3 Reviews for Quality Kitchen and Windows
The Best!! The very Best! Peter and his crew arrived early on the day he sad he would and took care of installing new cabinets and refacing existing cabinets. They were extremely neat made sure everything was cleaned up at the end of the day so i could be comfortable and not worry about my dogs stepping on dropped nails or screws, etc. Pete and his crew were nice guys. They were always respectful and truly sounded like they were intent on making me happy with their work. They were very helpful suggested alternative solutions and explained how and why they were doing things always checked with me to make sure it was what i wanted.

Is anyone out there thinking of getting their kitchen redone or their cabinets refaced? Well, I don't have a recommendation for you, but I can definitely tell you who to NOT use. Quality Kitchen and Windows of Sewell, NJ. I made the mistake of hiring Pete Verling and his "company" to redo my kitchen and that was a huge mistake! When he came to our house to sell the job, we thought he was great. He had a good selection, very good prices and was a good salesman (family owned small business, American made products, years of experience, personally trained staff, etc.) . He was even throwing in a "free countertop" (More on that later...) he requested that we pay up front to save him on credit card fees and we agreed, (obviously big mistake number 1). From the first day that the work began, we knew that this was a mistake. I took a day off of work and Pete was supposed to arrive at 7am. At around 9:30, two girls, his helpers, showed up and began working. They worked until around noon and left for the day. When I called Pete, he told me that they had finished what they had planned for the day. Umm excuse me? What? Finished at noon? Worked for less than 3 hours. Some work ethic! The next day, I had my mother in law wake up early to be here. She drove 40 minutes to be here and they never show up. I call Pete, he says they weren't feeling well. Day 2 down the drain. Day 3, Again, no Pete. The girls work for about 4 hours and leave by 2. 3 days in and it looks like nothing has been done. Finally after several frustrating phone calls, Pete says he's taking over the job, but the next day, the girls show up again and no Pete. Now we move to day 5, the job was promised in 4-5 days and yet nothing has really been done. After a few more days, they finally "finish" the job, 9 days after starting, but the job wasn't really done. I identified several areas that needed to be repaired, on 3 occasions. They were never fixed. We spent extra money for upgraded drawer fronts, they were never ordered. We were promised flip trays for the fake drawer fronts in front of the sink, never done. Pete ordered the forgotten drawer fronts in April. The were finally installed on August! 3 days after installation, they begin falling off. They were installed with double stick tape. Yes, the same double stick tape that you would use to hang a poster in your kids bedroom! I immediately email Pete who insisted that this was the proper installation technique. When I questioned him on this, he told me that all teachers are the same, they think they are better than everyone else. All i wanted was the job done correctly and got a personal attack against teachers. The free counter top, was simply a layer of material over my existing countertop. I am currently working with my CC company to see if anything can be done, or even perhaps small claims court may be in the future. Please check out the pictures of the crappy work on my FB page and if you hear of anyone thinking of using Quality Kitchen and Windows of Sewell, NJ, tell them to contact me.
Update: Following this review, Pete offered to come fix the problem areas, but only if I took down the review. I said I would take down the review after the work was completed. He then refused to fix it.

Comment from Quality Kitchen and Windows:
Matt is showing you the pictures of the job before I got there to rectify the work that my workers did. After I completed the job Matt gave me a 5 star review. Matt and I had a personal disagreement about my workers and is a disgruntled teacher. This is his only way to show his authority. And this is what he promised to do. Oh well can't make everybody happy all the time.

I found Quality Kitchens and Windows on Houzz Home Design Network. I clicked on the link for his website and was impressed. I filled out the information form and within 10 minutes the owner Peter Verling called and acquired about my project and how he could help me. We made an appointment, Peter went over every option including options I had no idea about. He took notes and measurements of my kitchen and told me he would call within a week to show me the 3 dimension design. We met with Peter at his office and went over the design, we made some design changes with an hour we were done with the design and proceeded for the estimate. The next day Peter called with a detailed estimate. We went to his office to sign the paper work and leave a small deposit. Within 3 weeks the cabinets arrived, all work was competed the way it was explained. At the end of each day I had a working sink and stove. As far as I can say the job went exactly as planned and I cannot believe I was able to find a contractor with the pride and attention to detail as Peter Verling. We are currently deciding what to do with the bathrooms.
