I hired Damian's firm in 2013 to remodel a typical dining room into a library/media room. The results were stunning and just as planned. While I had an idea as to what I wanted the room to become, Damian made very useful suggestions along the way, opening my eyes to new possibilities. The end result was a transformation of a room used once or twice a year to my favorite place in the house that is used everyday. The level of quality and attention to detail were superb. The pictures speak for themselves. For another remodeling project, I would certainly want Damian involved again.

We hired Damian with Unorthobox Cabinetry for a complete kitchen redo and to build a media cabinet in the adjoining hearth room. From our initial interview to our completed project we were met with a high degree of professionalism, respect, and an impressive knowledge of kitchen and cabinet design. The quality of the work, products used and attention to detail were first class. We are completely delighted with the finished design and have yet to see a nicer kitchen! Wouldn't change a thing thanks to the upfront work of Damian. Don't hesitate to try them, you won't be disappointed!

Damian Altenhofen, the owner of Unorthobox Wood Designs has done three projects in our home over the past several years: 1) a wall mounted vanity for the wash basin in the powder room. 2) a total reconstruction of the kitchen (displayed on the website). 3) a complete redo of the master bath and master bedroom. In each instance, not only was the workmanship absolutely top notch, but Damian participated in the design decisions. This was especially helpful for the kitchen where we did not have a "designer", rather we were simply expressing our desires and design ideas to Damian. Additionally, in both the bath and kitchen, Damian used some of the existing cabinets, fixtures and appliances, thus saving several thousand dollars in the process. Damian has a thorough knowledge of all the aspects of a project, which means he can be a trusted advisor for a whole host of issues in a major remodel. We met Damian at a "Homes Show" where he was displaying a beautiful sideboard built in his shop and were impressed with all aspects of the piece from the basic construction to the outstanding finish. After describing what we wanted to do (including reusing some of the existing cabinets) we decided to first have him build the powder room vanity. Once finished with that small project it was easy to have him do the other two projects, as we found him to be totally honest, innovative and dependable.

He is a true craftsman. You will not find better quality anywhere. He made exactly what we asked for, and it looked and installed better than our highest expectations.
