Franjo and K International Woodworking did an outstanding job remodeling kitchen cabinets in our Newton home. I hired the company after reading excellent reviews on Houzz and meeting with Franjo to quote the job. The project was kitchen cabinet refacing - replacing cabinet and pantry doors, drawer fronts, and drawers, and installing new pullouts. The workmanship was outstanding and our kitchen looks beautiful, like a new kitchen. Franjo is a highly skilled and talented woodworker with an excellent sense of design. He is professional, reliable, and easy to work with. I highly recommend this company and would use them again for future projects.

I hardly ever post reviews like this online, but this experience I had with Franjo Katic from K International Woodworking has been one I must share. When I began thinking about building a new bar in my basement, I had not even considered the possibility of it ever looking the way it does today. Beyond its beauty, I was wildly impressed by the timeliness of its completion, fairness of pricing and most importantly the high quality of materials used throughout the project. During the construction, one thing Franjo said that truly stuck out the me was that if I chose him to build my bar, it would become the focal point of my entire home. Let me just say, I have had the opportunity to host many guests in the few months since the bar's completion, and I must say Franjo was one-hundred percent correct! Not only is it the focal point, I would go even further and say it becomes a distraction (in a positive way)... with conversations revolving around its details. Overall, a WONDERFUL experience, and HIGHLY RECOMENDED!

As a professional interior designer I need many custom furniture pieces. For the past 8 years Franjo at K. International had been my go to guy. Skill, creativity and professionalism all rolled into one. From a custom sized mid-century modern chair to a lighted built in bar to refacing a kitchen Franjo can do it all. No project is too detailed and no client too finicky for Franjo and his team. Franjo takes my basic sketches and adds his experience and creativity to them to help me create unique and exciting pieces for my clients.

Franjo Katic is simply one of the most talented furniture artist and craftsman on the planet. There are numerous woodworkers and cabinet makers out there doing excellent work, but Franjo is in a league of his own...hand selecting every piece of rough lumber and painstakingly executing the most complicated details with the precision of a swiss jeweler. He has a rare talent for scale, proportion, aesthetics, grain, color, texture, and the artistic contrast required to turn any piece of furniture into a work of art. He also has an extremely talented group of furniture makers and craftsmen in his shop, each working with precision under his watchful eye. His extensive shop filled with exotic woods and prototype pieces has the feel of an old-school artist studio, as his goal is obviously artistic perfection and not mass production. In 2015 my wife and I (both designers) handed Franjo a set of drawings for a kitchen that we had been brainstorming over several years. We had been told repeatedly (by other furniture and cabinet makers) that many of our details and expectations required too much precision and should be simplified to ease execution. Franjo proceeded to absorb every detail instantly, not only agreeing to execute our dream kitchen, but also introducing ideas, elements, and details that made it even more extraordinary. He tackles every single challenge thinking not about how quickly or easily a particular task or detail can be accomplished, but instead with the rare pride of a great craftsman who wants his finished product to be admired by all as the best example of its kind. He is a collaborator, always offering up creative ideas but eager to listen to our ideas and insure that we were happy with the finished product. We found Franjo almost completely by accident, as much of his work involves custom furniture for national and international clients and he does very little marketing. He has an incredible talent for kitchen and cabinetry design; which combined with his furniture artistry and woodworking skills made him a perfect match for our project. He produced every detail of our kitchen, including the complex moldings that surround the kitchen and tie into the details on the cabinets. He is an expert in wood finishes of all kinds, as we needed someone with expert level knowledge in wood grains, natural finishes, painting, and glazing in order to achieve our goals. While other cabinet makers encouraged us to simplify the wood legs on our base cabinets, Franjo proceed to sculpt and model the perfect three dimensional solid walnut legs with both convex and concave curvature along a single face. He flawlessly blended our refrigerator and freezer into a wall of ice box style pantry cabinets, leaving no evidence of differentiation between the cabinets. He refused to utilize commonly accepted practices for panelizing appliances such as the dishwasher, and under-counter wine refrigerator, oven, and microwave; insisting on more complicated details which blended these appliances seamlessly into the furniture bases which became our cabinets and islands. He formed his own custom laminated bent wood panels for the arches, refusing to utilize easier techniques which lack the same level of precision and longevity. Franjo utilizes the highest quality materials, woods, and craftsmanship on every piece, refusing to compromise his commitment to furniture and cabinetry which will serve multiple generations. All of our established schedules were met, and even our highest goals for quality and design were exceeded. Franjo personally oversaw all aspects of the installation, as he is a hands-on operator both in his shop and in the field. If you are seeking amazing furniture, cabinetry, or custom woodwork of any kind, you must visit him. No fancy interactive website, no glossy marketing brochures, no sales pitch...Franjo simply lets his work speak for itself, and it's truly remarkable. K International Woodworking built a hutch for my kitchen, a wardrobe for my bedroom and a desk in my office area. All 3 built-ins are beautiful and exactly what I was looking for in each of those areas of my home. The workmanship is excellent!

K International Woodworking does beautiful work. We hired this company when we purchased our home and wanted to build or replace cabinets in our kitchen, bathrooms, and office. If there were any problems with installation, they were corrected immediately and actually there were very few issues that needed attention. I would highly recommend them.

I hired K International several times. I found them when I was looking for someone to make an oak dining table I designed. In 2011, he build the table exactly after my specifications. After nearly 3 years, I still enjoy every dinner we have at this table, It is a joy to look at. We discussed the project in detail, and Franjo took his time to match the color exactly how I wanted it. Their prices are extremely reasonable. In early 2014 we hired K International for the furniture off our new shop in Boylston street. He custom built many chest of drawers and cabinets for the workshop and a beautiful cherry bookcase for my bosses office. I would without any hesitation recommend their services, and we will use them again in the near future.

This company was the best.They did a marvelous job from the beginning, which involves planning, to the final product, which was the vanity in the bathroom, and book shelves in the library, with double crown molding. Carpenter is an artist with the vision for the space, who does design and woodwork. Woodwork that he did is a piece of art, marvelous, and unique. I am lucky that I can watch at this creation every day. I would always hire them in the future for any woodwork in my house, and would highly recommend them to anybody.

Our kitchen project came out spectacular! It has been 2 years since completion. The attention to detail, the willingness to work with the client, and the absolute commitment to the highest level of craftsmanship is unwavering. The owner and principle designer, Franjo is a wealth of information and talent. His design ideas absolutely made the project go from good to spectacular. Everyone that comes in to our house comments on the beauty and finish of details. The entire project took a couple of months to complete. In a heartbeat, I would give Franjo and his crew an unqualified recommendation. If you're looking for the ultimate level of kitchen finish and design then go no further. He is the best.....
