I highly recommend Karen! She is awesome to work with. Karen was thoughtful, patient, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We hired her to help us design our kitchen. She listened to our ideas and helped us find just the perfect match for our style and price range. She was always quick to return emails and made us feel that our questions were important. Her attention to detail was extraordinary. The kitchen is beautiful and laid out with much better functional ease. We purchase our cabinets through her and could not be happier with that decision. She supervised the delivery of the cabinets and gave precise directions to the installer. It was a pleasure to work with Karen. I am very thankful for the fantastic job she did at designing our kitchen.

I have been working with Karen on a bathroom remodel design. Because I am still in the planning phases of what I want to do, I have had the opportunity to talk to her while beginning my initial design process over several months. Each time she comes over, I feel like a friend is coming for coffee. She has a great personality and is so easy to work with. Each time I have contacted her, she responds immediately. I would not hesitate to recommend her and am happy that I found her as well.

Karen is awesome!! She worked closely with us to create a beautiful and functional kitchen design to replace our cramped and dated kitchen. The old layout in the kitchen was really difficult to work with but Karen was up for the challenge! Karen is extremely creative and she came up with a brilliant design that opened up the space by removing some interior walls and increasing the width of the doorways. The updated kitchen layout also gave us double the counter space and a lot more storage than the old kitchen. We also hired Karen to help us with the kitchen cabinet and countertop design. Karen went above and beyond to search numerous stone slab yards all over the Bay Area until she found the perfect quartzite countertop to complement our new cabinets. Karen’s kitchen layout also created an open flow from the kitchen to the family room which makes the space much more inviting and ideal for entertaining family and friends. We absolutely love our new kitchen! We can’t thank Karen enough for making our dream kitchen a reality!

Kevin Roessler at KDS is an innovative designer whom I can highly recommend for any project. Kevin really took the time to understand how we use our kitchen and then created the design accordingly. Kevin asked us about how many people are cooking typically at the same time, what needed to be within my reach (I am much shorter than my husband), how much space we needed/wanted for various activities (baking, pasta-making, etc.), how much storage was required (lots and lots), how much socializing happened in the kitchen and many more details that never would have crossed my mind. I will always remember being asked "where do you want your spices" and now I love having them in a drawer right next to the cook top easily accessible no matter what I am cooking (I thought everyone kept their spices in a cabinet). Not only was Kevin creative and insightful, but he was also conscientious about our budget helping us make informed choices about each selection and giving us the time to refine the design so that it perfectly met our needs. There are so many options now for cabinetry, finishes, gadgetry, etc., that without an informed designer's expertise it can be overwhelming, but Kevin made it relatively easy. We were also very pleased with his participation during construction. Kevin stayed with the project through installation and our move-in to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction. When hurdles were encountered in the construction (through no fault of KDS), he helped us devise solutions and worked well with the various trades to ensure we had the kitchen of our dreams and we couldn't be happier with the results.

We hired Kevin of KDS to help us design our kitchen area for a remodelimg project after finding some very positive reviews on Houzz. We found Kevin to be very professional, organized, and detailed-oriented in his approach throughout all phases our project. Kevin is also a very good listener, which definitely helped our project get done correctly and meet our expectations. We were not sure if we really needed a designer, but after seeing the results we are sure glad we did! We started by meeting Kevin at our house to view and discuss the project. Kevin asked us a lot of questions about how we use the space and what our goals were in terms of appearance and functionality. He then took some pictures and measurements and then carefully surveyed the area. Afterward, he provided us with a software-generated, 3-D rendition of the area which gave us a good idea of what the finished product would look like from several views before the project even started. It is also noteworthy that Kevin helped us choose new kitchen cabinets as he is also a manufacturer's representative for Columbia cabinets and has a nice showroom in Santa Clara. Additionally, he gave us some referrals to help us choose our appliances. With the most of the design phase complete, Kevin referred us to a general contractor he has worked with in the past whom we ended up hiring. Kevin and the general contractor even met with us at a local tile and stone supplier to select the granite for the counter top and the tiles for the floor and the back splash. After the construction started, Kevin stopped by several times to answer any questions or discuss any problems that we or the contractor had. This definitely provides added value to the KDS design service package. Of course, Kevin also came by at the project's end to inspect the quality of the work. We are very glad we chose KDS for our kitchen design needs. Kevin not only participates in the design, but also helps with selecting materials, selecting the appliances, selecting the contractor, and following up during construction to make sure the customer's expectations are met.

