Tony's Custom Cabinets

Tony was incredibly easy to work with and very helpful from our initial design idea for a custom bathroom vanity, up through completion. He provided a quote and initial drawings within a couple of days of me reaching out and kept in contact throughout the build of the vanity. He was great about understanding our design ideas but also providing feedback based on his experience when needed, which was incredibly helpful. The timeline he provided us was accurate and he delivered the vanity exactly when he said he would. The quality of the vanity is wonderful and it's obvious Tony cares deeply about the craftsmanship and aesthetic details of building a cabinet that meets a customer's idea. As can be seen in the photos, we were looking for a 60" wide vanity with only drawers, horizontal grain walnut, and ready for a double sink countertop. As can also be seen in the photos, the vanity is absolutely gorgeous and as good as it looks in the photos, they don't even do it justice compared to in-person. I would happily use Tony for future cabinet projects and would easily recommend him for others. Thanks again Tony!

TV sizes have increased substantially since we bought our entertainment center around the turn of the century, and the base pedestal for the TV was no longer wide enough to support our current television. We asked Tony to build a new pedestal, in the style of our entertainment center. The new cabinet was built to our specifications, and, as you can see in the picture, beautifully matches the rest of the entertainment center. Tony usually has cabinet doors made by a sub-contractor, but in our case, because of the style requirements, he decided to make the doors himself. He gave me a tour of his impressive workshop, and I can assure you, it is not the workspace of someone who only dabbles in woodcraft. I asked the purpose of one of the strange looking devices, and he explained that it was a drill press for simultaneously creating a line a shelf-adjustment holes. Tony delivered the finished product and even helped us place it in the entertainment center, and that certainly was not specified in our contract. Tony is an experienced artisan, who takes great pride in his craft, and, to top it off, is an extremely likeable fellow.

When I was researching custom cabinets to have built for my brother’s room, Tony came very highly recommended and I am forever grateful that I found him! My brother has muscular dystrophy so I knew I wanted strong, sturdy furniture that was easy to access and use. Tony came over to take measurements and discuss ideas, and I was so impressed by his wealth of knowledge! When I gave him the gist of what I wanted for my brother, he took my simple ideas and ran with them, turning them into beautiful pieces of furniture far beyond what I ever imagined! He took all of my brother’s needs and hobbies into consideration, including adding floating shelves to display his sports trophies, beautiful rounded corners for safety, and my brothers favorite - a floating cabinet to hold all his video games right under the TV!! Every detail was so thoughtful and thorough, it was like he was making these pieces for his own son. Best of all, he chose an absolutely stunning hickory wood to match my brother’s baseball themed bedroom! Tony went above and beyond in every aspect of this project. Great communication, always on time, finished right on time. He even mounted my brother’s tv when he was finished, AND added holes to snake the wires through the furniture! All in all just an amazing job by a super, super nice guy. If you are looking to have any sort of wood working project done at your home, you HAVE to contact Tony. Whether you are like me and just have a few “ideas” or you already have a very specific product in mind, Tony can make your dream come true! I cannot wait to have more work from him!!

We needed a custom peninsula added to our L-shaped kitchen, and Tony built us the perfect peninsula at a great price! Other places quoted us 8+ weeks, but Tony was quick to respond and delivered/installed the highest quality cabinet in just 5 weeks. He is very experienced and knowledgeable, and asked us questions about details we never would have thought of to make sure we got exactly what we wanted and it fit well with our space. His craftsmanship is unmatched, professional, and timely! We discussed an install date and he installed on that date in less than 6 hours. My wife and I spent substantial time researching reliable and high quality cabinet options for the kitchen remodel of our lovely 1906 Green Lake home. I am so grateful after seeing some of the reviews on Houzz that I reached out to Tony & Judy @ Tony's Customs Cabinets. It was the right temperament and chemistry after having experienced less than satisfying interaction with the big box stores and self-promoting boutique craftsmen. Tony is hands-on and grounded in his congenial approach understanding that homeowners have an initial vision for their kitchen yet need at times his artisan approach to make it a reality and fill in the empty pieces of the puzzle that are not always known at the onset of a project. Tony further made referrals available from the onset and this helped us to gain some additional feedback on what Tony did for others on their projects. Tony's methodical approach to work is so well thought out and comprehensive in scope. He hones in on the little details that made our project absolutely delightful. Tony provided scaled color diagrams so that we can picture in advance what our kitchen would look like. Tony also provided meaningful suggestions in keeping with a home of 1906 vintage. Moreover, the project cost was reasonable and on schedule without any surprises. I appreciate when a contractor like Tony respects our time and is respectful of our home in terms of tidiness. Tony and two of his stellar assistants Eric/Jason further helped me out in a pinch on most of the initial demo work after my other contractor became unexpectedly ill and hospitalized. In short, Tony went way beyond the call of the duty with our kitchen remodel. The extra storage space in our kitchen is now utterly phenomenal and the long sought after pantry is now a reality particularly for my wife. The gorgeous cherry wood door and inner Baltic birch shelves are both upscale and the true mark of an old school craftsman who does not cut corners on quality and workmanship. We are so pleased with Tony and Judy @ Tony's Custom's Cabinets that we will have Tony taking the lead role for our bathroom remodel this coming Fall.

