About Us

I am a Chicago based kitchen and cabinet designer, cabinetmaker, as well as finish carpenter. For the last 20 years I have been trained to build and design both residential and commercial cabinetry. My hands on experience comes from kitchen design firms, cabinet shops, and schooling. With that experience I am able to deliver on customer expectations for their top of the line finished product. My experience with design, fabrication, and installation allows me to easily adjust to unforeseen circumstances.

Dream Home Design

From the start of our research for our renovation, we knew instantly we were going to use Mark for our kitchen. He is truly a genius in his profession and will give you open and honest feedback regarding selections due to his experience and knowing the trade. Mark came out and did everything, from start to finish, making sure every last detail was in place. The quailty of his cabinetry is something you see in a movie or magazine, you dont believe it until you see it and then thank your lucky stars you did go with him because you definitely wont have to be replacing anything anytime soon. He is calm, patient & cares about his clients. We are so happy with the end results. My husband and I would highly recommend Mark if you're looking into redoing any type of cabinetry in your home.

Heidkamp designs is the place to go for custom cabinets that cater to your preferences. I cannot say enough positive things about the whole experience. They were amazing during every step of the design process. Mark did an over the top job at designing and incorporating all our wants and needs in our cabinet design. He thought of everything! It is hard to pick our favorite part of the kitchen, from our built-in custom silverware dividers, full cabinet tray stacker, bifold doors for our coffee bar, to our pull out plate drawer with peg dividers. Everything is seriously top notch! Mark showed up to our home with a vast variety of samples on colors, cabinet designs, and hardware. The product quality exceeded our expectations. Mark was always quick to answer our questions or make changes to our design. Our kitchen is our favorite space in our new house thanks to Heidkamp design. They truly delivered the personalized kitchen of our dreams.

Amazingly beautiful work. We did a gut rehab on our kitchen, and Mark designed our island (50% bigger than previous island) and all of our cabinets. Very detail oriented; we probably went through 20+ efforts to fine tune the stain color before brought to life what we had envisioned. He also had a lot of solutions/options that you're probably not even thinking of. it's been a couple of years since the project, but we absolutely love it. Highly recommended.

After meeting with multiple vendors and showrooms Mark became our top choice. He pulled up to our home with a mobile showroom which saved us a ton of time with our busy schedules. Yes, he showed up with a van retro fitted as a showroom so we were able to see, touch and feel his amazing products. Aside from that Mark's experience shined through as he was very creative with our space and created a very functional space that is fit for our family. I'm typically very skeptical about sales people but Mark put us at ease right away as he's direct and knowledgeable about his product. Once we signed with Heidkemp Design Mark stayed on top of it with great communication and willing to answer any questions we had. The product was definitely worth the investment and Mark's attention to detail shows with the finished product.

Highly recommend Heidkamp Design Our project was vanities for for 2 full baths and and powder room. Mark Heidkamp came out, took measurements, asked us what our style design, wood type and colors were. Then discussed door and drawer designs, leaving us with wood and color samples and said call when we had decided or if we had questions, no hurry. Then after we had decided on countertop design and color he brought more color and wood samples and we made our final decision and ordered. Vanities came in sturdy cardboard boxes delivered up to our third floor without, any flaws. Vanities installed by our contractor. Cabinetry definitely way better than any big box stores. If you are in need of kitchen or bath cabinetry, give Heidkamp a call, you will not go wrong.

Exception design for a 100 year-old house. Striving for transitional arts and crafts style with contemporary accents. Mark achieved a functional design, incorporating 30" column refrigerator and freezer, two in-island 30" ovens, a dry bar with separate drinks cooler. The cabinets provide ample storage throughout, including above the refrigerator/freezer and over the vent. The result is a well-planned and spacious kitchen with shaker, quarter-sawn white oak cabinets.

Heidkamp did a great job on our kitchen cabinets, we absolutely love them. This was a big job, we had over 40 cabinets and each one is perfect. They brought us great ideas how to lay out our kitchen and they continue to follow-up to make sure everything is still good! If I ever need more cabinets or know someone that is looking I would definitely recommend them.
