom built. I'll also mention that Pete works with an excellent team of other craftsman so incorporating the counter-top, sink, and backsplash was seamless. I would definitely recommend Edgewood cabinetry for any custom cabinetry work and will call Pete with any of my own cabinetry projects in the future.

I had Pete add pull out shelves to several cabinets in my kitchen and bathroom. He completed the job in a very professional and timey manner. All correspondance from me to Pete was return within 12 hours. Futhermore, he was prompt when appointments were set and appointments were set in a reasonable amount of time.

Pete came to our house the next day after I called him. I wanted an entertainment center built into one end of our living room. We worked together on the design and it was finished yesterday. During the process Pete and Michael who installed the center kept me apprised of what was happening. I also wanted doors on the TV space and Pete worked with me on that. We loved the way it turned out, and it has made a big difference in our living room. Below are before and after photos.

Pete did an outstanding job in building the entire kitchen cabinets for our kitchen renovation project. He made several stops at our house after the installation of those cabinets to make minor adjustments that were needed for the replacement appliances. He’s easy to work with and took pride in his work. I really enjoyed his workmanship.

What a fabulous job you did on my sewing room. Your cabinetry work is undeniably fantastic. you really thought of everything from the placing of the cabinets for the best sunlight and leaving room for fabric behind sewing machine. We hired Pete to build custom kitchen cabinets for our home renovation. Although he didn't offer anything in terms of opinions or options, we felt he would do a good job for us. I had given specific measurements and discussed with him what we were looking for, and when he came to install the cabinets, the proportions were all wrong. He had made several alterations without bothering to check with us to see what we wanted. For example, he added a 3 inch spacing (a bump-out as he called it) when we had never asked for that, nor did he even state that he was going to add in extra space. Due to that, the cabinets and drawers were smaller by those three inches and they looked off compared to the cabinets and drawers on the other side that they were supposed to match. When we asked we he had made alterations without asking us, he just starting getting mad and said he would fix them. It took him over a month to complete the second set of cabinets, and apparently he didn't take any notes from the first time he built them as the second set had a center bar in them, when the set of the other side didn't. When we asked him our options to fix it, he stated he would either cut the bar out, leaving a marred spot where the blade when through and it wouldn't be stained to match the rest of the inside edge, or to add a bar to the other side. The prospect of getting him to build another cabinet correctly was not an option. The other issue with the new cabinet he built was that the first one was stained on the side sine it was meant to hold a mounted microwave. With the new one he forgot, and left it unstained. He also messed up with one of the knots in the wood and must have used the wrong kind of putty or epoxy as it stands out on the cabinet. We hired him to stain pantry doors the exact color of the cabinets. The color was so off, and he wouldn't do anything about it, so we ended up having to hire someone to refinish the doors so they did match. The molding he didn't bother to measure the existing molding in the house and when he went to install it they don't match up. He never bothered to offer any options or suggestions, he cut slapped it up and called it a day. Based on our experience with him, I wouldn't recommend him to anyone for any job. He wasn't pleasant to work with and I felt the quality of his work was lackluster.

We are very pleaseed with our new kitchen island. We love the design, construction and color of the island. The insatllation went really well.

Stellar workmanship, reasonably priced, professional communication and installation. A joy to work with. I sent Pete inspiration pics and he delivered my vision. Very happy with results. I will always go with custom cabinetry from now on. What a difference!
