“Debby has been my go-to designer for large projects--remodeling three bathrooms ($60,000), designing a built-in china cabinet and sideboard--and most recently a smaller one of a kitchen backsplash. Because I am not a fan of backsplashes, for a variety of reasons, I did not have a concept of the look I wanted even though I knew I needed one by my sink. Debbie worked with me to come up with a concept. I love baskets and that became the inspiration. Debbie found an arched tile that when applied in a brick pattern looks woven. We added a braided edge to finish the basket look. Debby worked with me on colors to blend with my countertop and provided the insight that the colors I first chose would be too dark. She was right. When you look at the photo, please note that the wall still needs some work because electrical outlets had to be moved and that I have very little ability as a photographer. Debbie will take the lead or let you take as much of the lead as you want. That is, it does not have to be all her ideas. Debby will work with you to meet your budget, but if your budget is unrealistic for what you want she will tell you that from the beginning and give a realistic estimate of what you want. She work with you to find compromises. I really appreciate that. Debby has a great set of skilled craft persons to call on and stays with the project. On the china cabinet project, she stopped work because she could see it was not coming out like I would want. (I was at work.) We then figured out how to make it work.”
