Hi, I'm Karel, I'm a mix of a woodworker, photographer and programmer. I believe in things that are made with care to last. That's the kind of attention I like to bring to my work. I've been building things for years and also happen to have a passion for problem solving. It likely comes from 10+ years spent working as a software engineer. My work includes custom furniture, rethinking people's space and creating products. I work mostly with home owners and small businesses in the surroundings of Montreal, QC. Feel free to contact me!

I discovered a deep passion for carpentry and design that I knew I had but never explored truly. Love of fashion, interior design and decorating gave birth to beautiful furniture and a small business. My 1st project was to create a headboard for my girlfriend's bed, followed by a night table which I then posted on Facebook. The reaction was instantaneous. People started asking me to create some furniture and other projects for them. I don't have a huge shop and a gazillion of tools, but I have enough space and tools to attack small projects and accomplish them with perfection in a timely fashion. I pay special attention to the planning, details and the finishing aspect of the project; I guess I just like it perfect. 99% of the wood used in my fabrication and creations is salvaged, reclaimed and was sometimes part of another piece of furniture that was taken apart. Being that I only use reclaimed materials, the most challenging part is trying to figure out put everything together with different pieces and still make it look like it was meant to be together. All pieces are handmade and require many hours of work especially the finishing part, but I really enjoy doing this, plus by using reclaimed wood I help the planet and assure a better future for our kids.

I started building furniture at an early age and have now incorporated my woodworking skills into new creative designs for renovation projects of any kind. I've just completed my 2nd full reno and run a team of 3 talented and experienced carpenters. I'm available for renovations but still take on cabinetry and woodworking jobs as long as its an interesting project. I've also started helping designers in conceptualizing spaces and have developed an eye for both design and construction.
