I cannot recommend Metropolitan Woodworking enough! I (and everyone around me I am sure) consider myself a tough client with a very particular attention to details and nuances. However, Dave and his team (Luis and Oscar) delivered above and beyond and were flexible (and very reasonable) in accommodating the multitude of requests/changes/additions. We had a vision for bookshelves and two desks in a study that we hoped could also serve as a guest room, and we weren't sure how it was all going to come together. We got several bids for the project, and from the very first meeting, Dave and Trent set themselves apart. They listened really well and were very knowledgeable and articulate about both design and construction. So we were able to talk through different options and arrive at the best one. Their prices came in on par, and quite simply, we just had so much more confidence in them. We never had any doubt in their ability to do an excellent job. And we were right! From drawings to installation, everyone on their team was a total professional. The finished room looks magnificent. It's a perfect solution for us, and is so beautifully crafted. We couldn't be more pleased.

Metropolitan Woodworking has done great work in our home over the years. We had them design and build a library and remodel the cabinetry in our home. Then we had them back to do built in bookcases in a home office. Then we had them back to design and build an entertainment center and bookcases in our bedroom. What this should tell you is that we keep asking them back to do more over the past decade because they do such great work. Best I have ever seen and we get many compliments on the work.

My husband and I are thrilled with the cabinetry and custom closets we received from Metropolitan Woodworking. We live in a historic home with unusual spaces and challenging storage needs; they created beautiful spaces that perfectly balanced style with function. From design to installation, Metropolitan Woodworking was incredibly responsive to our preferences and concerns, thoughtful in their recommendations, and precise in the creation of the final product. Despite some challenges on our part with travel, they remained completely professional and communication was a breeze throughout the process. We cannot recommend them more highly for any custom work you may need, large or small! Our project included the following: -two large built-in cabinets for our living room that had to accommodate unusual HVAC venting and a large mounted TV with the related AV wiring (installation was made more difficult due to plaster walls requiring additional brackets); -a built-in closet of shelves (functions as a floor-to-ceiling armoire in the room) as well as a walk-in closet designed with hanging rods and shelves for our master bedroom (again, installation was complicated by plaster walls and electrical wiring in multiple spaces). Built in a wardrobe style closed with custom tie drawers. The project was complicated by the age of our house and floors, walls, and ceilings. The crew was professional polite and took their time on the job. They stuck with it much longer than anticipated to get it right, and we are very pleased with the final product.