I wish I could give 10 stars as a rating for KDS, as working with them was nothing but an amazing experience. We met with KDS through our general contractor to order cabinets for the remodel of our kitchen, master bath, & laundry room. Working with Kevin and Ariana was such a joy! They are both so easy to work with and have GREAT vision. We had been working with our GC designer for the kitchen arrangement, and at our first meeting, KDS helped us make a few changes of appliances that made the arrangement even better. They helped make a more efficient workspace, as well as created a BEAUTIFUL focal point which with the original plan would not have happened. They helped us think outside the box and today I have a kitchen that is both efficient and beautiful. Our original pantry had to be moved with our new kitchen layout so KDS suggested pull out shelves in cabinets. This arrangement has made storing food even better and doubled the existing pantry space. They suggested many features that we hadn't thought of (a knife drawer, blind corner pull out shelves, dish drawer, utensil dividers) and all of these have been so worthwhile. We have looked for similar aftermarket items, and have not seen anything as great as what we have. We are so thankful they had the vision to help us save time and money, in the end, getting a great product. Making our color and material selections were easy thanks to the KDS showroom. They had great samples in the showroom so that we could feel and touch many of the accessories, wood choices, colors, and styles. They were generous to share many different color samples so that we could narrow down our countertop, tile, and floor selections. The quality of the product is excellent! The cabinets were delivered painted so this saved any problems that may have come up painting them on site. They are easy to keep clean and look amazing. Through the design phase of our project, Kevin and Ariana worked hard to get the design and measurements together quickly so that we could get the cabinets ordered early, so our project would not be delayed. A few pieces were damaged on the worksite after delivery, and KDS was quick to get them reordered and shipped keeping our project on time. They were good about keeping us updated on the delivery and coming out to the site to make sure everything we ordered was delivered. Ariana was so responsive! if I thought of a question or had a change on the weekend, she would get back to me right away. She would send us a full rendering of our kitchen. Being a visual person, the room renderings were my favorite part of our home remodel. I knew without a doubt that the space would look amazing once it was finished. Even after we had framed the house, I was still making changes, and a quick text to Ariana would solve a problem and our bathroom vanity is even more perfect than I had hoped. Our laundry room had tight space, and KDS helped us create an arrangement that provided lots of counter space and plenty of storage. We love our new laundry room! Several months after we moved in I had noticed that something wasn’t quite right with a few of our shelves. They quickly inspected the problem and realized the shelf was faulty and had them replaced. Kevin himself even came out to repair a pull-out shelf that was a little difficult to pull out, since I had overloaded it with canned goods! Customer service is A+ with KDS! The great thing about working with KDS is that they not only have a quality product, but they are quality people. I recommend KDS without reservation!

We had been thinking about remodeling our kitchen (built in 1978) for quite some time. We knew "the look" we wanted but did not know how to achieve it. We researched several firms before choosing KDS. We liked their business model and had great success working with Ariana, one of their designers. During our initial meetings, Ariana listened carefully to our ideas and one week later returned with her initial design concepts, which were far more creative and space functional than we expected, all while still being true to our original ideas. Ariana helped us with many details, including cabinet features, resource recommendations for appliances and fixtures, and even suggestions for an adjacent space that improved it significantly. Throughout the project, we benefited from her creativity and practicality. Ariana was very responsive to our needs, over the phone, via email and in person, depending on the situation. She is very pleasant and easy to work with. We are very happy with our remodeled kitchen and glad that we chose KDS and Ariana.

We recently went through a home renovation that included an update of our existing kitchen island. It was surprisingly difficult to find a company that was willing to do such a small project, but Kevin from KDS not only did our project, but made me feel as valued as a customer as someone who had completed a whole kitchen remodel. He spent the time and effort to make sure I had the right materials that worked with my existing kitchen, and walked me through several options for the configuration that fit everything I was looking for. His timeline estimates were spot on, and the finished materials were of high quality and exactly as described. My contractor had no complaints while installing, and Kevin even followed up afterwards to make sure everything was correct. All in all, we had a wonderful experience, and I will definitely look to them again for any future kitchen remodel needs. Highly recommend!

A broken pipe and leak turned into a kitchen and bath remodel. Karen at KDS patiently solicited our needs and desires and designed a beautiful contemporary kitchen. Karen was responsive to all our questions and concerns. I highly recommend KDS services they were a pleasure to work with - very thorough and thoughtful. Karen knows which small details really matter to create a polished look.

Kevin and KDS team helped us get our dream kitchen in Menlo Park. We love the quality, design, and functionality of our kitchen Kevin designed for us and wouldn't hesitate to recommend KDS to others. Our overall home remodel was delayed time after time with many set backs. However, I am happy to say our kitchen remodel was the smoothest part of it all because Kevin stayed on top of everything, working directly with GC and even visiting our home multiple times to help ensure things are done right. All and all, Kevin got us an amazing design, introduced us to quality products, and went the extra mile by making sure the project went smoothly until the end. Highly recommended!

When it was time to choose kitchen cabinets, Ariana was very helpful. She listened to what we needed and was able to envision the perfect layout. Her CAD drawings enabled us to visualize the space and make adjustments to accommodate our family’s needs and flow. She was flexible and was able to help us identify what we wanted when it wasn’t clear to us. She was very responsive to our questions and offered us suggestions and guidance throughout the whole process. She and KDS in general collaborated well with our designer, contractor and tile person. We love our kitchen and enjoy the space to gather, entertain and cook.

We hired KDS to design a kitchen for our Los Gatos Home in early 2017. We had a challenging space to work with from a space perspective. Although we liked the space, it did not show off a Los Gatos property well. Karen of KDS provided a lot of small ideas including spice racks adjacent to the cook center which made the kitchen uber-functional. Karen spent a lot of her own time resolving contractor issues. All of the cabinetry worked well with our specified appliances. My wife and I are extremely happy with KDS and would recommend them highly!
