We completed a major remodel of our condo working with an interior designer and a general contractor. Our remodel included extensive cabinetry work: a new kitchen with coordinating fireplace surround and shelving/cabinetry in our great room, new bathroom vanities, and build-out of our study with countertops, shelving, and cabinetry. We selected Pacific Design for this part of the project. PD started with our interior designer's plans and collaborated with us and our designer effectively to problem solve and create a beautiful and functional plan. When PD completed its final approved construction drawings accompanied by a written proposal detailing the specifications and cost for each area of the project, we signed a contract. At this point PD ordered all materials. We chose walnut for the great room and kitchen cabinetry with some white Italian laminate for upper kitchen cabinets, natural rift oak for the bathroom vanities, and laminate for the study. All our cabinetry has a contemporary flush design, which is a harder look to achieve than traditional cabinetry with trim. As with any major project, there were some hitches along the way. PD handled them in a professional manner and made all corrections to our satisfaction and the satisfaction of our interior designer. There were no upcharges. We have done several remodeling jobs at former homes and have seen where contractors can cut corners. Pacific Design uses high quality materials, quality workmanship and the owners are professional and easy to work with. We are very satisfied with the work and we would not hesitate to recommend Pacific Design.

I have used Pacific Design twice...first for my kitchen remodel 2 years ago and this year for my bathroom remodel. They do beautiful work--the cabinets are gorgeous and everything was right the first time. My son, who had recently graduated from a construction course at PCC, installed my kitchen, his first time doing such work, and he had to call the shop many many times to ask advice. They always answered his calls immediately and gave him clear and patient answers, though I'm sure it interrupted their own work schedule. I highly recommend Pacific Design!

The installers we work with are always very happy to hear we have a Pacific Design kitchen for them to work on. We selected Pacific Design to do the cabinetry on our total house remodel in 2001. The reason we selected them was quality of workmanship, and their sense of design. We wanted something other than the norm, and they more than delivered. In order to make our decision we toured their showroom and visited several of their completed projects. Mel Archer worked closely with us to come up with our custom design. Higher than normal toekicks and diagonal doors were a few off our requests. These requests seem to open the door to more creative ideas from Mel, which we also incorporated into the project. His cabinetry really defines our home, especially since they worked on almost every room ... the entrance to our home with a built-in coat closet and table; the bar area just off the living room; the entire kitchen and pantry; all the bathrooms; the master bedroom built-in dressers; the linen closet; the entertainment area in the family room; and the built-in bookcases, desk, file drawers and closets in the den. Pacific Design and Mel Archer were a pleasure to work with throughout the project ... creative in their design, years of experience behind them, and wonderful craftsmen. They made every deadline and charged me the price they quoted me. We couldn't be more thrilled with the end result. Our home was featured in The Portrait of Portland magazine. Not only did Pacific Design do a great job for us then, but they have since then returned to our home for a few touchups. We've had a few nicks and dings repaired, since it has been over 10 years. We also replaced a faulty icemaker with a cabinet and they were able to blend it in beautifully.

Family business, they care. A wealth of experience, they do things right. Great staff, they produce an impeccable product. They have an incredible show room that allows clients to not only see their cabinets but to try different hardware but also view the many options available.
