Modern Millwork did a big job for us--kitchen, bathrooms, bedroom, attic, a/c, etc.--and we could not be happier with the quality of the work and the timeliness of the execution. Vinny kept every promise that he made to us and was an excellent communicator, checking in with us every step of the way. Vinny transformed my boring beige kitchen to a contemporary, easy to use kitchen. It’s a standout space that is functional in every way, yet a dream to look at. I didn’t really want to go through the hassle of a construction project but Vinny and his crew felt like family. They were kind, courteous, nice to my kids and dog, and on time. The job was done on schedule and passed inspections. Highly recommend! A true transformation! I absolutely love it! They took down a wall, moved all the plumbing, added a gas stovetop, and crafted a design that would make room for the island and the big picture window over the large farmhouse stainless sink that can fit a whole dinners worth of pots and dishes with space to spare. The new design makes it easy to bake at Christmas and cook meals without feeling crowded or cramped for counter space. I wanted an open design without the feeling of cabinets overhead but also have storage and it meets all those needs.

We have been dreading the kitchen renovation but after 10 years of procrastinating we decided to bite the bullet. Having heard horror stories I was uneasy, and also because we live in a condominium with a lot of rules and structural oddities like crooked walls and odd angles. I wanted someone to provide and install all cabinetry and countertops. Modern Millwork is a quality operation from start to finish and we are super happy with the results. Vinny Colannino was terrific to work with as was his crew. Vinny was respectful, professional, knowledgeable and responsive at all times. He also coordinated the arrival of the appliances since we have no room to store them. The quality of the Medallion Cabinetry is excellent. We also installed quartz countertops, a large pantry to maximize storage and a built-in wooden table so we can eat in the kitchen comfortably. We were very impressed by the craftsmanship of his crew who all did beautiful work, down to the last detail. Vinny saw to details like various molding pieces and maximizing space for us in ways that would never have occurred to me. He was extremely accommodating and patient. He also showed up when he said he would and called if he was running slightly late. He was neat and respectful of our house—particularly our brand new carpet in the living room abutting the kitchen that I was rather (I admit, protective of)—and careful not to damage anything. And the end result is both really beautiful and highly functional. I cannot speak highly enough of Modern Millwork. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them or work with them myself again. It’s a really top-drawer operation in every respect.

I hired Modern Millwork based on recommendations that we received and also viewing first hand a renovation he was conducting at the time. We completely renovated our condominium and performed this major task in two phases. The first phase was completed in late 2015 and the second phase in early 2016. Throughout this process Vinny was very patient, honest and professional. He successfully executed our vision for our home always keeping in mind that quality of work and the associated timelines were of paramount importance. My husband and I had a total renovation done in our recently purchased apartment. We hired Vinny at Modern Millworks to be our general contractor because he came highly recommended by my daughter, her friend, and my real estate broker. They each used him for various renovations including a small bathroom, an eat-in kitchen, and a total apartment renovation. From day one, he was attentive to our needs. He worked hand in hand with my designer to bring our vision to life and when we hit a wall, he was able to meet the challenge and find a solution. One of our biggest challenges was to move the stacking washer/dryer from the kitchen into the entryway. Originally, our plan was to use the existing pantry in the entryway to house the machines but when the closet proved to be too small to accommodate a full sized washer and dryer, he designed an additional space right next to the pantry and fitted it with double doors. It worked seamlessly with the space and now looks like it was always part of the original floorplan. He used quality materials in every aspect of the job from plumbing to electrical to carpentry. He answered all our questions and concerns in a timely manner and was always honest, polite and respectful to me, my husband and anyone else involved in the project. I would highly recommend Modern Millwork for any and all renovations.

Modern Millwork designed and renovated the kitchen in my condo and I couldn't be happier. I decided to go with Vinny because I knew I would be able to go to work each day and not have to worry about what was going on at home. Everything was done skillfully and properly with great attention to detail. I believe you get what you pay for and it absolutely was the case with Modern Millwork. Modern Millwork remodeled our kitchen 30 years ago. So when it was time for an update -- over the objections of my husband who saw nothing wrong with three decades-old cabinets (in truth, they still were in good shape) -- Vinnie Colannino and crew were the natural choice. Our start date was for the day the "snow storm of the century" was to hit, yet the demolition began on schedule. And from there the project stayed right on course. All the various trades arrived when scheduled and expected. They all were very professional in their work. The finish carpentry was beautiful with extra touches, not requested, but that added to the overall quality and function of the kitchen. Woodwork around doors and windows were matched to rest of house. Painting is not done by Modern Millwork, but the recommended company came and did a meticulous job. Although our kitchen is not large, Vinnie's layout and suggestions for different features make it an efficient space in which to work. He listened to our needs and wants working them into the design. We HIGHLY recommend them.

When we decided it was time to renovate our 1960’s kitchen, we were very nervous because of all the nightmare stories we had heard about contractors. But we had no worries with Modern Millwork. As soon as we sat down with Andy and heard the background of the business, we knew we would be using them. He and Joanne came up with a beautiful design, which included knocking down the wall to the dining room. Vinny and his team are all true professionals. Vinny is more than willing to listen to any questions or concerns you may have, and will address them. They were also willing to add on a few other projects that had nothing to do with the kitchen.