We are thrilled with the kitchen cabinets that Tony built and installed for an extensive remodeling project that included removing a wall and major changes to the plumbing and electric. The cabinets are absolutely beautiful. 8 months after the project was completed, the doors still align perfectly and the finish looks spectacular. All of the soft-close drawers glide open and shut smoothly and quietly. We had already drawn a 3D plan of the kitchen layout when we contacted Tony for an estimate. We were coordinating all the tradesfolks ourselves, so Tony's advice as a former general contractor was useful. Tony helped us refine the details and made some excellent suggestions. For example, for the peninsula/breakfast bar, he built a three-panel cherry wood back that was proportioned and stained to match the cabinets. One panel is a hidden push-to-open door that accesses a corner cabinet from the back side that would have otherwise been dead space. He also put a subtle, elegant curve on the breakfast bar top that, along with the wood panel back, turned it into a piece of fine furniture rather than just a functional bar. He also convinced us to replace the interior of an old ironing board nook with proper cherry shelving instead of just covering it with a new door and we're very glad we did. It is an excellent and interesting cabinet that stores lots of spices and cans. All of the cabinets were meticulously finished with wood trim that matched the irregular lines of our wonky old walls so that no unsightly gaps were left. The only reason I'm deducting one star is for communications, which could have been smoother. We were given a start date and we asked a couple times if it was still correct, but then were surprised to get a call very close to that date saying the work would start a week later. Several intermediate appointments were confirmed only at the last minute. After supplying a short list of changes for the final plan via email, we asked for updated drawings a couple of weeks later and discovered that one of the drawer units had not been changed from 4 drawers to 3. We had also told Tony we did not want the curved surface on the breakfast bar, as we had misunderstood and thought it would reduce the amount of counter top too much. The subtle curve the created turned out to be one of the best looking features of the design, so in the end we're glad he went ahead with it, but we wished he would have discussed it with us instead of just doing it. You'll be thrilled with the result if you are careful to document and verify all decisions and schedules in writing and make sure your communications are very clear. Listen carefully to Tony's suggestions and advice, because he has a wealth of experience that translates into beautiful designs, but if you really disagree with some of them, make sure you are clear, in writing. Tony's craftsmanship and attention to detail shines through on the final result. I am still stunned at how well it turned out every day when I walk into the kitchen, even though I should be used to it by now. The cabinets look like they belong in a fancy home magazine, so much sturdier, substantial, and elegant than the laminated ones we've seen in new $1M+ homes. And all this came at a reasonable price!

We have a very old home and the kitchen is quite small. I was amazed at how Tony was able to turn every single square inch of space into beautiful kitchen cabinets.His materials are top notch and the workmanship was outstanding. The small touches, from the crown molding to the window casement was above and beyond my expectations. Tony designed our kitchen cabinetry with many custom ideas which make our kitchen work great. We are thrilled with the added wine bar and rack. The small drawer in front of the cooktop is a perfect place for the hot pads and trivets. The glass cabinet doors match perfectly with the glass in the adjacent laundry room and office doors. We are thrilled with the end result of our project.

I have had Tony provide cabinets for several remodels that Charter has worked on. I keep returning to him as he provides a very high quality cabinet at a fair price. Tony is easy to work with and I know I can can't on him to deliver a product that my client's will be happy with.

Tearing apart your house is a scary business! Despite all the great planning and research, we’ve always found it difficult to picture the end result until it’s done (too late if you're not happy with it!), and while all vendors tell a great story to get the job, the outcomes aren’t necessarily always as advertised. But... once in a while, we are fortunate enough to find a craftsman that has the creativity, detail, insanely great focus on excellence, and persistence to see a job through to an excellent conclusion. This is the case with Tony’s Custom Cabinets. It’s been a tremendous pleasure to team up with him and experience such great craftsmanship…. and a result that reminds me of the great homes in England, Italy and France which, over generations, have been decorated with woodwork combining beautiful form with function, and which persist to this day with enduring style and durability. Our experience with Tony has been nothing short of perfect He’s a quiet, unassuming standout! It's been so refreshing to see a team with such pride in workmanship - getting the result to be just absolutely right; his caring, unrelenting focus and attention to the myriad of little details that all add up to deliver a fantastic result. Tony met with us and viewed our old cabinet layout and quickly determined and most importantly showed us a much more efficient use of our current real estate. His knowledge of the many options that are now available were invaluable in our quest to gain more storage without increasing a fixed footprint. We now have a combination of drawers, cabinets, Lazy Susan, tilt-outs, dividers, a "microwave in a drawer" installed appliance (gained counter space), and more. Unlike some of the other cabinet manufactures that submitted bids, who could only offer cabinets with fixed dimensions. (ex. 12", 18", 24", etc) TCC was able to modify width, height and depth dimensions as needed. This was very beneficial in utilizing all the existing space, installing a special sink and avoiding windows that hung lower than normal. In closing, we were extremely satisfied with the: 1. Hardware: dove-tail mortise joints, soft-close hinges & drawer sliders, no particle board, heavy-duty leveling supports, etc. 2. Craftsmanship: A true artisan who took pride in offering the highest quality within our budget. 3. Professionalism: The entire team at TCC were extremely helpful, providing patience and flexibility throughout the project. 4. Integrity: TCC went the extra mile in delivering everything that was agreed upon at the stated price. 5.
