“Back in 2002, we bought a California Contemporary ranch home by notable builder Donald J. Scholz. Not understanding the historical significance of this treasure at the time, we decided to “update” the house. For the next 15 years we struggled with regret. We didn’t want an ordinary, lackluster, “big box store” fix so we went on a mission to find just the right person bring our home back to its original glory. One project we had to tackle was rebuilding the half wall room divider that was in our entryway way. Only this time, instead of a planter on top like the original, we wanted something more functional but still in keeping the mid century feel of the house. After searching long and hard, we found woodworker/artist Noah Hosburgh from Hosburgh Custom Woodwork. We drew a sketch of what we wanted and showed Noah some photos of original Schulz homes. After a few months, our long-awaited room divider was installed! This one definitely has more personality than the original. And now we have storage hidden behind doors using SparkleLam and a cool, mid-century top! Noah is creative and a truly talented artist. He worked with us every step of the way, making sure every detail was spot on. When people walk into our home now, it’s the first thing they see. They always comment on the beauty of this piece of art and believe it to be original to the home … exactly what we were going for! Thank you so much, Noah! You made our dreams come true!”
