His ideas were brilliant and fixed the problems posed by the interior designer's original drawings. In the end, we achieved the same look (actually a better look, tbh!) with incredibly high quality custom cabinet work. And he added beautiful hemlock wood to the ceiling, turning the office from a boring drywall room into a well appointed, timeless office. “Will Eick of HomeComing Woodworks restored and refinished our Family Heirloom China Cabinet. Family legend placed the acquisition of the cabinet back to the late nineteenth century. Age and past efforts at finish topcoating had deeply blackened the finish and some of the glue joints were clearly saying they had enough. For this treasured cabinet to remain in service a major overall was required. We did a long search for restoration cabinetmakers and clearly felt Will was our best option to provide the skills and sensitivity the project needed. A rich warm hued structure of solid mahogany lay under the blackened crumbling finish. Will removed the old finishes, applied a new finish that allowed the wood to really speak. He also reset all the mirror and glass work. The cabinet now projects a proud and handsome presence for both itself and its contents. Will was a pleasure to work with, someone who really sweats the details. He kept in close touch with us reviewing restoration details, carefully preparing stains and finishing sample options.
