Heart of the Home

Everything went really well until I received my cabinets. Jamie really did not care if I was happy or not with them and would do nothing to fix issues until I pressured her into doing something. Three months later my $10,000 cabinets still are dented, scratched, and have paint problems. Horrible, no concern for service or customer satisfaction.

I’m solely basing this review of Jamie’s layout of the kitchen I had requested and her responsiveness to my questions and suggestions. Let me say the color combination did work our very well and I liked where she placed things. Also there was plenty of marterial ordered and everything came on the shipping date she stated. Jamie was very attentive and answered all my questions promptly. As far as design services, I would definitely recommend her.

Jamie was wonderful to work with on our kitchen remodel! She listened to our needs and incorporated them effectively into our design. She was helpful in identifying where we should best invest our remodeling dollars. We are thrilled with our final design and are enjoying cooking in our new kitchen!

Jamie is smart, stylish, and honest. She knows old homes and how best to incorporate new styles/technology into them. We loved working with her to build our dream kitchen!! Highly recommend.

Over the last few months I have been helping my son and his girlfriend coordinate a whole house remodel due to their busy schedules. We were working on a tight budget they had to stick to. The original plan was to go with Ikea kitchen cabinets, with us putting them all together. After paying to meet with an Ikea Kitchen planner, who was no help at all, we received a very confusing 10 page list of parts.. some of which we needed.. others we didn't. Trying to figure it all out was frustrating and confusing. After posting a rant on facebook about this process, I received a private message telling me about Jamie owner of Heart of the Home in Batavia. After working with custom home builders for many years she now was able to sell the Wellborn line of cabinets to the public. Like I mentioned.. since we were working with a limited budget, cost was our first concern. I shared with her what the budget was and what they were looking for, and she thought she could make it work. Within a week she visited the house which had just been completely gutted, took measurements and gave us a very acceptable quote within their budget AND we didn't have to put the 10,000 pieces together! Not only that, but she also provided very valuable design advice to the first time home owners. The cabinets came in on time, when promised, and are beautiful! They have been installed and my son and his girlfriend couldn't be happier with the look of their new kitchen. .. pictures will be coming soon, after the rest of the kitchen is complete.. Still a few DIY projects, like the backsplash and range hood to complete! We were extremely happy with the services and products supplied from Heart of the Home and Wellborn, and would highly recommend Jamie and Heart of the Home for any remodeling project.

Jamie carefully worked with us on a kitchen and laundry remodeling project. She was diligent to integrate an updated design that fit with the style and feeling of our home. She took into consideration our personal tastes, family needs, and budget. Jamie guided us through every step of the process. She designed the cabinet layout and helped coordinate appliances, counter tops, lighting fixtures, tile, and hardware. She had creative ideas and innovative solutions. Jamie worked behind the scenes with our contractor to keep the project moving forward and on time. Jamie's high standards of craftsmanship, eye for detail, and organizational skills left us with a beautiful kitchen and laundry room we will enjoy for years to come. Jamie helped us design our kitchen remodel from 1973 to 2016, she conferred with us on color/materials choices which helped as we have never taken on this large a remodel. Jamie consulted with us with our barn door color/look by giving us confidence that a whitewash would look good, we had no experience w/those kinds of choices. Jamie also came by to help with color choices and dropped off paint swatches, while encouraging us to go a little bolder with our wall color (gratefully she was right). She helped us choose flooring materials, honing in on what fit our budget/style. Even though we chose a different floor color than what she initially preferred, she definitely supported it as our decision and final outcome. Jamie also counseled us on placement of lights and helped put us in touch with Pirch for the appliance package. She and our contractor Mike were always available to answer questions. I would use Jamie again in the future - her nature is relaxed and all her contributions were based on a lot of experience, thus she inspired confidence.

Jamie is very passionate about the quality of her renovations.. A perfectionistt and dedicated business woman! Jamie has excellent decor ideas and will respect and work with you diligently until you are satisfied with your finished project.

Working with Jaime was a joy. She's professional and had a great understanding of what we had in mind. Her attention to detail is what made our kitchen stunning! She not only designed our kitchen but helped pick out paint colors and even accessories.

Jamie made the overall design process a pleasant experience for me. She provided a few options to choose from so it was not overwhelming per my request. She provided great options understanding my style and created a beautiful powder room.
